Chapter 1266: BACK IN THE GAME

As soon as they logged into the game, Luo Yan and Shen Ji Yun materialized inside their team headquarters. They had barely been there a minute when a voice suddenly called out to them, filling the quiet space.

"Master! Captain!"

Luo Yan looked toward the voice and saw a handsome young man with fox ears rushing toward them. He had long, ink-black hair that cascaded down his back and vivid blue eyes that shone like polished sapphires. His features were sharp yet elegant, with a fair complexion that contrasted with his dark hair. He wore a white under-robe with wide, deep red trousers tied at the waist, and a light outer coat decorated with gold patterns along the edges. Most striking of all, nine large, fluffy black tails spread out behind him, each one swaying gracefully as he moved closer.

Luo Yan smiled as he watched Eclipse hurry toward them. The other had finally gained two more tails. Now that he had all nine tails, his human form had changed from a teenager into a young man. Even his fox form had grown much larger, nearly the size of a direwolf. This would likely be Eclipse's final form.

Eclipse looked very excited and moved to hug Luo Yan as soon as he reached them. But before he could, Shen Ji Yun grabbed him by the collar and stopped him.

The handsome fox turned to Shen Ji Yun with a pout. "Captain, are you being jealous again? How many times must I say I don't like Master that way? Please stop acting like I'm trying to steal him every time I get close. It's very childish and makes you seem immature. You're even losing your cool image when you act like this."

Luo Yan could not help but laugh when he heard this. He turned to his boyfriend. "What do you have to say for yourself, Brother Ji Yun?"

Shen Ji Yun looked embarrassed before releasing Eclipse's collar. He cleared his throat. "I apologize for my behavior. I could not control it. My body moved before I could think."

And he was telling the truth. He never really minded when Eclipse still looked like a child. But when the other began turning into a teenager, and now a young man, he could not help feeling annoyed every time he saw Eclipse clinging to Luo Yan. He knew it was probably unreasonable, especially since Eclipse was not actually human. But everything in Arcadia felt so real that watching Eclipse hug Luo Yan felt like watching another man hug his boyfriend. So yes, he did not like it one bit.

Eclipse gave Shen Ji Yun a look full of understanding, as if he was looking at a fool in love. "I get it. With me being this handsome, it's only natural for Captain to feel jealous. But don't worry, Master is very loyal to you. Even if he meets someone as good looking as me, he would never betray you."

Shen Ji Yun looked like he had been choked by Eclipse's words, which only made Luo Yan laugh even harder.

After laughing for a moment, Luo Yan gave Eclipse a brief hug. He had genuinely missed him. Since he did not have his VR helmet with him, he had not been able to enter Arcadia for several days. While he did have that app Shen Ji Yun made, which let him talk to Eclipse, he still preferred to interact with the other like this.

"So, do you have any new updates for us, Eclipse?" he asked.

"I have a lot to share," Eclipse said excitedly. "But can we talk while we eat? I'm feeling a bit hungry."

Luo Yan chuckled, ruffling Eclipse's hair. "Then let's go to Yuexing Pavilion."

The large table in the private room reserved for Yunyue at Yuexing Pavilion was covered with various traditional dishes. There was a whole steamed fish with ginger and scallions, a rich braised pork belly, stir-fried seasonal vegetables, a hearty chicken soup, and fluffy white rice. Plates of dumplings and spring rolls completed the meal. A special plate of glowing mana fruits was also placed near Eclipse, since this was the fox's favorite.
