Online Game: Starting With SSS-Ranked Summons

Chapter 546: Surprise attack [1]

After reinforcing itself, the flamingo was now ready to unleash its power at full force.

Splash! Whoosh!

Water started swirling violently around Arthur and his summons, all of whom remained perched on Aetherion's broad wings. The void dragon maintained his aerial position with steady wing beats, knowing that touching the domain's water would be catastrophic.

Arthur's earlier experience with the water-lock technique had taught him a harsh lesson—the shallow sea beneath them wasn't just terrain, it was a potential prison. He couldn't afford to make that mistake again.

Splash! Splash! Splash!

The swirling water began shaping itself into attack formations—sharp spears, cutting blades, crushing hammers. The objects were nothing sophisticated, just plain primitive shapes designed for maximum lethality. But their simplicity made them fast to form.

Arthur and Aetherion dodged desperately as the barrage intensified. The void dragon teleported repeatedly, barely avoiding water objects that whistled past their position with deadly velocity.

Slash!

But not every attack could be evaded. A razor-sharp water blade caught Aetherion's left wing, damaging the scales that normally resisted all damage. Blood sprayed from the wound as the dragon roared in pain.

"RAAAGH!"

"Aether!" Arthur immediately reached into his spatial storage, withdrawing healing potions and applying them to the injured wing even as they continued dodging. The crimson liquid seeped into the wound, beginning its restorative work.

Splash! Whoosh!

More attacks came relentlessly, forcing them to maintain constant evasive maneuvers. Arthur knew they couldn't survive this attrition battle—the flamingo could generate attacks indefinitely within its domain while their defensive options were limited.

"Bloom! Cackle Queen! Hit it now before it sends more attacks!"

Both legendary mental-offensive creatures responded immediately. Bloom's consciousness reached out with invisible tendrils of psychic manipulation through the pollen he had been releasing in the air, while the Cackle Queen's disturbing laughter penetrated directly into the flamingo's two minds.

SHRIEK!

The Tidal Flamingo's twin heads jerked violently as the mental assault struck home. The coordinated psychic attack created cognitive dissonance that momentarily overwhelmed the creature's concentration. Its water manipulation faltered, the ongoing barrage stuttering as the legendary beast struggled against the invasion of its consciousness.

The attacks stopped for a brief split second—barely noticeable, but enough.

"Now!" Arthur commanded.

Whoosh!

Aetherion teleported them directly before the disoriented flamingo, bringing them into close-quarters range where Arthur's orbital weapons would be most effective.

Arthur activated his Orbit skill with full intensity, multiple very-rare and epic-ranked items suddenly materializing around him. Swords, spears, axes—all began spinning in complex gravitational patterns before launching toward the flamingo's liquid armor.

Whirr! Clang! Slash!

Aetherion followed up with his spatial manipulation, his claws enhanced with space-cutting properties that allowed them to bypass conventional defenses. He slashed across the flamingo's reinforced chest, his talons tearing through water armor and coral-pink feathers to reach flesh beneath.

SLASH!

Bloom and the Cackle Queen struck again with their mental abilities, intensifying the psychic pressure on the legendary creature's consciousness. The flamingo's four eyes lost focus as competing thoughts and manufactured fears assaulted its mind from multiple vectors.

SHRIEK! SHRIEK!

Arthur's orbiting weapons found their marks repeatedly in the short moment. Each impact drawing blood and breaking through sections of the water armor that the flamingo couldn't maintain under the combined mental assault.

"Aether, teleport us out—NOW!"

The void dragon didn't hesitate. Even as their final attacks landed, Aetherion activated his spatial manipulation and yanked them away from ground zero.

Whoosh!

The teleportation proved decisive. A split second after they vacated their position, water crashed into the exact area they'd occupied with catastrophic force.

SPLASH! CRASH!

The Tidal Flamingo had recovered from the mental assault faster than expected, immediately retaliating with a massive water hammer that would have crushed them all if they'd remained even a moment longer. The legendary creature roared in pain and fury, dark blood streaming from multiple wounds where their coordinated assault had penetrated its defenses.

"SHRIEEEEK!"

The flamingo's rage echoed across the compressed domain as it felt the injuries it had sustained in the short moment it was dazed. Not even a second had passed yet the damage was really terrifying.

Arthur watched from afar, his mind processing the results of their assault. He knew that this was a one-off opportunity—such attacks couldn't be continuously repeated with the same effectiveness.

The Cackle Queen and Bloom had possessed the critical advantage of surprise. The Tidal Flamingo hadn't been prepared for mental attacks of that magnitude, allowing the psychic assault to create the opening they'd needed.

But now the legendary creature was aware of the threat, its mental defenses raised and reinforced against further cognitive intrusions.

The element of surprise had been spent, and the flamingo would no longer be caught off-guard by the same tactics. Still, Arthur didn't return his summons, they would still be useful for crucial mental distractions.

Splash…

Arthur's gaze shifted to the Winter Beast, whose bosy now showed signs of recovery. The rare-ranked healing potions had done their work—cracks had sealed, wounds had closed, and the creature's natural regeneration had restored most of its combat effectiveness.

Now healed, the Winter Beast was ready to rejoin the battle.

"Winter Beast, change to your smaller form!" Arthur commanded through their telepathic connection. "Aether, teleport us to him—quickly!"

The Winter Beast immediately began compressing its massive body, shrinking from its towering combat form to something more manageable. Flesh compacted as the creature reduced itself to roughly the size of a average human, small enough to ride on Aetherion's back alongside the other summons.

The Tidal Flamingo had been completely ignoring the Winter Beast so far, assuming the injured creature was out of the fight. It hadn't attacked in a while, lying still in the shallow water as if defeated or recovering. The legendary flamingo had dismissed it as a non-threat, focusing entirely on the aerial enemies that continued to harass it.

But when Arthur and Aetherion suddenly teleported directly toward the Winter Beast's position, the flamingo's four eyes widened with alarm.

Whoosh!

The creature's twin heads shrieked in unison, immediately understanding the implication.
