Aaron nodded again, then asked, "Mr. Alket, are mana stones really that precious in the Wizard World?"
Alket gave him a look and said in his hoarse voice, "Yes, Lord Aaron. Mana stones are extremely valuable."
"A single mana stone is enough for an ordinary person to live a lavish life for the rest of their days."
"Even I only earn one broken mana stone per month."
Aaron was stunned. He nodded slowly, his mind already calculating the value of the resources he carried.
Elisa, meanwhile, listened quietly to the conversation. She believed in the principle of equal exchange, and so she was quite.
Aaron continued chatting, "Mr. Alket, if someone wants to join the Wizard Academy, what are the requirements?"
Alket replied in his hoarse tone, "Sir Aaron, to join the Wizard Academy, you must meet the minimum wizard qualification. It's assessed using a crystal orb that tests one's aptitude."
"Beyond that, I don't know much, I've never entered the Light Academy myself."
Aaron paused, then asked, "Do wizards wear different kinds of cloaks based on their rank or identity?"
Alket nodded. "Indeed, Sir Aaron. Each rank has its own robe color."
- Wizard Apprentice: Violet robes
- Formal Wizard: Indigo robes
- Great Wizard: Blue robes
- Grand Wizard: Green robes
"Of course, there are higher-level wizards, but I've never seen one myself."
Aaron nodded in understanding. "Mr. Alket, how many Grand Wizards are in Mosten City?"
Alket thought for a moment. "As far as I know, there are four."
- The City Lord
- The Bloodstone family head
- The Light Academy principal
- The Adventurer Guild Master (also a Tier 4 wizard)
"Beyond them, I don't have any other information."
Aaron stored the information mentally, then asked, "In the Wizard World, are wizards and knights more common than in Verdia Kingdom?"
Alket shook his head. "It's not like that, Sir Aaron."
"Among Wizard Apprentices, only 1 in 500 becomes a full wizard. Only 1 in 1,000 reaches the level of Great Wizard."
"As for Grand Wizards, they're extremely rare."
"The resources needed to advance to that realm are incredibly hard to find."
"That's why, whenever someone discovers a Tier 3 or Tier 4 herb, and reports it to a Wizard Organization or Adventurer Guild, they're heavily rewarded, and protected by wizards."
Alket paused, then continued in his hoarse tone, "As for knights, yes, they are far more numerous here than in the Verdia Kingdom."
"In the Light Faction or Light Empire, it's mandatory for children aged 12 to 15 to undergo Knight training if they don't qualify for wizard aptitude."
"Beyond that, people can still purchase Knight Potions from shops to advance their realm."
"Reaching the Knight Realm isn't difficult, but to become a Great Knight, one must train harder and spend gold coins or broken mana stones to progress."
"As for the Earth Knight Realm and above, those are rare. Only major factions like the Adventurer Guild, Wizard Organizations, or the Light Academy have the resources to train knights to that level."
Aaron nodded. "Okay, I got it."
Aaron ate another lychee and asked, "Does the Wizard World also face undead attacks on the last day of each month?"
Alket's expression turned solemn. He nodded and replied in his hoarse tone, "Yes, Sir Aaron. The Dark Faction started a war two years ago. That's why, on the 30th day of each month, undead attacks occur."
"As for why only on that day, I don't know for sure. But I've heard rumors that Dark Magic is enhanced on the 30th. The Dark Faction sends undead to kill humans in order to gather large amounts of undead energy."
Aaron's eyes narrowed with realization, but he said nothing. He simply stared out the window, his thoughts growing heavier as the clouds drifted past.
Time passed, and the sky began to darken. Aaron, who had been sleeping in his chair, was gently shaken awake by Elisa.
She said in a helpless tone, "Aaron, get up. We've reached the Wizard World."
Aaron opened his eyes, stretched his arms, and replied, "So we've finally arrived, huh?"
Elisa nodded. "Do you want to stay at my house tonight?"
Aaron thought for a moment. "Okay then."
He wasn't familiar with anyone in the Wizard World except Elisa. Though he knew she was cunning, she had kept her word, so he saw no problem in going with her.
Elisa smiled and said playfully, "Alright then. But before we go, how about you give me some lychees first?"
Aaron rubbed his head and said, "Okay."
He handed her another bowl of lychees. Watching her eat so many, he knew she'd probably have a stomachache the next day, he had already warned her about it.
Aaron glanced out the window. From there, he could clearly see Mosten City.
Unlike Starfall City, this place looked beautiful and well-planned.
- Roads were neatly laid out.
- Trees with colorful leaves lined the streets.
- Houses were built of stone, with glowing crystals embedded in glass, illuminating the surroundings.
He saw people walking along the roads, chatting and buying from roadside stalls.
Carriages rolled by, pulled by monster beasts that resembled horses.
Alket soon found a place to land and said, "We've landed. Thank you for using Bloodstone Rides."
Elisa climbed down first. Aaron turned to Alket and said, "Mr. Alket, it was pleasant chatting with you. See you again, if fate favors us."
Alket replied in his hoarse tone, "Of course, Sir Aaron."
Aaron jumped down from the carriage. The first thing he felt was the air, fresh and rich with mana.
It was as if all the pores in his body opened. He finally understood why his home was called the Barren Land.
The mana density here was at least ten times higher. He could recover 50 mana points per hour even without using his Space Ring.
He turned to Elisa and asked, "Where shall we go next?"
Elisa replied, "We'll get your identity card first. After that, we can go to my home."
Aaron nodded. "Okay."
