Chapter 342: Heavenly Treasures [PART 2]
When the empress and the world core activated the concealment, Xiang Yu channeled his energy into the three treasures, guiding them toward completion.
He had already completed most of the work, with only this final step remaining.
The three treasures – the void sword, the repaired tower, and Xiang Yu’s new weapon – began to glow with brilliant golden light and slowly levitated into the air.
Before they could ascend too high, the world core appeared above them.
Tiny hands materialized from the core and stretched outward. Streams of blue energy flowed from the core onto the weapons, bathing them in the world’s baptism. As the core performed this ritual, visible signs of strain appeared across its surface. The price for baptizing a heavenly grade weapon was already tremendously high, and now the core was operating at less than half its energy.
Xiang Yu watched nervously, wondering if the process would succeed.
He knew that a heavenly grade weapon required an enormous amount of qi during its creation to solidify its rank. Without this initial charge, the weapons might become unusable unless he could somehow recharge them later. Fortunately, when weapons and other treasures are first created, they receive their initial charge from the world itself.
This was a kind of blessing from the world.
When he had asked the empress why the world would allow this as it was like taking from the world without providing anything in return, she explained that it was actually the opposite. “The more high-level cultivators and treasures exist in a world, the more chances it has to level up. The world is simply investing in itself by allowing treasures like these to be created,” she had told him. “Besides, when all that energy is used during combat, it eventually returns to the world anyway.”
After several minutes, the baptism process concluded.
Both the empress and the world core withdrew their techniques. The world core had changed dramatically, now appearing as though it might collapse at any moment. Xiang Yu caught it as it fell from the air.
“Thank you,” he said.
“You can leave the rest to us.” He offered a reassuring smile.
The world core also smiled faintly, thinking to itself that perhaps the space monster wasn’t so bad after all. With that final thought, it closed its eyes and slipped into hibernation.
Xiang Yu carefully handed the core to the empress who performed several hand signs, causing the core to vanish. She thought to herself that materializing an avatar at this critical moment would be wasteful. It was better for the world core to rest and recover its strength. Otherwise, even if they emerged victorious in the coming battle, they might not survive if the world itself couldn’t endure.
…
Xiang Yu approached his creations, reaching first for the void sword.
He assessed its weight in his hands, noting with satisfaction how sturdy it felt.
The properties were about the same as before, but the raw power one could channel through it had more than tripled. He had also incorporated some void, space, and yin-yang crystals into the mixture, enhancing its abilities even further.
He calculated that although Li Yao couldn’t yet harness its full potential, this weapon should elevate her combat ability to the tribulation realm—at least in terms of pure damage output. The tribulation realm involved other aspects like speed and various techniques, but overall, if she could deliver a clean strike, the impact should reach that level.
As he stood admiring the sword, Li Yao approached from behind. “Senior brother, are you done?” she asked.
“That’s right,” he replied, turning to face her. “Here.”
Li Yao’s eyes widened, sparkling with wonder as she beheld the sword.
Physically, it appeared mostly unchanged, but the pure energy radiating from the blade was simply overwhelming. She could sense this connection even more intensely because of the soul rune linking them which Xiang Yu had enhanced even further, strengthening her synergy with the sword even more.
She carefully extended both hands and grasped the sword, feeling waves of power flowing through it, then coursing through her entire body as she tried to pass qi through it. She thought to herself that with this weapon, she should be able to win, no, she would definitely win. She wouldn’t allow her senior brother’s efforts to go to waste.
“Take this too,” Xiang Yu said, handing her the scabbard. He hadn’t possessed enough materials to upgrade the scabbard to heavenly grade, but it still managed to reach the first grade divine weapon. This would suffice for now.
She accepted the scabbard and slid the sword into it with reverence. She hugged it close to her chest, feeling its resonance with her own energy. As she did this, a thought suddenly occurred to her and she looked up at Xiang Yu with curious eyes.
“Senior brother, where is your weapon?” she asked.
“Mine? You want to see it?”
Li Yao nodded eagerly, wondering what kind of OP weapon her senior brother had made for himself. Since her senior brother had made it, it had to be extraordinary.
“Here it is,” Xiang Yu announced, opening his palm to reveal something resting on its surface. It was a small, round dark ball, seemingly unremarkable.
Li Yao stared at it, blinking several times in confusion. She even wiped her eyes, convinced she must be missing something. “Senior brother, I don’t see it,” she admitted, unable to believe her senior brother would choose a simple rock as his weapon of choice.
Xiang Yu shook his head at her skepticism. “Don’t underestimate it,” he said. At that moment, the round ball transformed, becoming fluid-like and flattening across his palm.
Li Yao’s eyes sparkled with interest as she witnessed this.
“Don’t be impressed yet,” he said with a smug smile. The fluid-like material suddenly expanded, flowing outward to cover his entire body in tight, futuristic clothing.
He spread his arms wide for her to see. “What do you think?” he asked, proud of his creation.
“So cool!” Li Yao exclaimed, clapping her hands together.
Xiang Yu smiled. This was every man’s dream, to possess a nano suit. Although it wasn’t technically a nano suit, it was somewhat similar. The suit was custom-made specifically for him, achieving one hundred percent synergy with him. After all, a partition of his soul formed the core of the suit.
With a casual wave of his hand, more material flowed from the suit, instantly transforming into a sword. Another wave, and more material flowed into his other hand, forming a reinforced glove. With merely a thought, both manifestations vanished instantly, reabsorbed into the suit.
“Wow,” Li Yao was completely mesmerized by the display.
“What’s the name of the weapon?” she asked.
Xiang Yu placed his hand thoughtfully on his chin. “Hmm, I haven’t really thought about it yet,” he mused aloud.
“What about…no, that’s copyrighted,” after a moment’s consideration, he came up with something, “This is void silk.”
