Chapter 242 - 026: Thank you Element Tower

Chapter 242: 026: Thank you, Element Tower

Standing on the reef, Lynch plucked the strings, the magnetic human voice mixed with beautiful music, forming an elegantly tuned ballad that echoed within the cave.

To make the sound more penetrating, Lynch intentionally used magic while singing.

As the song transmitted, a few blurry images suddenly appeared around him, resembling young human girls but with bird-like wings.

[Banshee’s Song]

A High-level Apprentice Magic from Morris’s Spiritual Handbook. Ever since receiving the complete inheritance from Frey, Lynch began learning it and had long mastered its contents to the max level.

[Morris’s Bloodline Integration max]

[Morris’s Spiritual Handbook max]

[Morris’s Magic Handbook max]

Thus, Lynch elevated all three major legacies left by Wizard Morris of the Shadow Swamp to the max level.

The [Banshee’s Song] before him was a spell from Morris’s Spiritual Handbook. Learning this spell required the souls of harpies, which could trigger these soul illusions to cast the Banshee’s Illusion Technique.

At this moment,

they surrounded Lynch, opening their mouths to produce varying pitches to harmonize with him, making Lynch’s previously monotonous voice rich as if not singing alone but giving a grand performance.

Listening to this beautiful music, the Two-headed Octopus’s dull gaze brightened again, childhood scenes flashing across its eyes.

The rising sun, the sailboat, the sailors.

And it, hiding behind the reef waving its tentacles to beat time, bouncing and hopping.

Everything was so wonderful…

After the Two-headed Octopus passed away, a few large crabs emerged from the surrounding seafood, carrying its heavy body to the back shore. According to the Catfish Monster, that was their burial ground, where this generation of the Sea Clan was laid to rest after passing.

It was indeed peculiar for a sea creature to choose land as its final resting place.

With this matter concluded, Lynch and his group were ready to continue their journey, but before they set off again, the Catfish Monster brought him a gift, an extraordinary gift…

“What? You want me to wait?”

Returning to the Deep Sea Region, the Catfish Monster asked Lynch not to rush to set sail, then dived into the sea.

When it returned to the surface, its extended tentacles were dragging a sunken ship.

It looked ancient, covered by a thick layer of seaweed and silt, already broken beyond recognition.

However, Lynch’s eyes lit up at the first sight of this dilapidated sunken ship.

“Wizard Ship?”

Though severely damaged, some twisted characters covered by seaweed could still be faintly seen, runes engraved on the hull. Evidently, this dilapidated craft was a Wizard Ship only a wizard could command.

Lynch was truly delighted, never expecting what seemed like a trivial incident would unexpectedly bring him such a substantial gift.

He quickly flew over.

The hull was severely damaged and soaked for so long that the main part was mostly unsalvageable, but many precious parts remained that wouldn’t easily corrode.

What’s more amazing was Lynch’s surprising discovery that the ship’s most crucial control system was almost fully preserved, a rare device formed by a series of magic arrays, runes, and precious alchemy parts.

’Haha, I’ve hit the jackpot!’

This was the Wizard Ship’s most intricate part, its most costly component, worth at least tens of millions if the Wizard Ship cost over a billion Magic Stones.

Millions of Magic Stones… what a grand surprise!

Lynch promptly disassembled this control system in its entirety; this was the toughest part of the Wizard Ship, containing highly complex knowledge beyond Lynch’s current skill level, even with a blueprint.

However, if he possessed this device, everything else would be much simpler. With the right materials, crafting a Wizard Ship would be no problem at all.

Securing the control system, Lynch further explored inside the Wizard Ship.

The cabin had become a haven for marine life, with dense seagrass, mud, and various shells, starfish, and other marine species.

Amidst this seafood paradise lay several corpses in disarray.

Calling them corpses was inaccurate; they were essentially scattered bones. Without Lynch’s Necromancy studies, he might not even recognize those bits and pieces tangled by seaweed as remains.

He walked over to pick up those bones for a look, roughly a dozen of them, including human, goblin, and dwarf bones, likely the Wizard Ship’s crew.

’If the crew is dead, the Wizard Ship’s owner must…’

Lynch was intrigued, continuing his deep exploration of the deck, and sure enough, at the cabin’s end, he found another skeleton.

This skeleton was relatively intact, wrapped in a tattered cloak, with marine creatures and seaweed seemingly avoiding it, leaving a surprisingly clean surrounding area.

The Wizard’s force field exists for ages even posthumously, from a higher dimensional life’s field that daunts ordinary creatures.

Lynch approached the skeleton, not rushing closer, instead extending his Spiritual Field to perceive it from a distance.

The Wizard World was rife with bizarre means; even deceased wizards couldn’t be handled carelessly, one never knows what spell or curse they left to surprise those who dared disturb their remains.

Fortunately, this particular wizard seemed devoid of such machinations. Through perception, Lynch detected no anomalies.

Still a bit cautious, he didn’t approach directly but summoned a Skeleton Brother from the Sealing Technique Book to explore forward, keeping himself well away.

The Skeleton Brother rummaged around and quickly retrieved two valuable items from the wizard: a one-foot-long Short Magic Wand and a Space Pocket.

Lynch first examined the wand, crafted from Thunderstruck Wood with a large Magic Crystal embedded, boasting excellent magic conduction properties, worth tens of thousands of Magic Stones on the market.

Next, he took the Magic Stone Bag, his expression turned serious upon inspecting it.

Engraved on the bag was a peculiar magic emblem, a circular magic array covered with six basic elements.

Lynch recalled seeing this magic emblem in a book, it was clearly…

“Element Tower?”

Lynch looked up in surprise at the skeleton lying inside: “An Element Tower Wizard?”

The Element Tower, like the Truth Church, was one of the world’s highest order’s creators, one of the few Five-Ring Wizard powers!

“Why did they perish here?”

Lynch surveyed the surroundings, noticeable battle remnants evident in the cabin, suggesting an unusual shipwreck.

This added to the puzzle for such a significant force’s wizard, even encountering trouble, the knowledge of their identity would ensure others cautioned in dealings…

“It seems identity may not always be trustworthy either!”

This scene reminded Lynch once again that in this perilous world, strength held in one’s hands was the only truly reliable asset.

….

After finishing the exploration of the Wizard Ship, Lynch and his party set out once more.

Before departure, the Catfish Monster presented another gift, a conch shell. If Lynch encountered a problem in this sea he couldn’t resolve, he could blow the conch, and the sound would quickly spread through the area to the Catfish Monster via a special force field.

Lynch had made his first friend in this ocean…
