[A/N]: More abilities!

The transformation of [Mine Is The Sea Of Knowledge] into [Mine Is The Three Seas Of Knowledge] caused significant changes within Jon's mental landscape that he had not quite entirely comprehended. There were many changes to his Sea Of Knowledge that were not mentioned within his Knight Ranked effect description, leaving both Rana and Eis to fill the gaps as best as they could.

The first and perhaps most notable effect, was that the size of his Sea Of Knowledge had expanded immensely.

Eis had often explored his Fragment Of Mind, experiencing hundreds of different memories while the two of them were both Mortals. The ice devil spirit could do this from the comfort of a glacier floating across the water's surface, saving off pieces of core experiences and reliving them for herself.

With the introduction of "layers" within his Sea Of Knowledge, Schwarz Eis was no longer able to view certain memories while his mental shields were active. Guf alone was enough to prevent unwanted intrusion into his mental landscape, protecting his knowledge, memories and feelings with a surprising amount of strength and resilience.

Another thing that Jon had noticed was his ability to "move" information from one layer of his imaginary construct to another. Memories relating to his personal life back on Earth had been placed at the lowest point of his Sea Of Knowledge, beneath what Rana had called the "Sea Of Hadal."

Other than that, he noticed that the mastery he once possessed over the Sea Of Knowledge had wane mere seconds after integrating the Fragment Of Trinity. He was no longer able to amplify specific effects of [Mine Is The Three Seas Of Knowledge]. Which, considering its new effects, was quite the downside all things considered.

"There should be other additional effects which are not stated within the effect description," Said Eis, returning to her [Ice Spirit] form, "Fragments Of Duality, Fragments Of Parallel and even Fragments Of Division are amongst the most common fragments integrated into Fragments Of Mind."

"Considering that your mind is now layered into three distinct sections, it would not be surprising for you to be able to split your attention between multiple tasks all at the same time. Like being able to read two books at the same time or even filter through ambient conversations, processing numerous streams of information all at once."

If he was able to regain said control over his Sea Of Knowledge, he might even be able to strengthen the effects of a single layer. Guf was perhaps the most powerful once amongst the three, considering that [Helel] also possessed the Self Trait.

All in all, Jon was beyond pleased with his Knight Ranked transformation of his Sea Of Knowledge.

It increased his mental defences and boosted the effectiveness of specified ability traits.

Although he lacked abilities with the Emotion Trait, there was still thirty-three other abilities that he had yet to ascend from Mortality to Knighthood. Not to mention a Memento Source Item that he still had to elevate as well.

Before doing all of that, Jon watched as Schwarz Eis improved her own Memento Source Item using a Fragment Of Chainmail.

[Licht Weiss; Right-Hand Of Winter]: Manifested through the combination of an Ice Mana Core, Fragment Of Armour, Memento Source Fragment, complete Mortal Title [White Lady Of The Winter Castle] and a Mortal Ranked spiritual pauldron. (Chainmail)

Grants oneself a self-regenerating spiritual shield of ice natured spiritual energy. Upon shattering, inflict instances of both [Frozen Blood] and [Frozen Spirit] upon the one who last struck the spiritual shield.

Increases resistances towards fire natured damages, afflictions and debuffs. Increases resistances towards blood natured damages, afflictions and debuffs. Increases resistances towards life natured damages, afflictions and debuffs.

Can perform minor amounts of ice manipulation.

Effect (Knight): Elevates Licht Weiss; Right-Hand Of Winter into Licht Weiss; Obsidian Armour Of Winter. The Memento Source Item gains an additional layer of self-regenerating spiritual shield. Additionally, upon shattering, inflict instances of both [White Blood] and [White Spirit] upon the one who last struck the shield.

The transformation of Eis' own Memento Source Item was something that she had expected as well. Jon had also been prepared for Lethe's name to change upon integrating another fragment into it but decided on waiting until more of his other abilities upgraded before improving his Mask Of Jade Lies.

'Speaking of upgrading abilities…' Jon could not supress the urge to grin manifesting several fragments once stored within his Red Archives. It would be a waste not to elevate more of his abilities to Knighthood, considering he still possessed a few hundred fragments just sitting there within his sub-dimensional storage space.

On top of that, he still desired for Aerilayna to take him to the Safe Zone she resided in.

It would be remiss of him to go exploring into a potentially hostile territory without the abilities to back himself up. Possessing three more Knight Ranked abilities and then summoning Song Lian Yu should be more than enough for a little foray into a Safe Zone filled with lutins that want to kill him, right?

Despite part of him wanting to improve his Mutation Trait abilities first, Jon decided on improving abilities with clear and defined weaknesses more than anything else first up. The transformation of fragments into fragment pathways could always come later.

Jon selected [False Spear Art; Concealed Spear Detonation] for his Fragment Of Preparation.

Selected [Behold Thy Heretical Armour, Adorned In Chalk Light] for his Fragment Of Helm.

And [Lamentations Of A Frozen Affection] for his Fragment Of Perpetuity.

His vision once again swarmed with numerous instances of System notifications.

[Ravaging Trap]: Inflicts a continuous spear-natured damage over time effect. Remnants of spear natured spiritual energy will linger within the wound, attacking other sources of spiritual energy.

[Fragment Of Armour] [Behold Thy Heretical Armour, Adorned In Chalk Light] (War, Armour, Summon, Ability, Defensive, Shield, Buff) (Helm)

Effect (Knight): Elevates Glaucus; Heretical Chalk Pauldrons into Glaucus; Heretical Chalk Protection. Glaucus additionally manifests a pale, chalk-coloured helm capable of resisting physical strikes and blows. While wearing Glaucus, increase resistances towards eye-related and perception-related damages, afflictions and debuffs.

Upon shattering Glaucus will also grant oneself an instance of [Blasphemous Chalk Battlefield].

[Blasphemous Chalk Battlefield]: Each successful strike against enemies will reduce the mana expenditure of your next Spell.

[Fragment Of Heart] [Lamentations Of A Frozen Affection] (Ice, Heart, Mutation, Ability, Passive) (Perpetuity)

Effect (Knight): Elevates the Seir-Glacial Heart into a Seir-Perpetual Heart. The Seir-Perpetual Heart now contains within it the conceptual understandings of perpetuity, permanence, and stillness.

The Seir-Perpetual Heart will regenerate a defined amount of ice natured spiritual energy with each beat. Excess mana regeneration will be stored within the Seir-Perpetual Heart capable of strengthening the effectiveness of abilities with the Ice Trait.

Moderately increases resistances towards time-related damages, afflictions and debuffs. Further increases longevity.

Jon smiled, feeling the concepts contained within his abilities settle, layered on top of one another.

He was always going to integrate another armour-type fragment into Glaucus, expanding its defensive characteristics. A Fragment Of Chainmail or a Fragment Of Greaves were also viable alternative options but ended up settling on a Fragment Of Helm more so than anything else.

It protected his most exposed vital point.

Even without having to chant the Spell effect contained within it.

[Lamentations Of A Frozen Affection] on the other hand, was done so carefully and with a great deal of forethought beforehand. The Fragment Of Perpetuity was chosen over other high-concept fragments such as a Fragment Of Eternity, Fragment Of World, Fragment Of Beginnings or even a Fragment Of Impermanence.

Debilitating effects that restricted mana regeneration would not limit his Seir-Perpetual Heart. It would continue to birth more and more spiritual energy, regardless of how wounded Jon was or what Rank of affliction wrought havoc through his mind or spirit.

Although he was feeling particularly pleased with the new effects produced by Glaucus and his now Seir-Perpetual Heart, [False Spear Art; Multiple Spear Detonation] had without a shadow of doubt improved the most of the three abilities.

Lifting one of his hands, Jon recited the chant for his multiple spear detonation.

"Vanishing steel. Obscuring iron. Honour and glory besmirch the name of victory. Concealing thrust. Unfettered conflict. Thou shall not deny thy triumph this day".

However, instead of placing his hand down on a surface to set the charge Jon allowed it to sit within the palm of his hand, forming a near-unnoticeable spear-shaped glyph. His intuition informing him that he could hold an additional six charges of the Spell.

The shit-eating grin on his face could not be understated, and the effects of his once troublesome ability had been completely resolved within a matter of moments. Although Jon wanted to elevate more of his abilities to Knighthood, there was a far more pressing matter that he had to attend to.

Summoning the Threaded-Princeps Of Terminus Est.

Break.

Jon was forced to use one of his remaining task rewards in order to obtain another Fragment Of Dragon. After obtaining a Fragment Of Devil and Fragment Of Bodhisattva for Eis and Rana respectively, this was the third task reward that Jon had used since becoming a Knight.

Considering how many task rewards he had remaining Jon knew that he needed to further explore the small realm in hopes of finding more Dungeons and Wonders for him to plunder. Even if the loot that he collected was even half of what he obtained from the Sunlit-Inferno Lagoon, it would still be close a hundred fragments and over a dozen Mana Cores.

Factoring in the additional rewards he would receive from his mandatory tasks, would leave him with a tremendous amount of wealth.

'Enough of that. Now is the time to focus,' Jon berated himself, knowing that both Rana and Eis were just beyond the tree line.

Several hundred metres away from his lakeside camp, Jon begun the chant to summon Song Lian Yu; Threaded-Princeps Of Terminus Est.

"From The Inverse World to the Dark Heavens, I beseech your name and title. I call upon the Threaded-Princeps Of Terminus Est, the one who presides over the Garden Of False Endings, the seventh-born son of the Angel Of Endings."

"Clad in the platinum scales of dreamless beginnings, observing the soft light at the end of creation. I call upon the Threaded-Princeps Of Terminus Est, the one whose claws would clutch at the strings of three million trichiliocosms!"

"Wings expanding with the secrets of light and dreams, eyes gleaming with the knowledge of life and death, spirit burning with the unrelenting desire for the end of all things! I call upon the Threaded-Princeps Of Terminus Est, the one who vowed to usurp the Angel Of Endings!"

"I call you Song Lian Yu! I call you to this mortal world, so that you may serve at thine behest, and begin anew amongst mortals once more!"

Jon felt a shadow obscure the light that passed through his eyelids, prompting him to open then an observe the enormous figure standing before him. His heart pounding and his mind racing in childlike glee as he stood beneath the mythological creature in front of him.

It was simultaneously everything that Jon could have imagined and then somehow more.

Scales that gleamed silver-platinum, stretching across a form that was easily over a dozen-metres in length. Muscles and tendons that coiled with an unfathomable strength and fortitude, supporting a long neck adorned in miniscule thorn-shaped protrusions.

Whiskers seemed to grow around the space beneath its chin, giving Song Lian Yu the impression of an aged-appearance. His horns seemed swept backwards, growing alongside an incredible set of white-silver frills.

Its five-clawed talons pierced through the ground as if it were made of paper, releasing a hot, pleasant-smelling breath of air towards the one who had summoned him.

"I accept your call, Jonathan Randall Guilliman," it said.

Jon could see one-silver, one-gold coloured eye observe him.

The Threaded-Princeps Of Terminus Est lowered its head towards him, briefly glancing towards the tree line, noticing the presence of Ashvattha Rana Devi and Schwarz Eis Seir. The epoch dragon seemed unmoved by their presence, enveloping Jon in a gentle haze of weave natured spiritual energy.

"Through the autumn wilt and the winter death, nothing shall break this oath. Through the spring haze and summers daze, I vow this to the end of thine days."

"Once what was two, shall now become one."

Lifting his head, Song Lian Yu glanced down at Jon, its expression blank but its tone tinged in curiosity. Sniffing the air around the little human, the epoch dragon raised what Jon thought was an eyebrow, stretching his enormous white-silver wings and engulfing the Princeps Of The Wandering Mutation beneath his shadow.

"My master has attained Knighthood? You waited this long to summon me, Jonathan Randall Guilliman?" Song Lian Yu asked, its voice deep and bellowing, but somehow neither masculine nor feminine. It was then that he noticed how long the tail of the epoch dragon was, managing to stretch all the way behind him, sections of it still connected to his wings through scaled-fins that grew along the length of its appendage.

Shaking his head in response Jon replied with the truth.

"You were the final fragment I integrated as a Mortal, which then prompted my ascension to Knighthood. Before summoning you Song Lian Yu, I allowed my two other summoned companions to ascend to Knighthood as well. It has been… not even a full day since then." Jon said, clearly and concisely.

The Threaded-Princeps Of Terminus Est nodded in response, lifting its head up and stroking some of the scaled-whiskers that grew from its chin. Song Lian Yu released another loud breath of hot air, feeling that his once fabled draconic breath had been taken away from him.

"I suppose that much is fortunate at least… Tell me, what universe are we in? How many years has it been since the last universe integration?" Song Lian Yu responded with another question, prompting Jon to pause before lifting a hand to scratch the back of his head.

His expression turned wry, causing the epoch dragon to furrow his brows in attentiveness.

"Well… about that, we are currently within the 37th universe."

"During the System Introduction of said universe, actual-."

"WHAT!"

The sound of Song Lian Yu's voice echoed throughout the forest, causing Wilheim and his other friends to lift their heads in curiosity hearing an unfamiliar voice shout out in English of all things.
