El dodged quickly, but the Giant Flame Beast's attack was even faster. Just as he moved, the Giant Flame Beast swung its tail, the burning fireball at the end of the tail like a flail, whipping toward El. A whistling sound echoed, and the fireball trailed a long flame in the air. Focusing only on dodging the flames spewed by the Giant Flame Beast, El did not anticipate that this seemingly clumsy beast would have such tactics. By the time he noticed the tail coming his way, it was already too late.
Shocked, El could only hold his spear horizontally. As black light burst forth, the fireball was already upon him. With a boom, El felt as if he had fallen into a pool of fire. Waves of heat swept over his body continuously, and the protective wind force around him shattered completely from the impact. Flames attacked him, and he felt as if all his hair was being burned; the air he breathed in felt as hot as boiling water, causing his lungs to feel an intense heat.
The massive impact made El cough up a mouthful of blood, which evaporated instantly in the high temperature as soon as it left his lips. The powerful impact directly sent El flying. Completely engulfed in flames, he looked like a fire meteor rapidly crashing toward the ground. With a loud crash, El's entire body was buried in the earth, but the flames around him continued to burn fiercely.
After sending El flying, the Giant Flame Beast twisted its body to charge at the spot where El had landed. As its massive body began to turn, a faint silver glow flashed beneath the Giant Flame Beast's feet. Amidst the flashing light, a human figure suddenly shot up from beneath the Giant Flame Beast. Shu, with his right hand controlling a silver thread, swiftly flew past the Giant Flame Beast.
His right hand flicked repeatedly, the wind force gathered on the thread constantly pulsing, controlling the whole thread like a living creature. No one knew what material the thread was made of, as it remained resilient even when wrapped around the flaming Giant Flame Beast. Shu appeared so suddenly, and his flying speed was so fast, that the Giant Flame Beast, with its attention fixed on El, did not notice. Soon Shu maneuvered the thread around the Giant Flame Beast's neck a few times, then gave a strong pull, using immense force to tilt the Giant Flame Beast's body to the side.
However, the strength of a person is greatly different from that of a beast, and it was the same even for a Superpower User like Shu. The powerful force had just barely tilted the Giant Flame Beast when it let out a roar, immediately steadied itself and twisted its neck with great force. Shu, who was flying forward, was suddenly pulled back by the Giant Flame Beast.
Shu never expected this lumbering beast to react so quickly and be so strong. Fortunately, he had only been using his right hand to control the thread, without winding it around his hand. When he felt himself being pulled backward, he quickly withdrew the wind force from his hand. A twang resounded, and the thread wrapped around the Giant Flame Beast, with the wind force condensed on the thread erupting instantly.
A howling wind rose, and razor-sharp wind blades struck the Giant Flame Beast, creating sparks. The wind blades were too weak and could not cut through the thick skin and flesh of the Giant Flame Beast.
Struggling to stabilize himself in the air, Shu quickly descended, his right index finger pointing out to release a strand of wind force. The other end of the thread was immediately pulled over. Not daring to delay, Shu, as soon as he tugged on the thread, quickly retracted it, then plunged downward, passing directly under the Giant Flame Beast's belly.
Enraged roars erupted from the Giant Flame Beast as it watched another ant-like creature daring to mock it, becoming even more ferocious. It bellowed fiercely and chased after Shu, who had passed beneath it. But as soon as the Giant Flame Beast stepped forward, it felt its six legs being restrained by something, causing its massive body to uncontrollably fall to one side.
The Giant Flame Beast, as massive as a small mountain, crashed to the ground with a thunderous noise. The people in Yu'an City felt the ground tremble with the impact. They could hardly believe that two people alone could bring down the almost invincible Giant Flame Beast. While the Giant Flame Beast remained ferociously threatening, its destructive capability was greatly reduced after losing its mobility. Just as the city's people were about to cheer, a fireball suddenly shot into the sky from the ground.
El, who had been sent flying by the Giant Flame Beast, finally regained his senses, charging into the air. Wind force surged around him, and with a roar, the flames surrounding him exploded away. El, a bit disheveled, emerged. Wiping nonexistent ash from his nose, El muttered, "I almost got burned alive." He then saw the Giant Flame Beast, still thrashing, trying to break free from the restraints on its six feet.
Terrifying roars continued to erupt from the Giant Flame Beast's mouth. Evidently, after being knocked down, its fierceness had not diminished but increased. Shu, who held the thread, dared not approach the Giant Flame Beast. The creature emitted an unbearable heat akin to a huge furnace. Even with protective wind force, Shu did not dare advance recklessly, let alone attempt to kill this fierce beast. All he could do was tighten the thread binding the Giant Flame Beast's legs to prevent it from breaking free.
When Shu saw El flying in, he asked with a worried expression, "What now?" It was impossible to get close, make it impossible to kill the Giant Flame Beast. Would they have to leave such a menace outside the city? Shu knew he could not hold the beast down for long.
El opened his hand, summoning back the spear that had been knocked away, then squinted, scrutinizing the howling Giant Flame Beast for a spot to deliver a fatal blow. Alas, the beast was massive, with thick skin and flesh, even if there were weaknesses, it would take considerable force to pierce its dense exterior.
Gripping the spear tighter, El hovered above, searching for the Giant Flame Beast's weak point. Knowing time was limited, he quickly sought a spot to strike. Soon, he selected the crack on the Giant Flame Beast's forehead as his target. Wisps of flame continuously spurted from the fissure, resembling a small volcanic crater.
Stopping less than ten meters from the Giant Flame Beast, El invoked wind force to shield himself from the beast's surrounding heat. Then, he began to draw upon his internal wind force, channeling it into the spear. Invisible and colorless wind erupted from the spearhead, merging with the black light bursting from it to form a black ram's horn wind. A whistling sound echoed from the spearhead, and the tremendous vibration almost wrenched the whole spear from El's grasp.
With a low shout, El dove headfirst, thrusting his spear towards the crack on the Giant Flame Beast's forehead. The wind force, entwined with black light, formed a ram's horn wind that whistled through the flames surrounding the Giant Flame Beast. Like a stone thrown into a tranquil lake, El's strike caused the flames around the Giant Flame Beast to ripple, oscillating the flickering light over the wilderness outside the city. The already distorted air grew even more twisted, making it nearly impossible to discern El's actions.
The fierce spear force, even before reaching the Giant Flame Beast's forehead, broke through the giant's protective red light, opening a bowl-sized hole. Feeling the unmatchable spear force, the Giant Flame Beast bellowed in terror, its six eyes fixated on El as the crack on its forehead widened further. A burst of flames erupted, sweeping toward the descending El. To save itself, the Giant Flame Beast unleashed the most ferocious attack it could muster.
