From Blade To Spell

Chapter 107: Viola 1

Elina said, "As you can see, we're currently in the outer city. Here, you can easily find rides and inns if you need to stay. But safety at night isn't guaranteed, especially for outsiders. Some bandits tend to loot travelers after dark."

Aaron nodded, his eyes scanning the people around him. He noticed many wore white cloaks, a detail that caught his attention.

As he followed Elina, he could smell the faint fragrance of blooming flowers lining the roadside, a refreshing scent that lingered in the air.

He also saw glowing crystals embedded along the path,

casting a soft orange light that made the city feel magical.

He couldn't help but ask, "Miss Elina, can I buy those glowing stones?"

Elina raised an eyebrow. "You want to take them back to your territory, don't you?"

Aaron nodded.

She replied, "You can visit the Teline River, just a few kilometers from here. Fishermen sell them at cheap prices."

Aaron's eyes lit up. "What's the cost of one?"

Elina explained, "It varies based on the glow and color. Blue and violet stones go for 1–2 copper coins. Green costs around 5 copper coins, and orange ranges from 10 to 20 copper coins."

Aaron nodded in understanding.

Elisa then said, "We've reached the place."

She led Aaron to the Administrative Building, where soldiers patrolled the area with quiet vigilance.

Inside, the building was calm. Aaron saw five clerks behind glass cabinets, writing on papers. Another person moved between them, collecting and processing documents.

Just then, a beautiful bird flew overhead. It resembled a parrot from Aaron's past life, except for the crystal embedded in its head.

The bird hovered above them. Elisa leaned in and whispered, "Don't worry, Aaron. That's an Aper Bird, known for its appraisal abilities. Also… don't be surprised if it curses you."

Aaron watched the bird curiously. Suddenly, it flew in front of him and squawked loudly:

"Aber! Aber! There is a Lord Great Wizard visiting us! Aber! Aber! There is an Earth Knight visiting us!"

The surrounding people turned to look at the two strangers. Elisa was stunned. The bird's declaration froze her mind.

She turned to Aaron, or rather, Lord Aaron, and stammered, "A…Lo…Lord Aaron… were the Aper Bird's words true?"

Aaron sighed. "Well… how to say… my realm is indeed that of a Great Wizard."

Elisa was left speechless, her thoughts spinning in disbelief.

Meanwhile, Viola, who had been preparing to end her shift, heard the Aper Bird's voice.

She rushed downstairs, thinking, "Which Great Wizard came to the administration building? Did someone make a mistake?"

Upon arrival, she was stunned to see the bird hovering over two young people.

Her enchanted glasses revealed their true age, sixteen years old.

She was so shocked she didn't know what to say.

Even the greatest genius in Mosten City, Flafer, had taken 80 years to reach the Great Wizard realm.

Viola took a deep breath, calmed herself, and stepped forward.

"Respected Lord Great Wizard, what can I do for you?" She bowed slightly in respect.

Aaron glanced at Elisa, who was still muttering in a daze.

He cleared his throat. "Ahem. I've come to get an identity card. I'll be staying here for a while."

Viola snapped to attention. "Respected Lord Great Wizard, please come with me."

Aaron followed her, gently patting Elisa's shoulder as she trailed behind, still in shock.

A few minutes later, Aaron took a sip of the blue liquid he'd been given. It was said to be made from the Bluekris plant. He didn't know much about the plant, but as soon as he tasted it, his eyes lit up.

The drink had a sweet mint flavor and instantly energized him.

Elisa, on the other hand, took a cautious sip, and was stunned. She felt her mental power grow slightly stronger. She sipped slowly, whispering to herself, "Fortunately I didn't do anything reckless… or I might not have known how I died."

Viola watched Aaron closely. He had carelessly downed the entire drink in one gulp. Yet, aside from looking a bit more energetic, there were no signs of increased mental power.

That confirmed it for her, the young man before her had truly reached the Great Wizard Realm.

She took a deep breath and asked, "Respected Lord Great Wizard, may I know your noble name?"

Aaron replied calmly, "Aaron."

She continued, "Lord Aaron, may I ask the reason for your visit?"

Aaron thought for a moment. "Buying supplies."

Viola's expression turned strange. Elisa, amused by the reaction, took a deep breath and added, "Respected Miss Viola, Lord Aaron comes from the Barren Land, located below Experimental Land Number 1."

Viola froze. Her brain stalled for a moment. The news was too much to process.

She stood up abruptly and said, "Lord Aaron, please excuse me. I need a minute."

She walked into the back room, closed the door, inserted a mana stone into the socket, and screamed.

"What the f*ck kind of joke is this? Someone from the Barren Land became a Great Wizard at sixteen?"

She screamed again, venting her frustration.

At twenty-five, she was considered a prodigy for reaching Wizard level, but this?

This was absurd.

After a few seconds, she calmed herself, opened a drawer, and pulled out a blue badge token.

Before leaving, she removed the mana stone the room had been modified with silence and anti-detection spells so she could slack off when needed.

Back outside, she placed the badge on the desk and pressed a paper against it.

The paper burned to dust within seconds, and Aaron's name appeared on the badge in Wizard language.

Viola took a deep breath, handed the badge to Aaron, and said, "Lord Aaron, are you recruiting people under you? If you wish, I can quit my job and join you."

Aaron was stunned. Elisa was shocked, and suddenly realized she had nearly missed a golden opportunity.

She quickly added, "Lord Aaron, me too. If you need any help, please let me know."

Just as she finished speaking, she felt a chill run down her spine.

She turned around and saw Miss Viola staring at her, with a smile that was anything but friendly.

Elisa's face turned pale.
