The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 359- Ninth Heavenly King

Reinhardt continued to stare at the girl with sympathy before speaking the words he knew would push her to the pits of despair.

"Your family is already dead, so is your grandma. The one who was playing pretend in front of you was not your family but a demon. See for yourself… [Radiant Benediction]".

At that very instant, piercing space and time, the purest fragment of light since the beginning of the primordial world, descended on the girl, and a feather dropped on top of her.

At that very instant, the illusion and the mental spell the demon cast on her disappeared along with all the negative energy slowly eating away at her soul.

Black smoke came out of her body, and Reinahrdt with his [Eyes of Divine Clarity], finally saw the trait [Girl Stuck In an Illusion] disappear from her status.

Jenea was finally freed from her illusion.

"T-T-This can't be happening. My family cannot be dead. Grandma, grandma cannot die. Ungh…sniff… this is a lie. You are telling… uwaahh."

The girl broke down crying. Getting freed from the illusion and accepting the reality were two different things. It was no wonder the girl refused to believe everything. She was very young and inexperienced about the world.

"B-Bring my grandma back… please. Uwaaahh."

Jenea made little fists and started pounding on his armor. Heartbroken and in despair, she kept demanding that he bring her back. However, reviving the dead who had long since passed away from this world and gone into the cycle of reincarnation was impossible even for this overpowered Divine Paladin.

It was the law of the universe, and as for raising the dead, it went against the natural law. It was not a miracle, no, it is the sacrilege of the highest order as the soul, once raised into the body of the dead again, forever loses its direction to return to the cycle of reincarnation and can only stay in that body, tormented for eternity.

The girl bawled out her frustration, sadness, and heartbreak. Finally, Reinahrdt had to stop her. He grabbed her fists and stopped her from punching him anymore— not because he was feeling pain but because his armor and body were so strong that the girl was getting hurt instead.

Jingle~ Jingle~

"Kukuku… it looks like you managed to destroy the spell we placed on her memories. Well, might as well, now that our plan has been foiled because of you, she is of no use to us."

As if the demons hadn't had enough toying with her already, the Jester-Jester appeared once again. Just like when it did in front of Skarnyx, even after getting killed many times.

"Girl, believe that man. He is telling the truth. Your grandma is long dead. My master peeled off her skin and was wearing it the entire time to make you believe it was her. I have to say, it was quite amusing seeing her play the part so immaculately".

The demon continued to taunt as if wanting to make the girl feel even more miserable and feed off of her negative energy. However, he chose the wrong opponent to act tough with.

With his Divine Trait [Unyieling Presence] active, there was no way anything in this world could cause her to feel despair.

"Get lost!"

"Kukuku" the Jester-Jester laughed. "I know you are strong. However, you cannot kill me… eh?"

Took the demon a long time to understand. The new body of the Jester-Jester that newly appeared was also starting to slowly crumble and turn into ash.

Reinahrdt was not like Skarnyx, such petty tricks did not work in front of him.

"W-What did you do?" Jester-Jester asked. Though even he knew that the knight did not move from his place, his body was crumbling apart on its own.

With regard to the shock plastered on the demon, Reinhardt paid it no attention. Having hit the other party with the third technique of the [Godhand Ascendance], they would die regardless of where their real body was.

Within a few seconds, the body of the Jester-Jester crumbled apart, turned into ashes. As for its real body, just like Reinhardt had surmised, it too was burning and crumbling apart.

.

Somewhere far into the human lands, in the middle of a vast forest. The real body of the Jester-Jester was slowly cracking apart as white lines spread all around its body, slowly disintegrating it.

"M-Master… save me!!" The demon reached out to its master, the Ninth Heavenly King, who at this moment had the appearance of the old woman.

The latter looked at the body of the Jester-Jester and felt a chill run down her spine. She could see those white divine fire which was burning with such intense heat that it could burn through anything in this world.

Of course, as dangerous as it was, it was equally beautiful. The white fire burned soundlessly and without releasing any heat into the atmosphere. In fact, one might not even feel like it was fire; of course, unless one was getting burned from it, that is.

Even she, the Ninth Heavenly King, didn't dare to touch those flames. Nevertheless, she cannot just abandon this subordinate of hers that was immensely useful.

Tsk… In the end, she clicked her tongue and pierced the chest of the demon, her hand digging in. Next, she yanked something out of the body and threw it on the ground.

The thing that she pulled out was a heart, and not just any heart, but an extremely disturbing looking one at that too.

With eight tentacles squirming around, the thing actually looked alive. After having its heart ripped out, the disintegration of the Jester-Jester body increased, and soon it turned into white dust.

That said, the demon wasn't dead yet, as a new body formed out of the heart that was just pulled out. This one did not have any divine energy contamination on it.

"T-Thank you, master." Seeing that it was alive, the Jester-Jester thanked its master.
