"Could it be… the person you mentioned is…"
"Uh, sorry, I didn't get his name. We just happened to meet once and he recommended me to this traveler merchant."
Eman had no idea if there was another honorable knight like him in the empire, but to make sure that Rossbert would realize who he meant, he made sure to describe himself properly.
Hearing his description, "I see. That sounded like someone I know after all."
Hearing Rossbert's reply, Eman looked away. Now he was certain that Rossbert understood who he meant. Anyway, there was something he needed to figure out. He looked towards the mansion.
Rossbert fell silent. If only he and the others knew that the young noble had someone he knew who was selling medicine, they would have asked him already and they would have not come this far and experienced this predicament.
Their lives would not have been put in danger, especially Zennie's and the others'.
While Rossbert was thinking about this, he suddenly noticed the masked man walked towards the mansion.
"Where are you going?" He asked him, but he received no answer.
The masked man continued walking and stopped right below the window where they had jumped earlier.
—Swoosh!
He suddenly jumped back inside the mayor's office.
Eh?
Rossbert wonders what the masked man was planning to do there. However, he was also forced to follow. To be honest, he was mystified by this masked man. Suddenly, Rossbert remembered what the demonized man told him.
He heard them talk about the cult.
Cult, huh?
So there is such a group working behind the scenes. Could it be that those guys also have something to do with the current medicine crisis?
Rossbert wondered about it.
A while ago, he heard the masked man say that he was a cult slayer, so in conclusion, he was the cult's enemy and he hunted them.
Rossbert frowned when he remembered what the demonized had said earlier, especially about the 'Hero's Bloodline' and its attempt to recruit him.
The demonized man suddenly became interested in letting him join their group when he saw his hidden ability which he called 'awakening'.
As he was thinking, he noticed the masked man jump down again from the window of the mayor's office.
"!?"
Rossbert immediately stopped walking. The masked man landed right in front of him. However, he noticed something in the masked man's hands.
Eh?
In his hands, he carried two people. They were the two people, Des Troyer and the Scout, who had come here along with him to rescue Zennie and Mister Klaus.
Rossbert quickly guessed what the masked man was planning to do.
"Are they alive? Uh, never mind. They looked dead to me," said Rossbert to the masked man who was laying those two bodies side by side on the ground.
"Worry not as they are not completely dead yet."
He heard the masked man say that. 'Eh? How can he be so certain of that?' He could not completely believe him because looking at their state, they were undoubtedly in a horrible state. They were wounded all over and were bathed in their blood.
"Eh? But they're not breathing," Rossbert pointed out.
Eman couldn't argue with it. Looking at these two normally, there was no mistake that you could not see any sign of life in them.
But in Eman's vision, the little number on their health bar could not fool him. There was still a speck of life clinging from these two.
'I guess this is a good chance to test this medicine,' Eman thought. Of course, he wasn't doing it out of goodwill, but rather, it was to test his medicine's effectiveness.
Without responding to Rossbert, he produced another bottle out of thin air after a flick of his finger.
Rossbert saw a spatial ring in one of his fingers, so it wasn't surprising to see him producing items out of a sudden.
If anything was surprising to him, it was the bottle. It wasn't the same bottle of elixir a while ago that the masked man gave him.
Rossbert wondered what kind of medicine it was.
He saw the masked man did not hesitate to uncap the bottle. Rossbert discovered that what was inside was not liquid, but rather, it was like jelly.
An ointment!
After rubbing the wounds of those two, the wounds immediately healed. The speed that the medicine took effect was surprisingly fast. However, as expected, although the wounds disappeared, there were still no signs of life coming back from those two seemingly corpses.
"I-I think… there's no way to revive them," said Rossbert.
"Let's see."
After saying that, the masked man stored away the ointment and produced another bottle. This time it was a bottle of elixir with bright emerald liquid inside.
Again, it was a different elixir from the elixir the masked man gave him.
He saw the masked man clench the cheeks of Des to forcibly open his mouth. When his mouth was wide open enough, the masked man dropped some amount of emerald liquid into the mouth.
Rossbert didn't know if it was enough to make the seemingly lifeless body of Des swallow all that liquid, but seconds later, he saw Mister Des' eyelids twitching.
What?!
Rossbert exclaimed in his mind. After another few seconds, Des opened his eyes and glanced around.
"What? He… he came back to life?!" Rossbert finally could not hide his bewilderment.
He really did it!
"I told you, they are not completely dead yet."
Des, who had just woken up from a seemingly deep sleep, looked puzzled as he noticed two people staring at him. One of them is someone familiar to him and the other one was… a masked man? Wait, who is he?
An enemy?
But looking at it, it seems not to be the case. Also, Rossbert was with him and the two of them looked like they were not enemies to each other.
Regardless,
"I am alive?" He asked in surprise. "I remembered I was in so much pain then everyone stabbed me everywhere."
