The Paranoid Elf Queen Turned Me Into Her Sister

Ch. 90

90 – As If She Knows Everything

The red bar likely represented health and vitality, while the blue bar was clearly a visual indicator of remaining Divine Authority power. As for the yellow bar—its purpose remained uncertain, but it was definitely not something as simple as stamina.

Teresa compared it to her internal inspection. Internal inspection didn’t reflect health or vitality; it only showed her structural framework and used the concentration of faint blue matter as a reference for remaining Divine Power. In contrast, Divine Appraisal was far more intuitive and comprehensive.

Wenfu’s power reserves were running low—this battle needed to end quickly.

Now, what about the other two?

Teresa scanned the enemy mage. Unlike Wenfu, the mage lacked a blue bar—he only had red and yellow. His red bar (health) remained intact, but the yellow was nearly depleted.

Ah—so that’s it.

Teresa understood now. The yellow bar indicated mental energy. Mages spent mental energy to activate scrolls, unlike Divine Princesses who used Divine Power. Mental energy could only be restored by rest or sleep.

Just as she turned her gaze to Blake, a wave of dizziness struck her.

She squinted and immediately shut down Divine Appraisal.

Her mental energy was nearly gone.

Even after a night’s sleep to recover, prolonged usage—especially to scan enemy details—drained mental energy rapidly. If she kept Divine Appraisal active, she might not even be able to strategize, let alone fight.

Her mental threshold was too low. She couldn’t sustain the Legendary-tier Appraisal, which explained why she always scanned an enemy once at the start of battle and shut it off immediately.

Still, what she learned this time had been worth it.

The mage was nearly tapped out—he’d probably be unable to cast more than a spell or two.

Despite his composed face, there was a clear pallor to him.

Mental fatigue was brutal, and he was holding on by a thread. But he didn’t know Teresa had already seen through him.

No magic left?

From behind, golden wings of light unfurled on Teresa’s back. She nocked a shimmering light arrow but didn’t release it immediately. Under the radiant focus of her golden wings, the arrow swelled with energy, its glow intensifying—first golden, then a dazzling triple-color flare.

Her intent was obvious: this attack was aimed at the mage.

The mage blinked in surprise.

She was charging up her Divine Authority attack… in plain view of two enemies?

Charging up in front of a mage or a Ranger or a Heavy Cannon Divine Princess was insanely risky. It could be interrupted mid-cast, wasting Divine Power or even causing backlash.

Didn’t she think this through? Did she not realize he could just interrupt her?

Was she reckless… or just stupid?

The mage felt a sudden urge to lecture her about proper combat protocols.

With a mage right there, how did she dare?

Then it hit him—he actually couldn’t do anything.

His mental energy was gone. He literally couldn’t cast anymore.

…Wait.

Did she know that?

Did she know his magic reserves were dry, and that’s why she dared to charge up so openly?

He instantly rejected that possibility.

There were no Divine Children present. Teresa had no way to know his condition. And even if she had Divine Appraisal—what level of Appraisal would it take to read someone’s mental energy bar?

He’d never even heard of something like that.

“Miss Hilès, no need to buff me this time.”

“Eh?”

“Your Divine Power must be running low, right?”

Wenfu’s heart skipped a beat. How did Teresa know her power had dropped below half? She hesitated but obediently stopped her prayer posture.

Meanwhile, the mage had calmed himself.

Let her charge. He could dodge it anyway—he’d specially trained for agility.

But just as Teresa loosed the arrow…She turned and fired at Blake instead.

A triple-colored arrow sliced through the air, veering away from the mage.

“…Huh?!”

The mage stared wide-eyed.

He’d spent all that time bracing to dodge—for nothing. He couldn’t follow Teresa’s logic at all anymore.

Wasn’t he the logical target? No domain protection, and standing still…Why fake-out him and shoot Blake instead?

…But you know what?

She was right again.

Blake couldn’t dodge the arrow—he was too slow. He’d have to take it head-on.

Realizing this, Blake focused his strength and launched a Blade-shaped Wind Slash to intercept the incoming arrow.

BOOM!

This time, however, he had no time to coordinate a combo defense. Without his teammate’s aid, a fully charged triple-elemental light arrow blew him away.

As soon as he was down, Teresa slung her bow onto her back and calmly said:

“Miss Hilès, speed buff, please.”

“Right away!”

Wenfu wasn’t sure why Teresa—a bow-wielding Ranger—would ask for speed instead of power, but she didn’t question it.

…Wait.

How did she know I could even buff speed…?

Had she assumed it based on common knowledge of supporting Divine Princesses?

That must be it…

Still lost in thought, Wenfu activated her Divine Authority. A pink aura flared around Teresa as her speed was enhanced.

The mage—seeing his tanky teammate blasted away—was completely thrown off. He barely had time to register the golden flash barreling toward him.

He instinctively grabbed a dagger from his belt, but Teresa was already crouching, fingertips grazing the dirt. Her sea-glass eyes gleamed with serenity.

[Sacred Oblivion – Forge Blade]

Two curved stone blades—conjured from the earth—were drawn from the ground by Teresa’s hand.

“…She can fight in close quarters too?!”

The mage froze.

Wasn’t her Divine Authority supposed to be about light arrows?

Why the hell could she summon melee weapons too?

Just what kind of Domain did she have? What was her real Divine Authority?

No one answered. Teresa was already on him.

He’d anticipated long-range sniping, even if unprotected—but close-quarters combat? That had never crossed his mind.

She’d outplayed him again.

He may not have feared her arrows, but a speed-boosted, melee-charging Teresa was another matter. He couldn’t dodge. He couldn’t block.

It was like she knew everything.
