Once Hazel devised a plan, she quickly acted and ran out of the Walgreens building, exposing herself to the spider queen. She didn't hide anywhere else or take shelter behind the various cars or building rubble that blanketed the area. She simply presented herself before the queen and did the one thing she knew would catch her attention: she taunted her.
"Hey, spider queen!" She shouted, immediately grabbing the queen's attention. "You want to know who disturbed your little nest that caused all of this?" She pointed at herself with a triumphant smile, as if proud to announce herself as the culprit. "You're looking right at her!"
The queen snarled as she glared at Hazel. "You wretched bitch! This...!" She pointed her sharpened finger at the witch. "This is all your fault!"
Seeing this only made Hazel smile more. "Yeah, that's right. Who do you think came up with the idea to use your kids for XP farming to prepare for your arrival? ME!"
Her last statement seemed to be the catalyst that triggered the spider queen as she screeched at the sky in anger. "You miserable, vile, vermin! I swear I will tear you apart and feed your remains to my remaining children!"
"Then I hope they choke on me and die! You can consider it a parting gift to know that even in death, I'll be taking your kids with me!"
"Damn you!"
In a fit of rage, the queen sprinted toward Hazel, all eight legs moving to get close to the culprit behind the slaughter of her children. As soon as she got close, Hazel enveloped her body in Telekinesis and quickly took to the sky, barely avoiding the spider queen as she barreled toward her like a train.
While in the air, Hazel glared down at the spider queen while wearing a sadistic smile on her face. "You're gonna have to do a lot better than that if you want to catch me, you know. Should I kill some more of your kids to get you properly motivated?"
The queen shrieked in anger before chasing after her. Hazel laughed before flying away from her enemy, but stayed within distance to where she would continue to follow her. Using one of her Astral Eyes, she took a look over at the bar and grill where Zoe and Anais were just leaving from. The pair looked confused as they watched Hazel and the queen leave the area without them.
Seeing this, Hazel clicked her tongue. "Crap, I forgot that I can't communicate with them through Chat Room."
Initially, Hazel planned to tell Zoe and Anais to keep the queen's children from following and protecting her. But because she didn't think ahead and simply started her plan without informing them, she was in a bit of a predicament.
"Alright, guess I'll have to tell Astrid to tell John or Kane to...tell Zoe and Anais about my plan. Yeah, that makes sense."
Ignoring the confusing statement she just made, Hazel pulled up her chat room and communicated with Astrid.
[Hazel Thatcher: Astrid, I need you to get John or Kane to tell Zoe and Anais to keep the queen's children from following her and getting in my way. And before you ask, I can't tell them personally because I'm currently flying through the city with the queen on my tail.]
[Astrid Skogr:...Alright, then.]
Hazel could practically see the look of confusion on Astrid's face after sending that message. The only reason why the dark elf wasn't questioning this was likely because she knew Hazel wouldn't be able to properly explain until her plan was finished.
After getting the message through to Astrid, she then focused her attention back on the queen, who was still chasing her like a mother on a mission. Although Hazel was slowing down enough to keep the queen from losing sight of her, she was a bit surprised by how fast the spider empress was. Those eight legs were certainly kicking into overdrive.
Looking ahead, Hazel zipped through the city of Portland, turning tight corners and occasionally landing on buildings to let the queen catch up and also to taunt her a little more. She landed on the State Theatre building on Congress Street and started firing mana bolts at Spider Queen, doing her best to keep her angry and blindsided by her rage.
"That's right..." She whispered to herself. "Keep trying to get me. Ignore everything else and keep trying to kill me."
While watching the queen rage, she looked ahead, realizing she was slowly getting close to her destination. Just a little more and they would be right at Temple Street. Right where the hole to her nest was. The place where it all started.
Hazel got distracted when she gazed over where their destination was and nearly got hit by one of the queen's acid bolts. Seeing the spell attack through her Astral Eye, she ascended into the air, watching the green acidic substance splash against the edge of the roof she stood on mere moments ago.
"Wow, you almost hit me! Nice job!"
"I will rip your throat out and feast on your entrails!"
"You plan to share with your kids? Sharing is caring, you know."
The queen let out another screech before leaping at Hazel while she was in the air. She moved to the side, dodging the spider empress's attack before continuing her flight toward Temple Street. It should only be a few more blocks until she reached the nest.
A wave of fatigue washed over Hazel, hinting to her that she was running out of energy. Since she couldn't stop, she pulled out another mana potion from her storage bracelet and downed it in an instant. The fatigue she felt before disappeared in an instant as she was then filled with energy.
She glanced behind her, making sure that the spider queen was still following. And sure enough, she was. She didn't even have to look and simply heard the various and explicit insults she was hurling at Hazel out of spite.
She kept flying toward the hole, soon making it to Temple Street. It was pretty easy to tell when there was a massive hole in the middle of the street, along with various buildings nearby crumbled to the ground or into the hole itself.
The moment she saw the hole, she smiled. "Time to go down the spider hole."
With the spider queen still gaining on her, she flew toward the massive hole, going down it without a second thought. Rapidly descending the hole, she gazed into the darkness below her, watching it slowly engulf her vision.

After a little while of falling, a small source of light peeked through the darkness. Seeing it, Hazel flew further down and watched as the light got brighter and clearer. It didn't take long until she finally made it to the bottom of the hole, and what she saw both horrified and disgusted her.
She found herself in what could only be described as a Nest. A spider nest, to be exact. It was a cavern chamber completely covered in webs from the ceiling to the walls, to the very ground she would've stood on if she wasn't flying in the air to avoid getting caught in the webbing for the queen to kill her.
Hazel looked around, scanning her surroundings. Aside from the webs blanketing the entire chamber, she also saw multiple green eggs. The queen's eggs. From what she could tell, there were a hundred of them, maybe more, scattered all over the nest.
"Geez," she grimaced. "How many eggs has she been producing? No wonder she had a damn army of spiders."
Considering that she still had plenty of unborn children, she needed to end this fight before they hatched. Thankfully, she had a plan to do that. She then flew around the nest, doing her best to avoid getting caught in any webs that blocked her path, and summoned multiple curse bombs, making them as big as possible and planting them all over the spider nest. Whether it was the wall, the ceiling, or even the ground, she placed a bomb there and moved on.
As she did this, it didn't take long before the queen finally caught up to Hazel. The entire nest began to rumble as she descended into the nest. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed that one of the spiders inside the egg started to move. She witnessed a black silhouette shift around inside the egg, making Hazel recoil in disgust.
Looking away from the egg, she watched as the spider queen finally made her appearance, jumping down the hole and landing on the web-covered ground below them. She straightened up before setting her gaze upon Hazel, glaring at her.
"You dare trespass in my home?! Disturb my sleeping children?!"
"Technically speaking, you were doing the disturbing part. I haven't made a single loud noise since I got here, so the latter accusation is on you."
"You think you can just float there and mock me in my domain?!"
Hazel paused, taking a moment to consider the queen's question, before giving her an answer. "I mean, I already am, so yes?"
The queen shrieked once more, causing the entire nest to tremble from the noise. Even the spiders inside the eggs were growing agitated from her scream. Hazel was afraid that they could burst from their eggs at any moment and attack her just to appease their mother's fury.
"I will make you suffer!" She seethed. "I will feed you to my unborn children and make sure you are alive to feel them feasting on your insides!"
"Well, at least you're thinking of your children this time."
"Die!"
She rushed at Hazel, determined to grab her and keep her promise to eat her alive along with her children to join the feast. Hazel flew away, making the queen follow her. The two zipped around the nest playing a game of cat and mouse.
As she flew around the nest, she summoned more curse bombs and planted them all over the place. After planting a good amount of bombs, she flew over to the hole, getting ready to leave. However, she knew that the queen wouldn't let her leave so easily. So, she needed to time this just right without getting caught in the crossfire.
She made it over to the exit, and just when she was about to fly up, she fired several curse spears at the queen. The spider empress stopped as she raised her arms to block the attack. Several of her spears pierced through her arms, infecting her with the curse damage.
"You think that will be enough to stop me?!"
"Not really," She said, standing below the hole. "But I hope this will!"
She then snapped her fingers and zipped through the hole in seconds. Behind her, she heard multiple explosions along with the queen's scream before it died out in an instant. She didn't even bother to look back, praying that this plan of hers was going to work. She ascended from the hole until she finally made it back to the surface.
She quickly moved away from the hole and landed on the ground, taking a moment to catch her breath.
"That was too close for comfort..." She groaned.
While resting, she summoned another mana potion from her bracelet before downing it. Tossing the bottle aside, she felt her energy slowly replenish itself.
Hazel knew that the fight wasn't over yet. If this actually killed the queen, then she would've completed the quest by now. It was possible that she likely only severely wounded or weakened the queen. Which meant she was going to show herself sooner or later.
Thankfully, her cooldown for Entropy Sickle was finally over, so she was prepared to finish off the queen when she got the chance. However, there was a chance that her attack would miss, and she would have to come up with another way to finish the queen off.
Her best chance to keep the monster restrained long enough would be her Evil Eyes. She thought about her Telekinesis, but considering her strength, it likely would've been easy for her to break free from her telekinetic restraints. And she didn't want to waste her mana.
Sadly, the web around her eyes was still firmly stuck to her face. Which meant there was no other way to use her Evil Eyes.
Unless...
What if she...
A moment later, she felt the ground beneath her shake, and she could tell that it wasn't from her curse bombs. Which meant only one thing.
"Looks like she really is alive."
While she didn't believe that the queen was dead for obvious reasons, she at least wanted her break to last a little longer before she got back to fighting. Hazel quickly stood back up, not bothering to envelop her body in Telekinesis this time, and waited.
The rumbling got stronger and stronger until she witnessed cracks near her begin to form. Then, something burst from the ground, sending concrete fragments flying everywhere. Hazel shielded her face with her arm before looking over at the person who had just burst from the street. It was the queen.
Pulling herself out from the ground, the spider empress sluggishly stood before Hazel. Her body was completely battered and bruised, which made sense since she did get crushed under all that rubble from the explosion.
Hazel looked at the queen while whistling. "You look pretty banged up. You need a minute before we get back to it?"
"You...destroyed my home...killed my remaining children!" She snarled. "No matter what happens, I will do whatever it takes to...to-!"
Before she said anything else, the queen was stuck in place. It was like her entire body was frozen. And it was because she was under the effects of her evil eye...through one of her Astral Eyes.
Hazel wasn't sure that it would work when she thought of the idea, but after seeing the panel, when she attempted to test it out, she was certain then.
[Would you like to cast Evil Eyes on your Astral Eyes spell?]
As soon as she saw the message panel, Hazel knew what she needed to do. While she didn't think that she could cast her evil eyes on the Astral Eyes spell, she certainly wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Not while she was in her current predicament.
The queen remained completely still, unable to do anything while under the gaze of her evil eye.
"Y-you...you shouldn't-!"
"Yeah, I know. But if it makes you feel any better, I didn't know I could do this either." Hazel raised her hand and summoned her Entropy Sickle. "It's been fun. Well, not really."
"N-no!"
Hazel didn't wait and then hurled her Entropy Sickle at her. The spider empress could do nothing as the spell soon tore through her body, splitting her in half with ease. She watched the two halves of the queen collapse on the ground as both began to deteriorate. A couple of seconds later, she watched as multiple message panels flooded her vision.
