For a while, Ethan stayed by Lia's side, helping care for the child until she woke. When Lia finally opened her eyes, she looked around weakly. Then her gaze fell on the baby in her arms. A tear slipped down her cheek as she smiled.
"My Lord… he's so beautiful," she said softly, her voice full of love. "He looks like a gem."
Ethan chuckled quietly and rubbed his nose. "Of course he does. He's my son after all."
They spent some time together before Ethan finally stepped out of the room. As the door closed behind him with a soft sound, he stood still for a moment.
He looked down at his hands, still trembling slightly from holding the child. "This boy," he whispered to himself, "he's strong. I can feel it."
He then secluded himself and then took a deep breath and called out to the system in his mind. "System, don't disappoint me now."
A series of messages appeared before his eyes.
[Detected: Birth of Host's child]
[The child has been born with D-rank warrior potential]
[Reward: Gift x1]
[Host has given birth to the fifth child. Special reward unlocked.]
[Reward: Treasure Chest x1]
Ethan blinked, reading the messages again to make sure. He rubbed his eyes and even pinched his arm. It was real.
For a moment, silence filled the room
Then he laughed, his voice breaking the still air. His laughter echoed through the hall as he leaned against the wall, eyes bright with joy and disbelief.
"FUCKKKKKK!"
He whispered to himself, smiling deeply. "Finally… it's real. I did it."
Just as Ethan thought everything was over, another message appeared before his eyes, shocking him completely.
[Host has met the requirements to unlock the 2nd stage of SSS Rank Ability: Bloodline Convergence.]
His body froze for a moment, and then he felt a sudden surge of power rising from deep within his veins.
His blood began to boil, not in pain but with an overwhelming energy that spread through his whole body. His heart pounded hard against his chest as if it was trying to break free. The warmth that rushed through him felt like liquid fire, burning away every bit of weakness and fatigue.
He gasped lightly and leaned against the wall, his breath quick and heavy. His senses sharpened, and for a brief moment, the world around him seemed to slow down. He could hear faint heartbeats and even the soft wind brushing against the window curtains.
Then something strange happened.
He felt a faint thread of connection deep inside his mind, as if invisible lines were linking him to someone. He closed his eyes and focused.
One by one, the presence of his children flickered in his mind. He could feel each of their heartbeats, each of their breath—like small glowing lights spread across the mansion.
Ethan took a moment to savour the feeling. It was warm and comforting. Even though he didn't feel any physical change, the bond itself was powerful.
With a single thought, he could sense where his children were. He didn't know if this ability would work from long distances, but even this much was a huge gift.
After a deep breath, he whispered, "System, open the gift reward."
[DING!]
[C-rank Body Refinement Technique *1.]
A sudden wave of information flowed straight into Ethan's mind, like a flash of light. His eyes widened as the words formed clearly in his thoughts.
[Crimson Flame Tempering Art: A powerful body-refining method that uses flames to burn away impurities from the flesh. By enduring the pain of fire essence, the practitioner strengthens their body until it becomes as tough as C-rank metal.]
[E Rank Ballista Design*1]
Ethan's eyes lit up with excitement. His tired face suddenly looked alive again. "Good... good! That's a very good thing," he said, a small smile tugging at his lips.
He straightened up and said firmly, "System, open the treasure chest."
[DING!]
[Shard of the Luminous Heart *1]
[Insignia of Eternal Light *1]
[C-rank Bloodline Potential Potion *3]
[A-rank Everlasting Youth Refinement Technique *1]
For a moment, Ethan simply stared at the screen, unable to move. His eyes scanned each reward again and again as his body started trembling.
A flood of emotions filled with shock, joy, disbelief, and awe washed over him all at once.
His hands shook slightly, and he had to take a few deep breaths to calm himself. "Calm down, Ethan… calm down," he muttered, pressing his palm to his forehead.
Once he felt steady again, he started checking each reward carefully.
[Shard of the Luminous Heart: Unranked.]
[Effect: Using this fragment grants a permanent blessing from the Goddess of Light. The blessing increases healing power, allows refined control of light elements, and provides strong resistance against curses.]
[Restriction: The power of the blessing depends on the user's faith.]
Ethan swallowed hard as he read. "Now I understand why it's unranked," he whispered. "It's not a weapon or a skill. It's a divine blessing. It tests the faith of the user."
He frowned a little and sighed. "It's good, but… does it mean I have to accept the faith of the Goddess of Light? I just hope it works normally. I don't want to get tied to any church."
He then moved to the next item.
[Insignia of Eternal Light: Provides powerful protection against curses and can restore 80% of the user's health.]
[Restriction: The restore function can be used once after which it needs to be recharged.]
Ethan nodded slowly. "That's a strong life-saving item," he murmured, a hint of relief in his tone.
Then his eyes moved to the next line.
[C-rank Bloodline Potential Potion *3].
He didn't even need to read the details to understand what that meant. A smile crept across his face. "That will help my children… or maybe even my soldiers," he thought quietly.
Finally, his eyes landed on the last reward.
[A-rank Everlasting Youth Refinement Technique.]
A small window opened beside it, showing the description.
[Everlasting Youth Refinement Technique: A rare and ancient technique that allows the user to retain their youthful appearance regardless of age. Even when the user's life ends due to old age, the body remains young and untarnished, unaffected by decay or time.]
Ethan blinked and rubbed his chin. "This is… amazing," he whispered.
Then he frowned lightly and let out a sigh. "It's good, but it would be better if it was a combat technique. This one's more for beauty than battle."
He shook his head with a helpless smile. "It's great for charming women, I suppose. But with my looks, do I even need that?" he said softly, half amused, half serious.
"However this might make women all over the world to drool for it…Good…Good..My wives will absolutely love it."
He leaned back against the wall, the glow from the system screen reflecting in his tired eyes.
His heart still felt heavy from the earlier tension, but now it was mixed with quiet excitement.
The air around him was still and cool, and the faint sound of crickets echoed outside. He took a long breath and whispered, "Alright, system. Show me the panel."
