Chapter 1359: Supreme Morningstar Clan 3
"There is a new system that has been introduced specifically for clans like ours led by the Immortal Adventurers that will change the landscape of the entire system going forward. This system is important for the development of the clan and will leave all traditional native clans in the dust."
Eva spoke freely, because at this point, NPCs understood that Immortal Adventurers had special benefits in the form of the game system, which many of the wives had benefited from through the clan. The children themselves were patiently and eagerly waiting for their own panels to activate, so pretending that it was something else would be detrimental.
"Previously, we introduced the Altar of Awakening which changed clan dynamics since it allowed bloodline purity and contribution to be measured and rewarded objectively, removing favoritism from our structure entirely." Eva continued calmly, her voice smooth but commanding.
She glanced around at the familiar faces of her fellow Clan Elders - mothers, warriors and beauties alike - then down at the attentive children standing in neat rows at the center of the Clan Square.
"At that time, we finalized the Morningstar Clan's structure. The Ancestors - myself, Draco, and Shuangtian - stand above all, and do not participate in daily clan politics. Zaine, Hikari, and Roma were appointed Ancestral Clan Mistresses, while Rina, Jada and Jade were later brought in as the Immortal Clan Mistresses, holding authority second only to us. You, the Clan Elders, formed the foundational body of governance and training for the next generations."
Eva's expression softened slightly. "All your children were designated as the official second generation of our Clan, their status immutable regardless of their mothers' prior rank or background. We made it clear: rank among you was to be determined by individual strength, not origin, while the children would be ranked by bloodline purity. Merit-based resource allocation was set as the backbone of our clan doctrine, using the Altar of Awakening as the central pillar."
She paused briefly, letting that sink in before gesturing around to the structured town now sprawling at the heart of the Morningstar Plane. "That was more than twelve years ago. Since then, all of you have proven yourselves. The former Goddess Descendants have neared True Godhood in their respective Tradeskills, and the former human maids have each become powerhouses through dedication and diligence. The Clan Elders now number 60, and your children - over 150 strong - are being trained in both mind and body, guided by custom programs created personally by The Clan Patriarch, Draco."
"Our town is completely self-sustaining, with every vital Tradeskill and resource accounted for by our talented elders." Eva stated proudly.
She turned to the children directly, her voice warm yet firm. "You are no longer just heirs. You are the future lords and ladies of this entire world, and soon, many of you will awaken your panels and enter the game system fully. The time is approaching when you will take your first steps as true Immortal Adventurers, albeit in part."
Eva now spread her arms wide as she concluded. "And just in time, this new clan system has arrived. It is designed specifically for clans like ours, those led by Immortal Adventurers. It will elevate our structure, enhance your growth, and redefine the legacy of the Morningstar Clan."
Her eyes glinted with divine authority. "So listen well. What comes next… will change everything."
Eva stood up from the radiant throne shaped like a sun, her golden eyes sweeping across the full assembly of the Morningstar Clan. The square was silent with attention, the mothers still high from pride after their children's recitations, while the youths themselves were buzzing with anticipation.
Many were visibly fidgeting - excited but uncertain - as they waited to learn what new future awaited them.
She let that silence linger for a moment, pressing the weight of what was coming into their hearts.
She then raised a hand and summoned forth a holographic interface glowing with divine light, shaped like a complex tree of interconnected nodes that pulsed with bloodline energy. The moment she did, it also appeared before each and every clan member, NPC or otherwise.
There really wasn't a point in implementing such a system if the clan members couldn't even see it, right?
"This is the new Clan System. It has been integrated by the will of the world specifically to reflect the evolution of Immortal Adventurer bloodlines and clans led by them. You should all feel honored, because this was created in response to the rise of our Morningstar Clan, prompting such change to be made across the board." Eva declared arrogantly, causing the entire family to feel that indeed, this was natural.
She walked slowly down the steps from her throne, each step measured and echoing in the silent square.
"There are three core systems to this new structure."
She gestured to the tree above her. "First, the Clan Bloodline Tree. This is the root of our future and it is split into two parts: the General Board and the Special Board."
"The General Board contains upgrades that are universal to all clans. Things like physical strength multipliers, passive experience gain, increased fertility, faster recovery rates, and resistance to Rank as well as level suppression. Any clan with the resources can purchase these."
Then she pointed to a shimmering section with golden and red nodes at the base of the tree. "The Special Board, however, is unique to each clan. It draws from the bloodline of the Patriarch or the Matriarch as well as their partners. In our case, that means it contains upgrades derived from Draco, myself, Shuangtian… and all of your mothers."
She looked back toward the mothers in the pantheon-like stands, many of whom straightened up with pride at this recognition.
"This system is also built to balance out gender advantages in clan propagation since a male like Draco can spread his lineage quickly. A Clan Matriarch would be limited to her single womb so to balance this, all children of a matriarch will inherit not only her bloodline, but partial heritages from each of her selected partners."
She chuckled. "Naturally, you all should know which of your mothers are matriarchs, which… is none of them. Our entire structure rests on Draco as the singular Patriarch, but in future generations, the line may split, and we may gain additional branches. That's when this system will matter even more."
She allowed that information to settle before raising another glowing node.
"The second feature is the Clan War System. Clan Wars allow us to challenge or be challenged by other bloodline-based clans in the world."
She glanced around, her eyes glinting with power.
"This will be the crucible through which your names are forged. You will not just compete against each other for status within the clan… but soon, your enemies will be the blood descendants of Supreme Pantheon members in the Divine Realm, Ancient Clans in the various Side Realms, and Old Era warlords who hid in the unmapped zones. This is not just a possibility, it is inevitable. So prepare yourselves."
The children tensed up at this while the mothers displayed a range of pride and worry. Eva smiled slightly and delivered the final point.
"And lastly, the Clan Alliance System."
A new structure appeared beside the tree, this one resembling a web of connected lines between different clan icons.
"Through intermarriage and political union, our Morningstar Clan can absorb or merge with other powerful bloodline clans, thereby gaining access to parts of their Clan Bloodline Tree. If we choose our allies wisely, we can form a network of interconnected forces that are all loyal to the Morningstar banner."
She turned back toward the children and raised her finger to point directly at them. "You are the second generation and your growth, as well as your choices, will determine which paths we take. If we rise, it will be because of you. And if we fall… it will also be because of you."
She let those words linger for just a moment longer before lowering her hand.
"This is the new Clan System. Learn it, master it and use it."
With that, the bloodline tree interface and alliance web faded, and the square erupted into whispered discussion and excitement, both children and mothers already mentally racing to see how they would use the system to advance their ranks or protect their current ones.
Eva simply turned away and returned to her throne, her eyes distant as she thought of what lay ahead.
For now though, the first phase of her job was done.
Now was to actually apply the upgrades, especially in terms of the Bloodline Tree.
Seated on her throne, she she saw that the general board was a fixed path tree, with the first node being something that all clans would definitely invest in.
Node 1: Increase Clan Fertility by 5%. (Locked)
As one could expect, there was a special currency attached to this system that was necessary for the upgrades. It was called Clan Points and they could be generated by three main ways.
The first was through clan evaluation, which was done automatically by the AI every month, judging your clan's overall quality based on various factors and then awarding points on the spot. This was how most clans grew their points in the previous timeline.
The second was through successful Clan Wars.
Naturally when initiating such conflicts, there had to be some form of compensation, and just like with Guild Wars or Kingdom Wars, there was the system based reward as well as the natural rewards. System based rewards were the things the AI directly handed out to you as a player, often involving special items currencies or things related to the game system for only Immortal Adventurers.
Natural rewards were the things you gained as a part of your success. The territories you occupied, the vaults you looted, the exp from slain foes, the things pillaged, all of that. Some might be officiated by the system as system rewards, but that was even better because with system recognition, it could be integrated with the game-like features.
The payout of Clan Points from Clan Wars was rich, but these wars were not easy to win. Not to mention that this involved ones own blood and flesh family, so unless you had a hard heart, you would not be willing to put them in the meat grinder easily.
The third and final method was the one that was hardly ever used by players of the last timeline and was even forgotten, but Eva was able to dig it up.
Buying!
That's right, you could buy Clan points from the system, right from the comfort of your Clan Management Panel!
And what did it cost?
Well, an arm and a leg.
Not literally, but like with most high level features of the game, the good old Aether Crystal was also useful here. The exchange rate for Clan Points to Aether Crystals was direct, with 1 Clan Point being equal to 1 low grade Aether Crystal, but lets not forget that this resource was still scarce in the world.
Even though the dragon race had been revived and was now rapidly growing, with a new generation of younglings haven been born, their Aether Crystals were still being occupied by the Vita Divine Empire who traded with them first and foremost to maintain various facilities.
The trickle down to normal players, even some members of Umbra, was next to zero, much less to the rest. So for the most part, no one could afford to use method three because the gains did not make up for the losses.
But who asked the Morningstar Clan to have so many Aether Crystals that they even surpassed the Ancient Dragon Race in terms of total value?
Exchange for this Celestial Goddess!!
Eva sold all their low level Aether Crystals, which hardly had any use anymore since all the dragons in the family produced top grade ones per quarter hour, to the Clan System, gaining nearly a hundred thousand Clan Points.
Immediately, she bought all the nodes on the General Board, lighting it up so fast that it formed a resplendent glow in front of her. While Eva felt satisfied by this, her face changed as she glanced down to the rest of the clan, of which the children were undergoing great changes.
