Chapter 994: Truly Encountered It

Casually throwing the Li Xingfeng family to be looked after by the group of seven led by Babu, Shu and El transformed into wind at an even faster speed, rushing toward the approaching Giant Flame Beast. The people on the city walls were shocked by their suicidal actions, unable to utter even a cry of surprise. However, Babu and his group excitedly shouted in chaos, believing that the Divine Envoy was omnipotent, even when facing such ferocious and brutal beasts.

The Li Xingfeng family, caught by Babu and the others, watched Shu and El transform into wind in dumbfounded shock. Everything happened too quickly, leaving them no time to react. They had barely escaped the edge of death, and before they could catch their breath, they were already far away in Yu'an City. After experiencing such a thrilling and rapid escape, as ordinary people, they hadn't yet recovered their senses.

The people on the city walls were stunned. They had never heard of anyone daring to confront a Giant Flame Beast, not even among their fellow Superpower Users. Yet now, right before their eyes, two madmen were running toward the Giant Flame Beast after having reached a safe place. The people on the walls forgot to run because they were stunned by the actions of those two peculiar individuals.

Shu and El didn't consider how their actions would shock others, charging straight toward the Giant Flame Beast with extreme speed. With a gentle flick of his hand, a nearly transparent silver wire appeared around Shu, invisibly and soundlessly entangling him. Threads of Wind Force enveloped it, emitting a faint whistling sound, while El removed a cloth bundle tied to his waist. With a casual shake, he revealed a pitch-black long spear. The heavy long spear fell into his hand, and as soon as El infused Wind Force into it, the spear trembled, and a whistling sound erupted, with a flash of black light covering the originally dark spear.

Upon seeing the black light, El felt a sense of familiarity, as it emitted the same black light as the tree spears used by Babu and his group. The entire spear was made from sections of those tree spears, and if not needed, it could be disassembled and stored in a bag, ready to be quickly assembled when needed. When El first received the spear, he had only assembled it once and hadn't carefully examined or used it. Only now did he discover the spear's mysterious properties.

Made from vine, it was somehow heavier than a steel one, yet the weight was just right for El to exert his maximum strength. With a gentle flick of his hand, the spear's tip brought forth a black Light Screen, but the Wind Force infused didn't break through the black light. Despite only having used it briefly, El immediately took a liking to the long spear.

Having obtained a handy weapon, El let out a long howl, speeding toward the Giant Flame Beast by three-fold. "Find a way to divert the Giant Flame Beast's direction, don't let it charge into the city," El shouted to Shu while rushing forward.

El didn't need to remind Shu; he already had it planned. The two had been fighting together for a long time, naturally developing a tacit understanding. As soon as El spoke, Shu let out a sharp whistle, suddenly sinking downward as nearly transparent threads explored forward silently.

Their speed was already extremely fast, and with the Giant Flame Beast charging toward them too, it didn't take long for them to engage it at close range. Shu flicked his threads, which, almost like living creatures, wrapped around the Giant Flame Beast's feet.

As Shu made his move, El flew straight toward the Giant Flame Beast's head. Adding to the diversion for Shu, he chose the method that most easily attracted the Giant Flame Beast's attention. El's seemingly suicidal maneuver indeed caught the Giant Flame Beast's notice.

The Giant Flame Beast fixated its six eyes on El as he approached. At El's side, the beast let out a low growl, and suddenly, two beams of red light shot from its eyes toward El. These beams didn't form flames, just projecting red light toward El. Meanwhile, the Giant Flame Beast's strides continued, heading for Yu'an City, having smelled plenty of humans from afar. For such a fierce, brutal beast, humans were the finest delicacy, paying no mind to the ant-like being diverting its attention.

While advancing, the Giant Flame Beast opened its jaws to bite at El mid-air. From its experience, anything enveloped by its red light would be immobilized for a time, during which it could devour the fixed prey.

The Giant Flame Beast's habit wasn't wrong, but it had met the wrong person today.

El with a weapon was completely different from El without one. Seeing the enveloping red light, El unhesitatingly thrust his spear, and black light burst forth with Wind Force, like a black bullet flying toward the red light. How fast this was—within mere breaths, the black light tore through the red light, whistling toward the Giant Flame Beast's open mouth spewing flames. El watched as the fiery maw approached to bite him, quickly sank down avoiding its lethal snap with precision.

With a cracking boom and scorching flames, anyone caught in the Giant Flame Beast's bite would be burned alive, even if not bitten to death. But El wasn't caught. As soon as he evaded the bite, his figure flickered, reappearing before the six eyes of the Giant Flame Beast. Without hesitation, he struck with a fast, unpretentious thrust.

The Wind Force entangled with black light assaulted one of the Giant Flame Beast's eyes with a ripping momentum. This swift, fierce thrust propelled by Wind Force and black light reached incredible speed. Nevertheless, the Giant Flame Beast wasn't slow; sensing the thrust's power, it roared, and a horn-like protrusion on its forehead split open, spewing flames.

The fierce flames surged toward El. Although the spear's black light could neutralize superpowers, it was limited compared to such intense flames. After advancing only a short distance, El felt the scorching air around, heat waves surging in, with flames breaking through his Protective Wind Force, nearly singingeing his hair. Startled, El quickly flicked his spear, raising a black Light Screen before retreating rapidly. Faced with such flames, he had no choice but to dodge.

As El retreated, the Giant Flame Beast pursued relentlessly. The beast appeared clumsy but wasn't, and compared to other wild beasts, they had attained some wisdom. Enraged by the ant-like creature's antics, it snarled, its mane igniting instantly, its tail's Fireball now nearly two meters in diameter.

Covered in flames, the Giant Flame Beast unleashed intense heat waves, instantly drying and burning the nearby vegetation to ashes. With each step, fire waves radiated forth, enveloping El, who dared not engage or attack the flaming beast directly. Though he refrained from offense, the Giant Flame Beast wouldn't wait.

Before reaching El, the Giant Flame Beast belched thick black smoke, whose roaring sound resounded. The black smoke flared with fire, and within a heartbeat, fire shot forth, sweeping toward El. More potent than the flames on its forehead, El didn't hesitate to evade its edge.
