Chapter 1305: Eliminated

Chapter 1305: Eliminated

Izroth checked through his system alerts; however, there was no mention of a quest time adjustment.

’If the system is not the one behind it, then did someone else interfere in some way? Either way, it’s not as if I can leave it alone. I suppose my meeting with the Kroma family will have to wait for a bit. I’ll have to go see for myself.’

Izroth put the cloak back on before making his way toward the private room’s exit.

’The group from the Undying Desolate Valley purchased several items, so they shouldn’t be going anywhere anytime soon. Whether they’re actively working with the creature from the Netherworld or not—I will judge for myself.’

"Supreme Elder." Griselle greeted Izroth with a polite bow as he walked out of the private room.

"The room where the guests from the Undying Desolate Valley are located—escort me there." Izroth stated calmly.

"Yes, Supreme Elder. Please, follow me." Griselle said as she led the way without question.

Under normal circumstances, one was not allowed to disclose the location of another group’s private room unless a situation such as earlier with Dagraen occurred, where both parties agreed.

However, since Izroth was a Supreme Elder of the Fourth Pavilion, he could also be seen as a higher-up in the Golden Treasure House. As such, the same rules that applied for other guests did not apply to him.

...

Izroth followed Griselle to a different area of the floor where the VIP rooms were situated. During this time, Izroth kept a close eye on the Hunted By A Creature of the Netherworld(3) quest to make sure nothing changed.

"This is the room where the representatives of the Undying Desolate Valley reside. Since the protective magic formations are still active, the guests must still be inside the room." Griselle said as she stopped in front of one of the private room doors.

Izroth removed the Circlet of Darkness from his inventory. The moment he did so, it turned pitch black. It was just as Griselle reported previously.

’There’s no doubt. Someone who possesses Nether Energy is on the other side of this door. In that case...’

"You’ve done well. I will take care of things from here. Go find Pavilion Head Vexpela and help sort the items I received from the auction into my private storage. If you run into any issues, let me know." Izroth said calmly.

"Understood, Supreme Elder. Please, take good care of yourself." Griselle responded before she took her leave.

’With the magic formations in place, I can’t tell what’s going on inside the room, even with my Energy Vision Sense. Since I have no idea what to expect, the fewer people around, the better.’

Just as Izroth was about to return the Circlet of Darkness to his inventory, its color changed. The once pitch black bracelet returned to its original state.

At the same time, Izroth received several alerts from the system.

〈System Alert: Congratulations, you have completed the quest «Hunted By A Creature of the Netherworld(3)»!〉

〈System Alert: You have received x50 «Spirit Voucher»!〉

〈System Alert: The following Bonus Objective(s) have been completed. [Difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard, Impossible]〉

〈System Alert: You have received x175 «Spirit Voucher»!〉

〈System Alert: You have received x1 «Restricted Supreme Spirit Voucher»!〉

〈System Alert: A hidden Bonus Objective «Defeat Faceless Death Stalker without receiving any damage or attacking him» has been cleared. An additional reward will be provided.〉

〈System Alert: You have received x7 «Netherworld Exchange Token».〉

"This is..." Izroth narrowed his eyes as he read over the system alerts.

’To think I would also receive the Impossible clear even though more than five minutes have passed. Then, does the timer for the Impossible clear not start until I participate in combat with the netherworld creature itself? Or, at the very least, enter its sights? Either way, I suppose this works out, but... Were they not working together, after all?’

Out of nowhere, the quest had been completed without Izroth having to lift a finger. This meant that the Faceless Death Stalk had been eliminated by someone or something. Though, given the fact that the Circlet of Darkness was pitch black just a second ago and had now returned to normal, Izroth believed that the Netherworld creature must have been taken out by someone.

It could be that the Faceless Death Stalker had somehow been discovered by the group from the Undying Desolate Valley and dealt with accordingly. Or, perhaps a third party was involved.

’Since the quest has been completed, there’s no longer a need to confront them. However, it’s best that I confirm what took place. More importantly, I want to find out the reason behind why the time limit for the quest stopped.’

After a brief moment of gathering his thoughts, Izroth knocked on the door to the private room.

"This is the Supreme Elder of the Fourth Pavilion. I would like to meet with the occupants of this room to discuss a few matters." Izroth said in a straightforward manner.

At the moment, there was practically no one who participated in the auction that was not curious about his identity as the Supreme Elder of the Fourth Pavilion. After all, before today, it was someone who had never even existed. Therefore, Izroth decided to use the curiosity of others to his advantage.

At first, Izroth was met with silence. But, after a few breaths passed, the door to the private room opened slightly.

"You may enter, Supreme Elder of the Fourth Pavilion." A gentle, feminine voice sounded from the private room.

The moment the door opened, Izroth used his Energy Vision Sense to scan inside of the room.

’There are five people inside—two of which are in the legendary realm. As for the other three... Despite not having stepped into the legendary realm, two of them can be considered strong by the average standards of the Seven Kingdoms. The last one, however—it’s the first time I’ve seen someone with such overflowing and pure divine power. It makes the divine power I felt from the Right Song of Siren, Enigma seem laughable.’

When Izroth fought Enigma, the second-in-command of the assassin organization Siren, he used divine power bestowed upon him by the God of Disharmony.

Even though Enigma’s divine power was not that strong, he was still capable of using the skill given to him by the God of Disharmony to utilize the Law of Causality. While the effects were severely limited compared to one who could truly and freely manipulate the Law of Causality, Izroth had to use the effects of Zakra’s Harmonic Spear of Causality to counter it.

Although the exchange was brief, it was a battle where Izroth experienced what it was like to go up against someone with divine power firsthand. They were individuals that one could not afford to let their guard down against. This was even more so depending on the divine being behind the source of that person’s divine power.

’It’s faint, but I can sense lingering traces of Nether energy. This is definitely the correct room.’

Once Izroth finished assessing the situation in the room, he pushed the door open and walked in.

Izroth was greeted by the sight of five individuals who were split into two separate groups, accompanied by a somewhat heavy atmosphere.

The group on the left consisted of three men encompassed with a gloomy aura. The three men had pale skin, as if they detested the sun, along with a pair of sunken red eyes. They wore a set of dark red robes with a hood pulled over their heads.

The man who stood at the front of their group had a necklace carved of what appeared to be the charred bones of a beast and currently had an annoyed expression on his face.

’Based on their appearance alone, they must be from the Undying Desolate Valley. The one with the charred bones around his neck is one of the two legendary realm figures I detected earlier with my Energy Vision Sense. But, he should only be around the initial stage of the legendary realm.’
