Emperor’s Domination

Chapter 6738: Hatchet Immortal

Chapter 6738: Hatchet Immortal

“Hatchet Immortal.” The immortal staggered backward with a serious expression.

He released his divine intent and didn’t spot anyone else, feeling much better.

“Just you?” He uttered coldly.

“Enough to kill you.” The old man stretched while holding the hatchet.

“Your foundation is still shallow...” He said.

“Enough to kill you still.” The old man interrupted.

“Hahaha, immortals from the nine worlds and thirteen continents are so cocky.” He sneered.

“Incorrect, we are known as Eight Desolaces and six continents now. And it’s not cocky, it’s earned prestige from everyone’s fearless feats.” The old man shook his head.

“Prestige? How long do you think this will last?” He said: "You are nothing more than a world outside Heaven Realm. In its prime, it was far beyond anything your world could compare to. More magnificent epochs have arrived, only to wither with time.”

“I’m aware, but we’re not here to strive for fame.” The old man said.

“Then what is it that you seek?” His eyes turned sharp.

“To challenge the heaven, the final battle.” The old man said.

“Hahaha!” He burst out in laughter: “Hatchet, you think too highly of your world. The final battle? Do you know the significance behind this? Not to mention members of an outer world, the greatest plans concocted here have failed.”

“How are you an immortal when you lack determination?” The old man said: “It appears the immortals in Heaven Realm lack a proper dao heart, can’t compare to the emperors of our world. No wonder you fell to the darkness and joined Devouring Alliance.”

He turned red with rage but took a deep breath: “Hatchet, don’t try to glorify your group. For years now, those from your world are still nothing more than ants.”

“I have been told about our struggling years.” The old man said: “The wise sages came, challenging the heaven and laying the groundwork. Many met untimely deaths.”

“Haha, they were delicious.” He sneered: “Your emperors and even immortals taste far better than the beings of Heaven Realm, there’s a wildness to it.”

“You deserve to be cut down for your disrespect.” The old man uttered coldly.

“Haha, cut me down, that’s fine. You will become just like me in the future, a fallen immortal. This is inevitable.” He said.

“All I can say is your path has been too easy.” The old man said: “We became immortals to challenge the heaven. For this, we never wavered nor retreated.”

“And when will you be challenging the heaven?” He said sarcastically.

“Heaven Realm is our camp, we shall march once we get rid of the fallen ones.” The old man declared.

“Heaven Realm belongs to no one. It is unfathomable for the likes of you, frogs under the well. There is no lack of immortals or fallen ones here.” He laughed.

“We press forward regardless of how arduous the path is.” The old man said firmly.

“Relying on willpower and the dao heart, is that enough? There are plenty of shored immortals here.” He uttered coldly.

“Our resolve is true so we can die without regrets. Indeed, there are powerful immortals here but we will still cut them down once they are fallen. Your Devouring Alliance is a main target.” The old man said.

“Our alliance is ancient beyond your imagination.” He replied.

“Mang was old, this didn’t save him from a deserved death.” The old man said.

His expression soured. Mang was the founder of his alliance and its oldest immortal. However, Mang’s killer was none other than Immortal Emperor Min Ren, a member of an outer world. To do so, the emperor paid the heaviest price - his life.

This established prestige for those who came from the nine worlds. Guardian Alliance became one of the strongest factions in Heaven Realm.

In the past, this alliance was weak. Its members claimed to come to challenge the heaven but barely survived the journey. Nevertheless, they miraculously started a stronghold and grew stronger, step by step.

They displayed an unprecedented resilience and always talked about their dao heart. Although many of them became food for immortals, survivors never wavered.

As time passed, some of them became immortals. Under the leadership of Immortal Emperor Min Ren, they took control of two major worlds - Heavenly Desolace and Grand Thousand World.

“Hatchet, it’s not like your world didn’t have fallen ones.” He retorted.

“As long as we move forward, some will falter.” The old man said: “However, I’m sure the majority will persevere until death.”

“Hmph.” He snorted. This was the reason why the natives despised those from the nine worlds. They were stones in a latrine, stinky and hard. Their so-called dao heart makes them eager to fight to the death.

“Ready to die? We must eradicate Devouring Alliance.” The old man aimed his hatchet at the opponent.

“Who will eradicate us?” Another cultivator joined the conversation.

The old man turned around and didn’t see anyone. His divine intent couldn’t find anything either. The voice clearly belonged to someone far stronger than him.

He assumed a defensive stance; his battle intent rose sharply.

“The struggling of a cornered beast. Very well, it’s been a long time since I’ve feasted on an immortal from the nine worlds.” The voice said.

“It’s a good plan, not only do we get to devour this world but also a sumptuous immortal feast.” The first immortal smiled.

“Looks like you came prepared. Come out.” Hatchet said calmly.

“You are not alone either. Show yourself.” The hidden immortal said.

“Impressive, few can spot me in Heaven Realm, even fewer in Devouring Alliance since they are dead. Who might you be?” Another old man appeared, holding a jointed bamboo staff.

His robe was tattered and kept together with patches. They were sewn crookedly as if the person had poor craftsmanship. However, a closer look at the old man explained it - he was blind.

His eyes were nearly shut, as if stitched closed. Huge eye bags hung beneath them like two fleshy orbs, leaving only a narrow slit. It was uncertain whether he could see at all, and even if he could, his vision must have been extremely limited.

He was emaciated with cheekbones jutting sharply and forming skeletal hollows that gave him an eerie appearance.

His entire frame was as thin and fragile as a bamboo stalk, seeming so delicate that a mere gust of wind could send him drifting to the horizon.
