Since there was nothing to see, Aaron thought for a moment, then took out three wooden bowls.
Under Elina's stunned gaze, he poured out a handful of lychees.
He handed her a bowl and said, "Here, eat this."
Elisa smiled and replied, "Then I won't be polite with you."
She began peeling the skin and started eating with delight.
Aaron walked over to the driver and said, "Mr. Driver, here, eat this. It's a boring journey."
Alket was stunned. He looked at the bowl of fruit, then turned to see his companion already enjoying hers.
He accepted the bowl and said in a hoarse tone, "Thank you."
Aaron replied, "It's okay. Just peel the outer layer before eating. And remember, there's a big seed inside, so spit it out."
Alket had never been treated this way before. He worked for the Bloodstone family, and in his ten years of service, no one had ever offered him food let alone spoken to him with such kindness.
Most people were either intimidated by his voice or treated him like a mere driver.
He followed Aaron's instructions and tasted one lychee. The flavor was so good that he savored it slowly.
Aaron pulled out a chair beside him and said, "My name is Aaron. It's my first time going to the Wizard World."
He paused, then added, "What should I call you, mister? And can you tell me more about the Wizard World?"
Alket replied in his hoarse voice, "My name is Alket. If you don't mind my rough voice, I'll continue."
Aaron waved his hand. "Of course. Please go on."
Alket nodded and began, "The part of the Wizard World you're traveling to belongs to the Light Faction."
Aaron asked curiously, "Are there factions in the Wizard World?"
Alket replied, "Yes. Let me tell you a short story about two legendary figures."
"Lord Makaret and Lord Domoka were the first known Sanit Wizards, Tier 7, of their time. They were close friends and spent most of their lives solving magical mysteries."
"One day, Lord Domoka's lover, Jane, was plagued by an untreatable disease. He tried everything, even with Lord Makaret's help, Jane died."
"In his grief, Domoka began researching forbidden magic the mysteries of bringing the dead back to life."
"Makaret discovered this and tried to stop him. They fought. Domoka eventually formed the Dark Faction, where Black and Dark Magic were born."
"He succeeded in resurrecting Jane, but at the cost of his own life."
"Jane, upon learning of his sacrifice, was devastated. She studied dark magic herself and resurrected Domoka."
"Together, they founded the Dark Faction and ruled over it."
"This story took place hundreds of thousands of years ago."
Aaron couldn't help but comment,
"Love can make people do wonders."
Alket nodded. "Indeed. But the Light and Dark Factions have been at odds ever since."
"So, Sir Aaron, if you're heading to the Light Faction, make sure you never use spells related to the Dark Faction."
Aaron smiled and said, "Hey, I don't know anything about Black Magic at all, so you don't have to worry. By the way, can you tell me something interesting about the Wizard World?"
Alket thought for a moment, then replied, "In fact, Lord Aaron, the Wizard World is quite similar to the cities and towns you've visited in the Verdia Kingdom, except the people here have access to more advanced technology."
"For example, bathrooms, you won't find people loitering around. There are designated places for everything."
"You'll also see many kinds of birds and plants that don't exist in the ordinary world."
"And one more thing, people in the Wizard World, especially in the Light Faction, have access to advanced methods for treating diseases. So, unless the city is attacked by a Dark Magician or monsters, people generally live long, healthy lives."
He paused, then added with a darker tone, "But if you travel to the Dark Faction, it's a completely different story."
"I've only been there once, to escort someone, and I'll never forget what I saw."
"Humans are treated like corpses. Those without wizard talent are used as experimental materials.nAfter that, I never dared to go back."
Aaron nodded thoughtfully, then asked, "Is there any association for rogue wizards?"
Alket popped another lychee into his mouth and replied,
"Of course, Sir Aaron. There are several Wizard Organizations. But be careful, read the contract thoroughly before joining."
"Many rogue wizards join blindly, only to find themselves bound for life."
"Besides Wizard Organizations, there's also the Adventurer Guild. People post tasks there, and adventurers complete them to earn points, which can be redeemed for resources, including mana stones."
Aaron ate a lychee and asked, "Mr. Alket, what's the price of hiring someone like you? I need someone to deliver materials back to my territory."
Alket looked surprised, then shook his head. "Sir Aaron, I've already signed a 30-year contract with the Bloodstone family. Only 10 years have passed."
Aaron sighed. "Okay, Mr. Alket. I understand."
Alket added thoughtfully,
"If you want to hire someone, you can post your task at the Adventurer Guild. Some people travel to the Barren World once a month. You might get lucky."
Aaron nodded again. "Mr. Alket, is there any place where I can sell monster blood and parts?"
Alket immediately replied, "Yes, Sir Aaron. There are several options, Wizard Organizations, the Adventurer Guild, and even some shops that deal in monster materials."
"In my opinion, the Adventurer Guild is the easiest place to sell, but the prices are lower."
"The Wizard Association offers better rates, especially for high-tier parts, Tier 3 and above."
"As for shops, if you don't know the market value, they might cheat you."
"There's one Wizard Organization with a great reputation Khanzar's Wizard Organization. You can safely sell monster parts there."
Aaron nodded. "Thank you, Mr. Alket. Your words will help me a lot. Also, how do I return to my territory?"
Alket replied, "Ah, the Barren Land. You can return using a teleportation channel, it'll cost you 2 to 3 mana stones and will take you directly to the Verdia Kingdom's Royal Palace."
"Or you can hire a flying beast from the Flying Palace
to take you back."
