After running into Zoe and her guild members, Hazel took them to a secluded area of the jetport building and told them the gist of what was happening, along with her plan. At first, they couldn't believe what she was telling them, but after giving it some thought, they realized that what she told them could very well happen.
With this knowledge, they were now aware of their current circumstances. Kane suggested that they should postpone the meeting, but Hazel quickly rejected that idea before explaining her plan to them regarding what they needed to do. And while hesitant, Zoe listened and decided to go along with her plan.
So, instead of putting the meeting on hold, the Valiant Guild would proceed with their meeting with the Battle Breakers Guild at the hospital. However, they were now aware of the potential ambush and were ready for Dolk's arrival. As for the potential rescuing of Olga, they also had this taken care of by having not only Astrid stay behind but also John and Chegyaeyi as well.
They were the three strongest players who could both handle and prepare for an ambush, so Zoe believed that their base was in safe hands. Now, all they needed to do at the moment was to play along and let everything go according to plan. They will remain oblivious to the potential ambush of Dolk's guild at the hospital and simply believe that they don't expect any trouble at all during their endeavor.
They had to for Hazel's plan to actually work. Otherwise, all of this was for naught. Once she explained everything to Zoe, Kane, and Anais, the trio soon left to likely prepare for their meeting tonight. Meanwhile, Hazel made her way to the rooftop so she could finally get her preparations done as well.
Making it to the top of the building, she walked over to her usual spot before sitting down with her legs crossed. She then placed the book down next to her and pulled out a couple of items she needed for her current task. Those items were the magic ink and several miscellaneous objects she planned to experiment with. As for what she planned to do with them, she was going to do some runecrafting experiments in preparation for what was going to happen tonight.
Sorting through her current supplies, Hazel casually levitated a piece of stone along with her book. Keeping both in the air, she then flipped the pages, through the use of telekinesis as well, to find the specific page she was looking for. She suddenly stopped flipping when she found the page, which displayed a symbol, or in this case, a rune.
Reading the page further, Hazel noted that the rune was called The Rune of Strengthening. It was a rune that was able to enhance the durability of items and the like, making them stronger. In this case, she was planning to strengthen the stone to see what kind of effects it had and how good they were.
Hazel pulled the stone toward her, grasping it in her hand before mentally pulling the magic ink in her direction as well. Once both items were in her hands, she quickly got to work. Using a brush she found in a shop within the Jetport, she carefully inscribed the Strengthening Rune on the stone, making sure to get the detail exactly right.

It stated in the book that if the rune wasn't accurate or identical to the one on the page, then the casting would fail. Which would also result in her wasting her magic ink. Thankfully, she had two vials from her quest and the shaman she had killed previously. Still, she didn't want to risk using all of it up at the moment.
After carefully putting the rune on the stone, she mentally placed the magic ink and brush aside and held the stone in her palm. She then closed her eyes and focused on pouring her mana into the stone. The book stated that runecrafting had two steps, which were inscribing the rune and activating it. For the latter, all she needed to do was infuse the stone and the rune with her mana, thus triggering its activation.
She could feel a cold sensation flowing from her core toward her hand before finally pouring into the stone itself. When it did, a subtle, low hum could be heard as she felt the stone slightly vibrate like a phone.
When Hazel opened her eyes to see what had happened, her eyes widened in awe as she stared at the rune stone. The rune that was inscribed was now glowing a bright blue color, giving it a powerful aura.
She examined the stone for a moment, mesmerized by its color and the power it emitted. "It looks like it worked." She smiled, admiring her work. As she did, a new panel suddenly materialized before her very eyes.
[Rune Craft has been successful! Runic Item has been created!]
<Stone of Strengthening> Rank: Uncommon Creator: Hazel Thatcher A piece of stone inscribed with the Rune of Strengthening. Its durability is far superior than normal rocks and won't break as easily. It can be very useful as a projectile weapon.
Hazel examined the panel for a moment, curious about its contents. Specifically, the part where it stated that she was the creator of the item.
"Well, that's new. How come I didn't get anything like this with the other items in my possession, like my arcane dress and veil? Did they not have creators like this stone?"
Hazel theorized that items like her Arcane Dress and Veil were manufactured by the system. However, this theory isn't solid because she obtained her dress in the Fractured world while she received the veil from the system in her Loot Box. While the latter would definitely have been created by the system, the former shouldn't follow this principle.
And yet, for some reason, its status didn't display its Creator. This was very strange. To the point where if Hazel tried to dwell on this for too long, she would develop a headache as a result.
Putting aside that matter, Hazel focused back on her true objective. With the help of telekinesis, she levitated the Stone of Strengthening in the air along with another completely normal stone. With the two stones floating, Hazel proceeded to launch the normal stone at the wall before her.
The stone rocketed toward the wall before colliding and shattering into pieces upon contact. Taking a closer look at the wall, she noticed a few rough scratches on the surface along with bits of the destroyed stone still stuck to it. Aside from that, there was no serious damage done.
"Alright, time to see what you're made of," She said while getting the stone of strengthening in position for its test.
With a mental nudge, Hazel then willed the rune stone to shoot toward the wall like a bullet. Upon collision, instead of shattering into pieces, the stone remained intact and actually lodged itself in the wall as a result.
Hazel stared wide-eyed at the result of her little experiment before a wide and wicked grin manifested on her face. "Oh, yeah, this is going to be fun..."
With her first successful Runecraft trial completed, she was now looking forward to what came next.
