While Ethan spent his days managing things,he noticed another worrisome matter.
That was Lia's abnormal behaviour.
Her food intake had become humangous..The portion she was eating was enough for 20 guys.
On top of that the nutrition potion and other things were all getting devoured.
And even without any training and exercise,Ethan could feel the strength of Beginner Knight from her.
Like what the hell?
It's like eating 5-star, doing nothing and getting stronger.
Now what is this bullshit?
And as he examined he felt that these changes might be brought by the child and Lia's bloodline.
Beastfolk bloodlines groups weren't graded in tiers or ranks; rather the upper limit of their potential depended on the beast they inherit from.
And Ethan has no way of knowing it.
…..
Lia sat quietly on the garden bench with two small children beside her. The air was calm, and the soft sound of rustling leaves filled the garden.
The sunlight fell through the trees, making everything look peaceful. She smiled as she watched the children enjoy the bright flowers and the soft breeze.
Nera, the smaller one, turned toward her and tugged lightly on her tail. "Small Mother, your tail feels so soft. I want a tail too when I grow up," she said, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
Lia froze for a moment, unsure of how to answer. Should she lie? If she told them the truth, they might cry, but lying would feel wrong. She hesitated, not knowing what to say next.
Before she could speak, Herion, the older one, joined in. "Yes! I want one too. I want a big fluffy tail!" He reached out his hand and touched it.
"My tail will be bigger than yours!" Nera said proudly, puffing out her cheeks.
"No, mine will be bigger!" Herion replied and grabbed the tail again.
Soon the two of them began pulling at it, giggling and arguing.
Lia winced slightly, feeling the tug. "Nera, Herion, stop it. Calm down. It's not good to fight," she said softly, trying to pull her tail free.
But as she did, her expression suddenly changed. Pain crossed her face, and she clutched her stomach tightly.
Nera's smile vanished. "Small Mother, what happened?" she cried out.
Herion's face turned pale, and both of them screamed for help. "Help! Something's wrong with Small Mother!"
The servants nearby rushed over, hearing the children's voices. One of them bent down beside Lia, worry written all over her face.
"I… I think my water broke," Lia said weakly, her voice trembling.
The servants gasped. "Quickly, call Sir Oliver!" one shouted, and chaos filled the garden.
Moments later,Ethan came running from the corridor, his steps heavy and quick. He saw Oliver pacing outside the room. "What's happening?" he asked breathlessly.
Oliver looked at him with a serious face. "Lady Lia is inside. And Lady Sophia is inside and wanted to watch over the process," he explained.
Ethan nodded but felt his heart pounding hard.
Even though he had seen childbirth before, something about this time felt different. Lia's pregnancy had already lasted eleven months—longer than any normal human's. The child was half-beast and half-human. If anything went wrong, the result could be disastrous.
He clenched his fists, trying to calm himself. "Calm down Ethan," he muttered under his breath, walking back and forth near the door.
Then suddenly, a familiar voice echoed in his mind.
[Detected...]
The message made him freeze. His eyes widened, and before he could think, he rushed toward the chamber like an arrow. The sound of footsteps filled the hall as he pushed the door open.
Inside, the room smelled of herbs and medicine. The air was tense. The midwife and assistants were working quickly, their hands moving with care.
"Boy! It's a boy!" the midwife shouted as she lifted the newborn.
At that moment, Ethan burst into the room, startling everyone inside. Sophia, who was standing near the bed, turned around in shock.
"What are you doing? You scared me!" she said sharply.
Ethan didn't answer. His face was pale, and his voice came out low and heavy. "How is the mother?"
The room fell quiet.
The midwife, was a retired veteran from the Church of the Life, looked up at him. She was a skilled healer, and Ethan had paid a large amount of gold to hire her for this birth. She was clearly surprised by his question.
Usually, fathers asked about the child, not the mother. But Ethan's concern was different.
"My Lord," she said respectfully, "both the mother and the child are safe."
Sophia sighed in relief and lightly hit Ethan's shoulder. "You gave me such a fright," she said, trying to calm her voice.
Ethan exhaled slowly. "Sorry," he said softly and walked closer to the bed.
Lia lay there, her face pale but peaceful. Her long hair stuck to her forehead with sweat, and her wolf-like ears drooped weakly. Her tail lay still beside her. The sight made Ethan's chest ache.
The midwife smiled kindly. "Don't worry, my Lord. Beastwomen need more energy for childbirth. She's just tired. In fact, she is in very good condition compared to most."
Ethan nodded slightly, then turned toward the small figure lying nearby.
The newborn boy was wrapped in a soft white cloth. His tiny hands moved slightly, and his eyes blinked open.It was blue and bright. His hair was a light brown color that shimmered under the lamplight.
"He's so strong," Sophia whispered. "And he looks quite manly already."
Ethan stared at the baby in silence. The child was heavier than most newborns, his breathing steady and calm.
Everything about him felt different—alive and powerful.
Ethan reached out and gently lifted him. The baby blinked up at him with curious eyes. Ethan smiled faintly, feeling warmth in his chest.
"Your mother looks like a wolf," he said quietly, "but you… you look like a little lion. So, I'll name you Leo."
He smiled wider and whispered, "Welcome to this world, my son."
