The Rise of Quetzalcoatl

Chapter 297: School (2)

"Why give me a study room when I barely need it? I mean, the subjects shouldn't be that hard, right?"

And just like that, I jinxed myself for the rest of my entire school life.

"How were your classes?" My maid of ice greeted me as she took my bag and led me to the dining room, where a few snacks had already been prepared.

"T-Too hard… I don't understand a thing…." I muttered since this wasn't near anything I had been previously learning.

At the ripe old age of a few months, I had already been practicing something called algebra and dabbling in the work of geometry and trigonometry… yet for some reason, I'm doing something called calculus.

"W-Why was everybody there so much older than me!? Did I get the wrong schedule?!" I complained while munching on the snacks angrily.

"Mistress told me you wanted to help out with Tolf… so I placed you in some of the classes that will require you to think a bit since decisions are everything that you will do at the top. There isn't much calculation, but these classes will really help you think,"

"Oh… Tch… Okay," I clicked my tongue, as I did kind of put this on myself.

"Young Miss, did you make any friends?" A silky voice permeated through the air, and right there, the maid of death appeared in front of me, grabbing my hand and lightly kissing it to greet me.

"N-No… Everybody, there was like double my physical age. There is no way I could ever become friends with them…."

"If you hate this so much, I can absolutely pull you out of this school… Remember, problem-solving is the biggest and most important skill you'll need in the future,"

"I-I can problem solve…."

"Hmmm… Then I'll give you an example… Let's see… The Emporer of Japan has finally found the whereabouts of your mother, and he sends army after army to harass and exhaust all of her manpower until she either dies or surrenders… and there you are left… will you defend your mother will all of your life or surrender to save your own life,"

"I will defend my mother will all of my life," I sternly replied, yet it seemed the maid wasn't finished explaining.

"Even with this second chance of yours?" She asked, and I began to sweat profusely as the maid's eyes slowly opened, unfurling like a pair of claws that threatened to cut me into bits, leaving me to be eaten by rabid beasts.

"W-What are you talking about?" I stuttered, but my shifting eyes didn't help my case… so I just gave up. "You knew all this time?"

"Indeed."

"Did she know all this time?"

There was a long silence between me and my maids only the maid of fire entered the room did I finally get an answer.

"She's known for quite a while…."

"Then… Yes, I'll protect her with my life. If she was able to give an asshole like me a second chance at redemption… then I would definitely give up my life for her,"

The maids all lightly chuckled with polite smiles before the maid of death finally spoke up, impressed by my solid determination.

"That's a good mindset… but the wrong answer,"

"There was a wrong answer? Why would there be a wrong answer for that? Are you saying I should surrender and leave my mother to feel betrayed?"

"Nope… the right answer would be to hide deep within the castle and let whatever happens to your mother, happen. You are the heir to one of the thrones of Tolf… well, possibly two of the thrones if the Mistresses decide not to have a second child,"

"But that wasn't part of the options you gave me,"

"Fufufu… Were you really a queen? Or did you just have that many advisors?" The maid almost seemed to taunt me, and I looked down at my feet which dangled off the side of the chair, attempting to scrape the marble floor below.

"I see… I won't make the same mistake again," I muttered, immediately understanding the lesson.

What she essentially said, in the most basic terms, was to consider all options that not only take into account my present and other presents but also the future of my allies and myself… so essentially, just think outside the box.

"I'm sorry… I was more of a fighter in my past life… not a thinker. I had a single advisor who helped me with pretty much everything… so, I don't know much about planning…." I muttered, lowering my head to the women who obviously knew of my previous nature.

"Please don't apologize, young miss, and never bow your head towards us. We are but humble servants of yours truly… use us as you wish," The three maids kowtowed in unison, displaying their utmost loyalty and respect toward me.

"I will be the best Master you could ever hope for,"

"We shall be looking forward to the day you ascend the throne… young miss,"

About a week had passed of extremely stressful work nearly out of my grasp, yet now I was getting the hang of it.

My maids have been extremely helpful in not only assisting me with my work that slightly puzzled them, but also in helping me train with this new body of mine.

Not only did I have a new body, but also a new status with brand new skills that I desperately needed to hone as I was getting my ass kicked in these high-level classes.

Once again, I was facing up against a bunch of late teens who were cocky as hell and didn't mind beating the shit out of a defenseless young teen.

From what I heard, the maids said they were all around B-rank level, which apparently is extremely strong for most humans… but that didn't matter to me as I was going to crush them soon.

"Would you like a glass of water?" My maid of ice asked as my maid of death helped clean up and ease some of the bruises on my body and face.
