Hidden Moth

Chapter 65: Existence and Nothingness

According to Huang Xiaopang, as long as you "see" that door, use the Hidden Moth Object as a "key" to open it and walk through, you can become a true Hidden Moth.

But at this moment, He Kao doesn't have this thought, because the state after entering the Hidden Moth Temple dissolves even the self, leaving only the true existence of all things.

The time one can maintain this state during cultivation is not long, nor should it be prolonged. The so-called diligent practice means something else in this context, emphasizing heartfelt comprehension and daily perseverance.

Almost two hours later, He Kao opened his eyes. He sat in the dark, but his consciousness seemed to "see" a portal in the hidden chamber on the third floor, distinctly present.

He quietly got off the bed and went upstairs, almost without making a sound, arriving at the hidden chamber.

According to the blueprints left by his father years ago, this hidden chamber was designed peculiarly. Once the door is blocked, it's hard for outsiders to notice such a secret space here.

The shape of the chamber is long and narrow, about five meters deep, but less than two meters wide. Xiaopang positioned the portal right in the center of the chamber, dividing it equally front and back.

He Kao could sense the portal but didn't know what kind of space it led to. He walked towards the portal but directly passed to the other end of the chamber.

This portal is invisible; if it can't be opened, it's as if it doesn't exist.

To open it, one must use some sort of medium... He Kao took out the Beast Claw Pendant from his chest, tried it in the chamber, but found it ineffective.

This door surprisingly has a direction; it seems you have to enter from that previous direction. He "passed" through again, turned to face the portal, drew the Beast Claw in his hand, then stepped in.

He mysteriously disappeared from the chamber...! Could it be he no longer exists in this world?

He Kao's feelings at this moment were even more shocking. He couldn't describe where he had arrived because the essence of this "space" seemed indescribable as it had no "content".

No content meant a void, nothing existing; the eyes could not see, the ears could not hear, the nose could not smell, the tongue could not taste, and the body could not touch. All senses lost feedback because there was no object to perceive.

Even in an absolutely quiet environment, one can still hear sounds, like their own breathing and heartbeat, including blood flow, stomach gurgling, and other subtle sounds usually unheard of.

Even if there's nothing external, the sense of touch still exists, at least one can feel their own body.

But He Kao's feelings at this moment were different; he saw nothing, heard nothing... even to the extent of having no eyes to see nor ears to hear; he sensed nothing, not even himself.

It was as if the self inexplicably vanished, leaving only pure consciousness, seemingly nowhere yet everywhere.

How vast is this so-called Hidden Moth Space? When nothing can be perceived, the size is irrelevant, infinitely large or infinitely small, both possible.

Even the concept of "space" doesn't exist; it's just a saying told by Huang Xiaopang.

This is the deepest Fixed Realm He Kao can achieve through cultivating the Hidden Moth Temple, even deeper than the Fixed Realm of the Hidden Moth Temple, where not only self-existence turns into nothingness but even the surrounding objects also cease to exist.

If He Kao hadn't cultivated the Hidden Moth Temple, an ordinary person probably couldn't adapt.

The body doesn't exist, the world doesn't exist, to retrieve it all back seems like returning to the world beyond the portal, then He Kao magically reappeared in the chamber!

He vanished mysteriously, and less than half a second later reappeared in place, with a confused look.

This feeling didn't seem like entering another space, as for this world, it's like he disappeared and then reappeared; to him, it's as if the world disappeared and then reappeared.

As if after passing through the portal, the world vanished.

This experience was completely different from what Huang Xiaopang described. If it were such a special state, Xiaopang would definitely have explained it to him, at least try to describe it... because beyond the portal, there really isn't any space!

Moreover, He Kao could only disappear and reappear in place, unable to, like Huang Xiaopang, open another portal to run to Thailand to get a batch of arms and store them in the so-called Hidden Moth Space for use at any time.

In that previous state, he couldn't even do anything!

What's going on? Unfortunately, Huang Xiaopang has lost the relevant memories, He Kao can't find anyone to ask, and the existence of every Hidden Moth is solitary; now he is the only Hidden Moth in this world.

Is it because he hasn't explored the Hidden Moth Space enough? But in that situation, how could he explore?

Could it be that the ability of the Hidden Moth he mastered is just to play a boring game of "I'm gone, I'm back" in this chamber?

No, no, definitely not! This portal wasn't originally here; it was Xiaopang who put it in this location. He Kao should be able to place it somewhere else again.

With this thought, He Kao consciously slid the pendant, and the door vanished. Then he turned and went downstairs, arriving at the staircase between the second and third floors, and with another slide of the Beast Claw, the door appeared again.

This means that He Kao has mastered at least one aspect of the Invisibility Ability. He can retract the door and then place it anywhere, as if it can be moved.

He 'retracted' the door placed at the entrance of the stairs, went downstairs, and returned to the main hall.

He then placed the door at the entrance of his bedroom, aligning it with the actual bedroom door, and walked in. It looked as if he walked through the bedroom door, but he didn't appear in the bedroom.

A few seconds later, he reappeared in this world as if he had walked out from the bedroom.

Since there is no one to consult, he has to think for himself. Currently, He Kao has only figured out one ability: he can disappear in one place and then reappear in the same place.

However, he cannot travel elsewhere this way. Each time he disappears, he can only reappear at the original location. Retracting the door and opening it elsewhere only moves the door's position; he still can only come out from the door after entering.

He Kao misses Xiaopang from last night immensely. He really wants to know how Xiaopang manages to traverse space. But that damn fatso insisted on keeping some suspense, which is just too much!

Returning to his bedroom, He Kao lay down again, but he was unable to sleep.

In recent days, he had gotten used to resting after sitting meditation and cultivation, able to sleep very sweetly, but today he just couldn't fall asleep. It seems that the way he and Huang Xiaopang opened the Hidden Moth Space is different. Who exactly is doing it wrong?

It seemed like he was wrong, or perhaps his 'cultivation' wasn't sufficient. Because the Invisibility Ability he has acquired is far from as magical as what Huang Xiaopang has demonstrated, maybe he needs more time.

It is said that Director Huang became a true Hidden Moth in half a year, but Huang Xiaopang only took a month and considers himself a prodigy. Yet, He Kao took only one day, or rather succeeded on his first attempt, how do you explain that?

Lying in bed, He Kao recalled what he experienced after passing through the door, but it felt as if he hadn't experienced anything! Experiences are traces and memories; he should have memories, but these have no content.

Unable to sleep, He Kao got up again, aligning the door with the bedroom entrance but opened it inward, hopping between existence and void repeatedly.

That night, He Kao's bedroom was haunted, and the ghost was himself, continuously disappearing and then flickering at the entrance... After a while, he willingly stopped the strange behavior.

He could feel that something was being consumed within him, though it's hard to describe exactly what it was—energy, mana, or more accurately, the divine qi granted by Secret Technique cultivation? It's equivalent to a normal person's vitality and stamina.

Vitality and stamina are tangible, and any action results in consumption, but as long as it's within limits, there's no harm.

However, the consumption of Invisibility Ability for an ordinary person is intense and seems to unconsciously exceed some limit...

He Kao can feel this limit; the divine qi he consumed originated from the cultivation at Hidden Moth Temple. It was only until today, at this very moment, that he got a clear comprehension... Could this be the foundation for sorcerers to use techniques?

He Kao had exhausted the divine qi, and if he continued, it might cause fundamental harm... This indicates that he is no longer an ordinary person, and has he reached entry-level in cultivating techniques?

But what kind of technique is this? All he did was search, filter, and organize a set of so-called 'Observation Secret Manual' from the vast sea of online information using a smart program.

Could the difference between him and Xiaopang be due to this reason? Finally calming down, He Kao sat in the dark and began to think.

Xiaopang's discovery and entry into the portal, becoming a Hidden Moth, was a spontaneous process. He didn't go through this process; instead, he entered directly through his cultivated Observation Method, a complete act of self-awareness.

He thought of another question. Since his cultivation proved effective, perhaps his recent experience was the correct way to access the identity of Hidden Moth?

Otherwise, the use of Invisibility Ability consuming life doesn't make sense.

So what does entering that portal mean for him, especially regarding his cultivation? Like a flash of lightning in the dark, He Kao suddenly had an epiphany.

Is this not the ideal state for him to cultivate the Hidden Moth Temple?

Cultivating in the real world, with the so-called 'body gradually becoming void, self-existence seemingly disappearing', is only a visualization, a pure consciousness state.

But no matter what kind of visualization, in others' observation, in normal self-awareness, the self is still objectively present. Therefore, truly entering the realm in Hidden Moth visualization is very challenging, let alone reaching a deeper realm.

However, the experience of entering through the Observation Method, the state described by the Secret Technique Formulas, is the norm behind that door!

In the future, he should cultivate Secret Techniques not in the real world but by entering that portal. Perhaps when he advances to a higher realm in cultivation, he will discover more.

Unfortunately, today is not suitable for another attempt, so it's best to rest for now.
