The two farmers took these creatures to meet the man who led them. He was an old man in his sixties, but he looked much older than that.
He had white hair and a long beard the same color. The man could barely see because his eyes were getting worse.
Byung saw the bad shape a lot of these people were in. It made him feel sad for them even though there was nothing he could do for them.
It wasn't his job to fix everything. But if he could really become a King among goblins, there should be a way to use these humans to grow his power.
He needed to break down the wall that kept their worlds apart. But Byung didn't know about the bad things goblins in other areas were doing. That was why he still had this simple idea.
The orcs were best to handle them. But if they got past that wall, there was no telling what would happen to other races.
Because the goblins knew they couldn't get past the orcs. But would this stop them forever?
After all, Drekk was planning to break through their defense and get past it.
If it worked, there was no doubt other goblins from different areas would spill into the world where other races lived.
The orcs would have to move their forces to make the circle stronger in the Western Province.
"I have come back as I promised. I see things haven't gotten better," the orc spoke. He showed pity for the old man.
Byung was surprised by this kindness. This was true even though humans treated their kind badly. But not everyone would be the same.
This much was true. Byung watched as they talked like old friends with no sign of just trading things.
Byung smiled. It showed it was possible for them to connect even with different races.
"The villagers are starving. We don't have enough silver to buy stuff to make our farms grow," the man complained. Byung realized the poop this orc was carrying was for these farmers.
But if they couldn't pay for it, why did he keep giving it to them?
Byung wanted to watch them more. This would explain what this orc was really about.
He needed friends with real value. But he didn't rule out that these people paid by keeping quiet and giving shelter to him when he came.
"I am sorry I couldn't do more…" the orc said sorry. But the old man laughed it off.
"You have done more than enough, Gog," the man said with a big smile. It showed his mouth with no teeth.
"I think I may have something that could help…" Byung stepped in. This drew eyes to himself.
He began to dig through his pockets. He took out a pouch covered in poop. But it looked heavier than the one he took out on the first day.
Byung began to count under his breath. He needed to see if he could get some money back from them. He had an unlimited money trick.
There was no reason why he shouldn't use the chance to do it. Byung took out twenty-six gold coins. Maui was confused where he was getting this money from.
There was no reason for him to be this rich. It was foolish for him to show this money in public. He had no idea who these people were.
They could easily rob him or do something mean. Even a hurt dog bites.
"Put that away now!" Maui whispered. Luckily he was on her shoulder so she could see what was in the bag before they could.
"It is fine. No one will mess with a big scary orc. They think I'm your portable pouch," Byung whispered. He followed it by dropping it in her hand.
"I would like to help you people," Maui spoke for Byung. She took the role of the giver. Luckily, the system took this as him giving Maui money.
[Ding!]
[Spend 25 gold coins. 5x Critical Hit!]
[125 gold coins received!]
[Spent at least 25 gold coins on a creature from a different race!]
Byung noticed one of these coins had dropped right in front of the old man.
The old man picked the coin that had dropped. He waited for another message to pop up. But nothing came.
"Huh?" Byung was confused. This man should count as the one getting it. Maui didn't touch that one coin he had given the man.
"Thank you so much! I do not know how to repay you. But everything you want here is yours!" The old man bowed his head even though they could tell he was in clear pain doing that.
[Ding!]
"Phew, you had me worried for a second," Byung thought to himself.
[Rebate failed!]
[The recipient must share a trait with the host!]
"What the fuck?" Byung understood the reason behind this. But since this was a mixed system, did it mean he had to find a way to get the traits of the human race?
This would make sense. Both systems worked together.
The orc was seen as a different race by his system too. This meant it wasn't just for goblins.
It accepted other races. Byung realized for the first time how his mixed system worked.
The man was crying. He thanked Maui. She awkwardly rubbed his head with her huge palm.
She was scared that any force would kill the old man. But the merchant noticed these two were unlike anyone he had smuggled.
They usually tried to sleep with the helpless women here. They forced them with things as simple as a piece of bread. But these two had done something he had never seen before.
They gave the old man a lot of money. He could keep himself and the people here going even though it wouldn't be enough.
It would last them a couple of days for sure. But Byung wasn't done.
"We will make sure none of you go hungry again. You have my word. But there is something I need you all to do for me," Byung spoke up. The request hung in the air.
There was no way this man was going to say no to him.
