GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2482: Dream Anchor.

The sleeping legendary telepaths were still in the Mindscape. But the Sleep divine ability had shifted the battlefield between them and the legend to somewhere favorable to the incarnation of the god of dreams.

The telepaths began to sleep and dream. Once they began to dream, their minds were infected through their dreams.

All of them were still lucid in their dreams and were able to resist the invasion. But their resistance was futile because they lacked the tools to resist.

The force that invaded their mind was formless like the Mind Plague. So if they had the Mind Plague divine ability, they would have been able to put up significant and meaningful resistance.

With the Mind Plague divine ability, they would have even been able to fight back. But without the Mind Plague's divine ability, they were like sheep to the slaughter.

Once all of their minds were infected, their minds were sacrificed to create a channel for the power of the god of dreams to enter the Mindscape.

This power is different from the one in the legend. The legend is a vessel for the god of dreams that was created to become a godclad of the pathway of telepathy for one thing and one thing alone.

Now that that thing has been taken away and the vessel created for it isn't strong enough to retrieve it, someone else must be used to assist the vessel.

What was going on was that the dreams of the telepath were being used to project part of the power of the god of dreams to assist the legend. This power was then channeled into the legend to raise his spiritual power.

So the legendary telepaths must remain asleep, and the more people are sacrificed to channel the power of the god of dreams, the more powerful the legend will become.

Right now, the power the legend gained through the legendary telepaths was able to raise his spiritual power to 2,560 units.

This power is enough to contend with a new angel. But it is not enough to contend with a complete angel or an angel that has boosted themselves to the limit of the sequence.

This meant that the legend still needed more people to help him. So after the legend was done with these legendary telepaths, he left them here in the Mindscape and left.

He left to find more powerful people to help. But he just didn't choose anyone randomly. He only chose godclads in pathways without a god. This was to avoid other gods noticing what the god of dreams is doing.

There was also the requirement to meet the dreams of the target in the dream realm first before their dream can be used to channel the power of the god of dreams. All of these requirements slowed down the legend and prevented him from growing faster quickly.

While this was happening, the first angel of telepathy was running for his life. But even though he was running, he was already fighting for his life.

He hasn't slept for centuries, but his eyelids were feeling heavy, and he felt like closing his eyes and sleeping. The temptation to sleep was too much for him.

The worst part about this temptation was that there was a voice in his ears constantly urging him to sleep. The voice had a compelling force to it, which increased the pressure on him to sleep.

The voice said, "You're a failure. You've had the opportunity to take the Mind Palace for many years, but you failed and let a young upstart take what you've been working so hard for."

"You should just give up. You have tried your best, and it wasn't enough. So you should take the rest that you deserve. Let me take over. Just sleep."

The first angel knew that the voice speaking to him might come from a god, but he still roared, "Never. I will never sleep."

The voice chuckled without getting angry. Then it asked him, "How do you know that you are not sleeping right now?"

This question caused the first angel to stop and look around. As he looked around, the whole world fell apart, and he found himself in a foggy world.

This fog was similar to the one in the Mindscape. The difference was that the world wasn't white and grey. There were actually occasional flashes of colors.

This world also wasn't completely silent like the Mindscape. Images and sounds of events flashed through the fog of this world. These events were things that he had experienced in his life.

The blessing of the god of seers was still active, so he could tell that this world isn't the Mindscape of the physical dimension. Most importantly, he felt very familiar with this world. The familiarity was enough for him to deduce that this world was his dream.

It was then that the first angel realized that he had fallen asleep at some point. He just didn't notice when it happened because his mind and consciousness were still awake.

The whole thing sounded contradictory. But it involved the power of a god, so it wasn't surprising.

As he looked around, he saw two eyes looking down at him from above. The eyes were deep and dark. They pulled on his consciousness and will like two black holes.

In those eyes, he could sense belittlement. He could tell that to those eyes, he was more like a child than an adult.

This situation made him lament again, "I really should have gotten the blessing of the god of wisdom. If I had that blessing, this might not have happened."

The voice said, "You can't escape me. Just like a god of the mind would be capable of, I can attack anyone from anywhere in the world. There is especially no way for you to escape after I've seen your dream."

"Don't be afraid, though. Killing you is very easy, but I won't kill you because I have a use for you. So you will live."
