The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 460: Sneaking Out Every Night

Chapter 460: Chapter 460: Sneaking Out Every Night

"I’m home." After climbing two flights of stairs, Cokie opened the door and flipped the camera to the dog lying under a dining chair.

It was a black and white Border Collie.

"His name is Oreo, and he’s a boy," Cokie explained. "He’s been like this every day lately. He just lies around, completely still. He’s lost interest in everything, he won’t go for walks, and he doesn’t respond when I call him."

With that, Cokie tried calling out, "Oreo! Oreo!"

"That is quite strange," Renee Jennings murmured, frowning slightly.

"Exactly, Ms. Jennings," Cokie said, squatting beside Oreo with a worried expression. "Can you please help me ask Oreo what’s wrong?"

Oreo’s ears twitched, and he let out a faint whimper.

’Ugh, so sleepy... Could you not disturb my sleep?’

’Stop talking and let me sleep. I have to go find Crystal and play with her tonight!’

’Crystal said she’s going to show me her new dance. I have to be energetic tonight... ’

Hearing him muttering to himself, Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow, a look of understanding on her face.

She chuckled. "Oreo, are you going to find Crystal tonight?"

The drowsy Oreo absentmindedly replied, ’Yeah, I’m going to find Crystal tonight.’

"Crystal?" Cokie was instantly curious. "Who’s Crystal?"

Oreo snapped awake, an ’Oh, crap’ running through his mind.

"Cokie," Renee Jennings surmised, "the reason Oreo has no energy during the day is probably because he isn’t sleeping at night. He’s been running off to find someone named Crystal."

As for who this Crystal was, they’d have to ask Oreo.

Oreo’s eyes widened in astonishment. He stared at his owner’s phone in disbelief. ’Oh my god, oh my god! The person in the phone can actually understand me?’

Cokie’s brows furrowed, her voice laced with a hint of anger. "Oreo, who is Crystal?"

Oreo jumped in fright, recoiling. He peeked at Cokie. ’Mom, are you trying to scare me to death?’

Cokie reached out and grabbed his ear, saying irritably, "How dare you look at me like that? Spill it. Who is Crystal? You sleep all day, have you been sneaking out at night?"

’I’m not telling!’ With that, Oreo bolted. He used the TV cabinet as a springboard to leap onto the standing air conditioner unit.

[This little guy is so naughty hahaha]

[Wow, Oreo’s got skills!]

[He’s gone wild! Sleeping all day so he can go out and play at night. What a rebel! He needs to be disciplined!]

"Oreo, get down from there!" Cokie shouted.

Oreo: "No way! You’ll totally beat me up if I come down!"

"Oreo is afraid you’ll hit him," Renee Jennings said softly.

Hearing that, Cokie’s eyes darted. Her expression changed in a flash, and she said with a laugh, "Oreo, it’s too dangerous up there! What if you fall? Hurry and come down. Mommy promises she won’t hit you."

Oreo: "I don’t believe you!"

Renee Jennings: "He doesn’t believe you."

Cokie: "..."

[Hahaha, what a smart doggo]

[This is hilarious]

Cokie took a deep breath and said with forced patience, "Oreo, be a good boy and come down first. Let’s have a proper chat. I’m just worried about your health."

"Really?" Oreo asked skeptically.

Cokie: "Good boy, Oreo. You’re my favorite baby. Come on down, let’s talk this out."

Oreo, somewhat convinced by her coaxing, jumped down from the air conditioner. He approached cautiously. ’Mom, you really won’t hit me, will you?’

Cokie reached out her hand and gently stroked his head. "Good boy, Oreo, just tell Mommy who Crystal is."

When Oreo heard this, he flinched, but this time he didn’t run. Instead, he asked tentatively, ’If I tell you, will Mom hit me?’

Renee Jennings relayed his words at just the right moment.

Cokie beamed at Oreo. "Of course not. You’re Mommy’s good boy. Why would Mommy ever hit you?"

[I feel like Cokie’s smile is hiding a dagger!]

[Oreo walked right into the honey trap.]

[You fell for it, little dude.]

Oreo finally relaxed and started yipping excitedly. ’Crystal is a human girl who’s really pretty, speaks really gently, and is super, super nice to me!’

When Renee Jennings heard this, a flicker of surprise crossed her eyes.

’I didn’t expect Crystal to be a human.’

After hearing Renee’s translation, Cokie said with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes, "And then? How did you meet this Crystal?"

[LMAO, Cokie’s smile is getting twisted]

[Oreo, you’re in for a beating now.]

Oreo: ’One night I couldn’t sleep. I was really bored and wanted Mom to take me out to play, but I was afraid I’d wake her up, so I went for a walk by myself.’

Cokie said with a smile, "Oreo, I had no idea you were so thoughtful."

Oreo continued his explanation. ’That was the night I met Crystal. She thought I was a stray with no home, and she even went and bought yummy food to feed me.’

’Crystal told me to wait for her there every night after that. She said she’d feed me delicious things after she got off work.’

Cokie sneered. "So, just for a bit of food, you starve yourself all day and sleep just so you can run out at night?"

’Of course not!’ Oreo shook his head, a hint of pride in his voice. ’Crystal said she gets a little scared jogging by herself at night, and she asked me to keep her company so she’d feel safer.’

Renee Jennings: "..."

She pursed her lips, hesitating a little.

When Cokie saw that she didn’t translate immediately this time, she asked in confusion, "Ms. Jennings, what’s wrong?"

In the end, Renee Jennings translated every single word for her.

Cokie: "..."

[This dog is actually pretty thoughtful.]

[You can literally see Cokie’s face getting darker hahaha]

[Just hit him already! As a dog owner, this is infuriating!]

[This little fella. Does he even know who his owner is?]

Cokie let out a dry laugh. "And so you sneak out every night while I’m sleeping to find Crystal, is that it?"

’Yeah!’ Oreo nodded enthusiastically. ’Can I go to sleep now? I have to go watch Crystal dance tonight!’

Cokie was at a loss for words. She said sarcastically, "Then why don’t you just go home with that Crystal of yours? Why even bother coming back here?"

To this, Oreo replied, ’Crystal said she loves dogs and really wants one, but her family won’t let her, so she can only feed strays outside.’

Even Renee Jennings felt this dog deserved to be disciplined.

Cokie clenched her fists. "So if Crystal’s family agrees to let her have a dog, would you really go home with her?"

Oreo’s survival instincts suddenly kicked in. ’Mom, I would never go home with someone else!’ he said hurriedly. ’My home is here, and you’re here! I’m not going to anyone else’s house!’
