Chapter 343: Can’t Transform

Li Yao held her chin thoughtfully, “Void Sword…Void Silk…Senior brother, your naming is…” she began.

“What do you think?” Xiang Yu asked.

“Really good. Me like it a lot,” she said.

Internally, she thought to herself that the name didn’t sound all that good, but her Senior Brother was so smart, so he probably already knew that.

Then why would he name it like that? Of course, there was only one reason, he had named her weapon the Void Sword and his the Void Silk. This meant that he loved her and wanted to be married to her, and they could spend the rest of their lives together. She blushed, covering her face. Senior brother was proposing to her! What should she do now?

Xiang Yu held his chin, wondering if the name wasn’t good. He had tried his best. What was up with her?

[Get ready, the enemy is approaching] the Empress said.

Xiang Yu and Li Yao instantly got serious.

Xiang Yu breathed deeply to calm himself. He thought to himself that he had done all the preparations he could possibly do. He backed away from Li Yao, who had now started to feel his muscles through his tight clothing. He then activated his cloning ability, and instantly, two copies of himself appeared next to him. The moment they appeared, both the two new copies and the old three copies instantly broke through space and disappeared, each going toward their own destination.

Xiang Yu thought to himself that the clones should be at about the peak of Void Realm in combat power. With this, they should easily be able to destroy the demon flowers. The only problem he saw was probably with the Central Continent. He hoped they weren’t camping outside the flower.

He then appeared before Li Yao. “Are you ready?” he asked.

Li Yao nodded in response. She closed her eyes.

Her face showed signs of strain. She then frowned, opening her eyes. “Umm, Senior Brother,” she started.

“Is something wrong?” he asked.

She nodded. “I can’t transform…” she said.

Tianling sat in the air, steadily absorbing the energy of the world.

After some time, she slowly opened her eyes. She saw the energy of the world core rapidly declining. She panicked, wondering what was happening. Had the treasure suddenly decided to absorb all the world energy?

No, that wasn’t it. From the way it was being absorbed, she could tell that it was the world doing it intentionally.

“A treasure baptism?” she wondered aloud.

“And from this level of energy, two…scratch that, three heavenly level weapons are being baptized,” she said in shock. She wondered who could create three heavenly weapons in this mortal world so suddenly.

She smiled, finally understanding what was happening.

It seemed she had overestimated the Central Continent. No wonder they didn’t make a move, they were afraid of the immortal treasure in her hands.

“Did they think three heavenly weapons are enough to rival an immortal weapon?” she mused. She thought to herself that they really surprised her with how they managed to create them all at once, but it seemed it was just that: surprising.

In the end, it wouldn’t amount to anything.

She raised her hand and golden energy appeared. This was immortal qi.

“Although it’s just the entry level of the Earth Immortal Realm, barely worth anything, it’s still something,” she said. “With this, I should be able to use my law.”

She thought to herself that even if a peak Earth Immortal appeared, could they defeat her mastery over her law which she had studied for over a hundred million years?

“What? You can’t transform?” Xiang Yu asked in shock.

Li Yao nodded, her expression troubled.

Xiang Yu’s mind raced. Why was this happening now? He had almost forgotten that the complete Li Yao’s form worked differently from the others. What were they supposed to do now? Losing Li Yao was like fifty percent of their combat power gone, and counting her protagonist luck, it was more like seventy percent.

[What are you guys panicking about?] the Empress asked.

“She can’t transform,” Xiang Yu explained.

The Empress chuckled hearing this, seemingly unconcerned by this.

“Do you have a solution?” Xiang Yu asked, as expected of the empress, he thought.

The Empress smiled. [The complete Li Yao form is quite simple and doesn’t require much for it to work, just for the two to be in complete sync. The only downside is that even just one thing off could mess up the whole thing,] the Empress explained.

[It’s hard for the two to be completely in sync,] the Empress continued, [but you can solve that easily.]

“How?” Xiang Yu asked, eager for any solution.

[Just ask,] the Empress replied simply.

“You mean…”

She nodded. [Yeah, just ask her to do it. The two of them always listen to you. Just tell them to merge.]

The Empress thought to herself that without an immediate sense of danger, it was hard to get these two to be in complete sync as they mostly did it out of desperation. If the danger arrived now, they probably would merge, but that would be inefficient and leave no time for strategizing. Although Xiang Yu could also strategize with base Li Yao, she glanced at the girl and sighed. Well, she wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, so it was better to just discuss with complete Li Yao.

The Empress felt that since both forms had the same feelings toward their Senior Brother, it should be easy for them to get in sync when he was the one asking. And just like she had predicted, the moment Xiang Yu asked both of them to merge, it instantly worked.

“Senior Brother…” Li Yao spoke, her voice now more measured and refined. As well as slightly formal.

Xiang Yu smiled, noting to himself that her mannerism changed instantly when she transformed. He wondered if she was actually this kind of reserved person deep down. To be honest, it was hard to think of Li Yao as this kind of person.

He shook his head to dismiss the thoughts, now was not the time for that. They didn’t have much time left.
