Hexbound Apocalypse [LitRPG Apocalypse] (Book 3 Finished!)

Chapter 159: The Return

After a while, the group made it back to the Valiant Guild's base. During the trip back, Kane and Nick communicated with their respective leaders regarding the situation before coming to a decision.

The Guild that Nick was part of was the Battle Breakers Guild. Hazle didn't bother speaking up about the name and stayed quiet about it. Aside from that, the decision they made was that the valiant guild would hold Simon, Matthew, and Olga as prisoners while also taking in Nick's remaining party.

They were to do this until the two guilds established a meeting where they could talk to one another and discuss the chain of events that had occurred. And due to the issue of possible spies being within the Valiant Guild, much like the Battle Breakers guild, this meeting was currently a secret, and only those involved or high-ranking members of both respective guilds were notified of this plan.

This included Kane, Anais, Zoe, John, and also Chegyaeyi, Astrid, and Hazel. The other players who were part of Hazel's scavenger team were also involved since they were there. However, until they were proven not to be spies of the Black Exiles Guild, these players were kept under surveillance. Because of what Hazel and the others knew, none of them wanted these players to cause trouble, if one of them was potentially a spy and would attempt to alert the Black Exiles.

Even Hazel decided to keep a close eye on the players with the help of her Astral Eyes. Because she's been using it so much, it leveled up again, allowing her to summon more eyes to make it easier to observe things.

Aside from Simon and Matthew, Astrid was tasked with keeping an eye on Olga since she not only knew the dark elf but also knew what she was capable of. That and Astrid was very adamant in observing her, likely because she knew that Olga would likely attempt something.

Another thing to note was that all three prisoners were blindfolded. This was to prevent any of them from knowing where the Valiant Guild's base was. And they were going to stay blindfolded to also keep them from knowing the structure of the building. Especially Simon and Matthew, because both of them were from Earth. And according to Nick, all of them were from Portland, like Hazel and John, which meant they would know where the base is just from their knowledge after living there for so long.

As for Olga, Astrid explained that all dark elves were trained in analyzing their environments, finding all kinds of weak points and such to use to their advantage. Even if Olga didn't know what building she was in, there was a strong possibility that she could easily scan the structure of the Airport base and exploit its discoveries. The last thing any of them needed was to have their enemies know the ins and outs of the building.

Once everyone made it to the front of the building, they all got out, including the prisoners. However, to prevent any of them, especially Olga, was having any chance of feeling out the layout of the Jetport, Hazel was instructed by Astrid to use Telekinesis on them and keep them in the air. This was none of them would have any clue as to where they were going. It was an exceptional plan, so Hazel went along with it and quickly cast her spell on all three.

It was a rather easy feat since she had been tirelessly training this ability. So, once she cast Telekinesis on them, the three prisoners were then lifted into the air, much to their surprise. Despite their protest, however, Hazel and the others ignored them as they made their way inside the building.

As they did, Zoe and Anais were already there to greet them.

"It looks like you all made it back safely," She said with a warm smile.

"Of course," Kane said confidently. "What did you think was going to happen?"

"I would say at least one or two buildings collapsing," Anais chimed in.

Well, there was a massive hole in the hospital building as a courtesy by Olga, so did that possibly count?

No one within Hazel's group said a word before Zoe spoke up again.

"So, those are our prisoners?" She asked, looking up at the three levitating players.

Hazel nodded. "That's right." She then pointed over at Nick and his other two companions, who didn't betray him. "And these guys are from the Battle Breakers Guild."

Zoe turned her gaze toward them while making a small grin. "I see. So, you're the player that Kane and John told me about in the Chat room." She brought her hand up toward Nick. "My name is Zoe Callahan. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Nick returned the gesture and shook her hand with a smile. "I'm Nick Parker. It's a pleasure to meet you as well."

After greeting one another, Zoe pulled away first before getting back to business. "So, I'm assuming you contacted your guild leader, yes?"

Nick nodded. "Yes. She's agreed to meet with you, so all you have to do is name the time and place to meet."

"Then I'll have to consult with John regarding that since he's a former resident of Portland," She declared while turning to John, clearly making sure that he was okay with this.

The gunslinger soldier firmly nodded, which was all Zoe needed to see to confirm their next move.

"While I'm discussing the meeting place with John, we will need to deal with our prisoners," She spared a glance at the three floating prisoners before turning her attention to Anais. "Anais, could you guide Hazel to the makeshift prison we made?"

Anais nodded. "Of course." She then faced Hazel. "Please follow me."

Turning her back to Hazel, the sorceress proceeded to walk away, likely heading to the makeshift prison that Zoe mentioned before. Hazel followed Anais as well as Astrid.

The trio climbed up to the third floor before making their way across the bridge that connected the main building and the parking lot. They then entered the tower building that was attached to the parking lot before coming to a stop.

"Place them over here," Anais pointed at the center of the floor of the building they just entered.

Hazel followed her instructions and placed all three prisoners on the floor. Once they were all placed down, Anais soon walked back over to where the bridge was, which confused Hazel and Astrid.

"Where are you going?" Hazel asked.

"I was tasked with taking you to our makeshift jail, and I have. Now I need to return to our guild leader and assist her in preparations for the meeting."

That made sense. Anais was Zoe's closest ally and clearly her right-hand woman as well. Due to this, the sorceress was obviously a lot busier than either Hazel or Astrid.

"Will you two be keeping an eye on the prisoners, or should I send some other players to act as guards?"

"We'll watch over them," Astrid said immediately, not even giving Hazel a chance to give her own response.

Anais nodded before leaving right after. "Good luck then." These were her last words as she left the building entirely without a second thought.

With the sorceress gone, Hazel and Astrid were now left to their own devices as they participated in keeping watch of the prisoners.
