My Dragon King System

Chapter 165: GGG: Art & Lightning (Bonus)

"I'm going to have to win this one way or another," Kayden muttered, with his eyes fixed on Elian's blank expression.

He levitated further into the sky, while forming another orb of lightning. But instead of firing it directly, he let it drift upward until it hovered high above the battlefield.

"Rain of Lightning," he whispered, pointing toward Elian.

At once, countless bolts of lightning shot down from the hovering orb, one after the other in quick succession.

Elian deflected the first bolt by employing the same wind spell that was drawn into reality, as before.

And then with a single wave of his paintbrush wand, Elian made several iron rods manifest around him.

Each one appeared already half-buried in the ground, positioned with precise spacing.

Their purpose was to act as lightning rods, intercepting every bolt from Kayden's attack and channeling the energy harmlessly into the earth.

Then Elian waved his paintbrush wand once and a yellow colored lightning bolt shot out from it and towards the hovering orb. It collided with the technique and brought it to an end.

"You're persistent," Elian said flatly. "But this is getting tedious."

He leapt into the air, and the painting of wyvern came alive beneath him, already flying forward the moment it appeared. Elian landed smoothly on its back mid-flight as it shot forward toward Kayden without slowing.

Aiden watching from a distance had widened eyes seeing a beast that looked like a dragon manifesting into real life.

This also shocked the rest of the crowd watching. They were sent into gasps and some of them straight up look terrified seeing that magic could easily create such.

Kayden had the same reaction of shock as well, but he was the target here and a wyvern was flying towards him. He made a turn and flew further way.

The chase began. Elian stood calmly on the wyvern's back, with his arms folded, as it soared after Kayden through the sky. The audience below tilted their heads upward, following the high-speed pursuit with wide eyes.

As the Wyvern gave chase, different elemental attacks being drawn into reality were shot towards Kayden. Blasts of flames, lightning strikes, swirling tornados, bullets made out of rock.

Kayden continuously glided away and weaved past through each of them. This continued for a while until kayden clicked his tongue in irritation. He'd had enough.

Kayden made a sharp turn, no longer fleeing but flying straight toward the wyvern. At close range, his body vanished in a flash of light and reappeared instantly in front of Elian, with his foot slamming into Elian's chest and knocking him off the creature's back.

It was Kayden's Lightning Flicker; a high-speed movement technique so fast it looked like teleportation.

Elian hadn't seen it coming and couldn't defend in time. Yet, even as he tumbled through the air, he remained calm.

With a smooth twist mid-fall, he repositioned himself, just as the wyvern swooped beneath him, landing back on its back in perfect balance.

"Tsk" Kayden clicked his tongue again seeing as Elian survived that, with his wyvern flying back into position.

The wyvern didn't resume the chase. It hovered midair while Elian, standing atop it, studied Kayden closely.

Kayden didn't rush in either. He hovered some distance away, with eyes fixed on his opponent, thinking through how to end this fight.

Then Elian broke the brief silence between them.

With a wave of his wand, glowing symbols formed in the air, and suddenly the space around them filled with smaller white wyvern-like creatures. Each one crackling with yellow lightning energy

"What…?" Kayden muttered, his eyes widening as he realized he was completely surrounded.

In that instant, one of the creatures lunged forward at blinding speed, slamming its head into Kayden's stomach and hurling him downward.

Before he could recover, another wyvern darted after him and struck with a powerful dropkick mid-fall, driving him even faster toward the ground.

Kayden hit the earth with a thunderous impact, the force carving a deep crater into the arena's ground.

The crowd gasped in disbelief. Kayden's teammates looked completely stunned, and even Oberon rose from his seat abruptly, his face filled with shock and fear.

Elian had painted in reality, the imagination of little wyverns that moved with lightning-like speed. Each one fast enough to rival Kayden's movements.

When the dust from Kayden's fall began to settle, Thamoryn rushed to his side to check on him.

Kayden groaned in pain, blood trickling down from the side of his head.

The protection spell around him had absorbed most of the impact, but even that had its limits. Without it, a fall from that height would have been far worse.

"My prince…" Thamoryn began, but before he could respond, she looked up, ready to end the match.

"Stop!" Kayden shouted.

She turned back to him sharply. "Prince Kayden, you're injured, and the protection spell has worn off. I can't let this fight continue."

"I—I can still fight," Kayden said, forcing himself to sit up. "Do not end my battle when I haven't lost." His eyes burned with determination, and his expression looked furious.

By now, the larger wyvern carrying Elian had landed, while the smaller ones hovered nearby, lightning crackling across their bodies. Elian dropped from its back and watched silently, waiting for Thamoryn's judgment.

Thamoryn hesitated, watching Kayden as he rose to his feet, clutching his injured right arm with his left.

Then she exhaled heavily and took a step back, exchanging a glance with King Oberon and shaking her head, a silent message that Kayden refused to back down.

Oberon then leaned back slowly, with eyes still fixed on his son.

"Know when you're beaten, boy" Aiden whispered, shaking his head as if fearing the worst for Kayden.

"Kayden…" Innis whispered with this worried look on her face. The rest of the team, and the other members of Ravens' Grave shared the same concern, with their eyes filled with fear for him.

Elian sighed, realizing that the battle was still going to go on. He did nothing at first, instead just stared at Kayden. Watching for what he would do next.

Kayden was panting for a moment, trying to catch his breath. Then he stopped, exhaled slowly, and in that instant, his magic energy burst outward. BOOM!

His eyes glowed white, and his hair flared up as its color went from blue to white. The streaks of blue lightning that danced around his body had also taking a different coloration, turning into white.

The Small chunks of debris around him floated upward, suspended by the surge of energy.

At first, Oberon's surprise showed, but it quickly curved into a knowing smirk.

He didn't look worried anymore. Infact he leaned back with poise, resting his chin on his right knuckle, with elbow anchored on the throne's armrest.

"I'm impressed. Somehow you learnt that on your own" he whispered.

Aiden watching from the crowd was genuinely taken aback, then he laughed slightly.

"Hm.." Elian muttered.

Kayden took a single step forward, and in an instant, he became a streak of lightning. His body had transformed into a living bolt, blitzing through every small wyvern around him in a flash.

The little monsters disintegrated into black ink, which quickly dissipated into the air.

Elian turned from side to side trying to follow the streaks of lightning but it was darn too fast.

His massive wyvern roared as it witnessed the other creatures burst into ink and vanish.

But before it could even finish its roar, a streak of white lightning tore past, and the wyvern itself dissolved into nothingness.

Then Kayden instantly appeared before Elian, staring down at him condescendingly, from a few meters mid air.

This was Kayden's Lightning Godspeed spell. The same Technique that made Oberon one of the fastest moving humans in the entire world.
