Reborn as the Vampire Prince at Server Start, I am Invincible

Ch. 49

Outrageous Battle

The light at the cave entrance grew closer and closer, while the spider monster behind them pursued relentlessly, unwilling to let its prey escape at the last moment.

With only five meters to go before reaching the exit, the Witch of the Swamp had already completed her final transformation.

Chen Zixuan went all in, leaping out of the cave and rolling several times down the gentle slope, becoming a bit dizzy from the spinning.

Immediately after, a massive black shadow burst out from the cave and crashed onto the ground with a heavy thud.

Using the blinding light of noon, the silver-haired girl slowly stood up and observed the monster before her.

The Witch of the Swamp's transformed appearance was a hybrid of human and insect.

Her upper body resembled that of an elderly woman, her iron-gray face covered in tumors, and her jaw split down the middle, revealing a gaping, bloody maw—making her look incredibly hideous.

But from the waist down, she was a giant spider with a diameter of about three meters.

Her eight legs were as sharp as spears, deeply rooted in the muddy ground, with six blood-red compound eyes on her abdomen, glaring fixedly at the silver-haired girl not far away.

This appearance was truly grotesque—just a single glance would give anyone nightmares.

On top of that, with her level reaching as high as 20, any player here would likely have fled in panic by now.

However, the silver-haired girl showed no sign of fear. Instead, she lifted the corners of her mouth into a cruel smile.

Without the cave's spider webs, we're fighting on equal ground now. Why should I be afraid of you?

The Witch of the Swamp had 4,800 HP, the highest Chen Zixuan had encountered so far.

That was three times higher than the Darkwing Bat from before.

With her 120 points of physical defense—even higher than Chen Zixuan's current 117 attack stat—it would be hard for him to break through her defenses if his [Bloodmoon Slaughterer's Dagger] didn't have the 18 points of armor penetration.

Fortunately, this epic dagger also had the [Ruthless Torment] effect to continuously apply the armor shred.

Without any hesitation, Chen Zixuan immediately activated the lv.2 [Bloodburst] skill.

In an instant, the blood within surged as if boiling!

The silver-haired girl grunted, and her clear blue pupils instantly turned a deep, rich crimson.

The lv.2 [Bloodburst] could raise her attack speed and movement speed by 35% for 20 seconds. Combined with the weapon's [Torment] and [Silverflash Pierce]'s true-damage execute...

Any creature with a health bar—I'll kill for you to see!

As strength flooded her body, an overwhelming killing intent surged in Chen Zixuan's heart. She raised her dagger, leapt into the air, and charged at the grotesque monster.

The Witch of the Swamp lifted her head, her jaw splitting open like a blooming flower, emitting an ear-piercing screech.

Meanwhile, not far away in the Mired Swamp.

A three-person team—two men and one woman—was cautiously exploring the area.

"Brother Yu, is there really a world-class boss here?" the Sharpshooter player holding a beginner's bow asked nervously.

The man known as Brother Yu wore a set of novice Mage's gear. He didn't seem confident either, and after a moment's hesitation replied, "I'm not sure, but very few players come here. We might just find a world-class boss."

"Let's go back... The monsters here are so scary..." whimpered the team's only female player, clutching her staff tightly, her eyes brimming with tears.

A few hours ago, she'd been fighting slimes just outside the main city, only for her two friends to trick her into coming to hunt world-class bosses, promising a fortune if they succeeded.

Supposedly, the fewer players there were, the greater the chance to find a world-class boss.

So, under their guidance, they'd ventured into the largely unexplored Mired Swamp.

Yet, the instant they set foot here, the girl was filled with deep regret.

She'd probably never forget what she felt upon first seeing a Water Ghoul.

It was like a jolt of electricity shooting up her spine, every hair standing on end, her legs turning to jelly, and her eyes rolling upward uncontrollably.

...

Even now, the thin fabric beneath the deepest layer of her skirt was still damp.

"Cough, cough..."

Brother Yu seemed to recall that experience and gave an awkward cough before feigning composure, "Let's just go a little further. We've come all this way—it'd be a shame to turn back now."

In fact, all three of them had barely reached level 2.

Just ten minutes ago, immediately after entering the Mired Swamp, they were besieged by a horde of Water Ghouls.

Had they not run fast enough, their group would have been wiped out on the spot.

They barely managed to drag their terrified female teammate to safety, only to realize, to their dismay, that they'd gotten lost and had wandered even deeper into the wilds.

Now, there was no way out.

"That was seriously scary just now," said the Sharpshooter player, patting his chest, his face full of lingering fear. To die at the hands of a Water Ghoul would have been just too disgusting.

Brother Yu glanced around. The three of them were now at the center of the marsh; it seemed if they just went a bit further, they might reach the exit on the other side.

Thinking of this, hope finally bloomed in his heart. At least there was a chance to escape this hellhole.

So he stated calmly, "Let's keep moving. We should be out of the wilds soon."

The trio pressed onwards, stopping and starting, looking around nervously, terrified of another horde of Water Ghouls.

As they walked on, brother Yu's expression suddenly changed. He thought he saw a figure darting through the distant trees.

"Wait! I think there's a player over there!" he called out excitedly.

Hearing him, the other two perked up as well. If they saw other players, that meant the exit wasn't far.

A beautiful world seemed right before their eyes.

But as they got closer and saw what was really happening, all three froze in shock.

It was a petite female player with long silver hair, wearing what looked like an extremely expensive outfit, wielding a jet-black dagger, darting and leaping through the woods, dodging attacks, face full of killing intent as she relentlessly hacked at a giant spider monster.

The black dagger struck like an afterimage, each blow causing strings of high damage numbers to float up.

-189!

-107!

-7...

Wait? What did I just see?

Brother Yu thought he was seeing things and rubbed his eyes hastily.

But opening them again, that absurd scene was still playing out.

A red-named girl player was chasing after an elite monster they had never seen before, slashing at it repeatedly.

The others were equally stunned, faces full of disbelief. But when the monster's stats appeared before their eyes, their shock reached new heights!

Witch of the Swamp (Transformed Form), level 20 elite monster!

It was only the second day since the server opened!

While the rest of the players were struggling to reach level 2 or 3, someone had already been able to hunt down level 20 monsters?!

At that moment, a name flashed through all three of their minds at the same time.

In this game, there could be only one player capable of such a feat, right?

They looked carefully at the girl's red name above her head—sure enough...

"Holy crap! Cecilia!"
