Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 1022: 1019: A Beating

Corey stood at exactly twenty five meters from Pope Arzhel, and such a distance was completely insignificant to beings at their level.

It was comparable to them standing mere centimetres before one another, and both Corey and Pope Arzhel stared into each other's eyes.

One had an incomparable solemn gaze.

While the other had a gaze that could freeze the depths of hell and could also watch the end of all life without feeling a single emotion.

This stared own occurred for exactly one minute, with both individuals running simulations in their minds, and then a change occured.

Pope Arzhel moved.

In the blink of an eye, he appeared before Corey with a fierce and cold gaze. His arms moved, and his axes became engulfed in flames as the Pope's intent in laying waste to Corey's entire body, soul, and being was not hidden in the slightest.

No longer did the Pope desire to have Corey's corpse in one piece.

No longer did he want to find a way to capture Corey instead of killing him.

No longer did he want to experiment on Corey to know more about his secrets and about Paragons.

He desired none of that, because his instincts were screaming at him that Corey was a threat to his life.

They were screaming at him to kill Corey without hesitation. To kill him as quickly as possible.

And Pope Arzhel could count on one hand the number of times his instincts had warned him this much, and none of those times was ever against a mortal like Corey.

As Pope Arzhel swung down his axes which were actually Immortal weapons, Corey's hand moved.

It was exceedingly fast, much faster than the Pope had ever expected and ever seen from Corey.

Before the Pope's arm swing could gain momentum, Corey calmly slapped his arm away, causing Pope Arzhel's axe to miss him by a wide margin.

Pope Arzhel's eyes flashed when he saw this, and although he did not expect this and was taken aback by what Corey did, he did not stop.

He merely changes his attacking style.

His other hand moved, swinging his second axe toward Corey's stomach, fully intending on cutting Corey in two.

However, Corey calmly took two quick steps to the back, completely dodging Pope Arzhel's axe and completely disrupting his rhythm.

Pope Arzhel nearly stumbled due to him not expecting Corey to dodge at such a precise time, but Corey did not give him the time to recollect himself.

He calmly took a step forward, and then he gave the Pope a right hook on the side of his head.

Pope Arzhel was stunned for a second, completely not expecting the power in Corey's punch to be so powerful.

His head recoiled backward, threatening to severe itself from his neck. Although Corey's punch was powerful, it was not enough to cause Pope Arzhel who was as powerful as an Immortal, to be stunned for a whole second.

For beings of their level, a whole second was like an entire minute to a Tier 0. It was a lot of time that could decide a lot of things in a battle between beings that were on par with Immortals.

Corey's Tribulation Lightning

Soul Entropy

Painful Echo

And the world tree's powers

These were the several reasons as to why Pope Arzhel was stunned for an entire second, and inside Pope Arzhel's mind were bolts of tribulation lightning that attempted to cause damage to the Pope, but not to kill him.

Corey did not want the Pope to die so easily.

No.

He needed to release his fury.

He needed the man who killed his parents and kidnapped his sister to suffer at his hands.

He needed to hear him scream.

And Corey's pure white eyes became frigidly cold as his hands became a blur.

In the second Pope Arzhel had been stunned, Corey had unleashed nearly a hundred punches on the Pope, and a second later, the devastating result of his punches could be seen.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Sounds that were akin to hundreds of bullets been fired thundered in the dimension, and Pope Arzhel who was the victim flew and tumbled for over ten thousand kilometers.

BANG!

His battered and broken body slammed into the ground, causing a large crater to be formed on the ground.

The armor Pope Arzhel was once proud of was no more as it crumbled into pieces.

The armor was not at the Immortal grade, but it was a Violet Grade Armor, and Corey had shattered it with his mere fists.

One might wonder how this was possible, but choosing not to hold back, meant all of Corey's energy was on this fight and he was not sparing anything at all.

His mana, stamina, mental energy, spiritual energy, soul energy, and also his Stars of Consciousness.

Using everything he had allowed him to be able to see the runes on and in every layer of the armor, and Simon could see their weak points with his Eyes of Omniscience and Eyes of Truth and Judgement combined together.

Using all of that, he knew where to punch and the right amount of force to damage the runes, which ultimately led to the destruction of the armor.

Corey calmly took a step forward, his eyes fully focused on Pope Arzhel who was far away.

When he took a step forward, he covered a thousand kilometers.

When he took another step forward, he covered another thousand kilometres.

And with ten steps in total, he appeared before Pope Arzhel who was struggling to get up.

"You damned monster."

Corey watched as Pope Arzhel slowly got to his feet with a battered, bloodied, and broken body.

Although Corey had beaten him previously, he had not hit any vital part of his body... yet.

"Damned Paragon monster. None of you are meant to be here... in this universe."

Pope Arzhel coughed out a mouthful of blood, and Corey indifferently raised a brow at the Pope's words.

He calmly approached the Pope.

"You wanted to know how I got this strong... You should know... that you are truly the reason I'm this strong."
