Urban Carefree Warrior God

Chapter 62: Wolf-man Great War

Back at the villa, inside the hall, Luo Sulan was accompanied by another girl. She looked to be about twenty, dressed in cartoon pajamas with her hair in a ponytail. She bore a resemblance to Qin Qiu and exuded a lively, clever aura.

As soon as Qin Qiu reached the entrance, her eyes lit up. She rushed over, grabbing the girl's hand and exclaiming, "Xiaomo! You can get out of bed now?"

"I could have gotten out of bed a long time ago, but Mom kept making me lie there!" the girl pouted, though her excitement was unmistakable.

This was Qin Qiu's sister, Qin Mo. After the car accident, she had been confined to her bed for a full six months. If it weren't for Jin Zongquan's treatment, she had no idea how much longer she would have been stuck there. For her, this was undoubtedly a new lease on life.

"Xiaomo, congratulations!" Chen Yang called out.

Qin Mo's expression darkened. She said coldly, "Why is a good-for-nothing like you still in my house? Are you really planning to leech off my family for the rest of your life?"

"Where else would I be?" Chen Yang said with a smile. "Besides, I'm an employee in the sales department at Qin Corporation now. That's hardly leeching!"

"Oh, feeling proud of yourself? Let me ask you this: if it weren't for my sister, could a worthless person like you have gotten into Qin Corporation? You need your wife's help just to get a job. Is there anyone more pathetic than you?"

Qin Mo hugged her knees to her chest, staring at Chen Yang with utter disdain. She had always admired her sister's talent and beauty, so she had naturally hoped her brother-in-law would be an accomplished and handsome young elite. Instead, they got stuck with an utterly useless man. While feeling indignant on her sister's behalf, her loathing for Chen Yang had reached its peak. As she used to say, the Qin family must have had eight lifetimes of bad luck to end up in a situation like this.

Xiang Yang, who had entered last, flashed a warm smile and said with the air of a gentleman, "Miss Mo, my aunt has told me so much about you. Now that I've met you, I see your talent and beauty truly rival Xiaoqiu's!"

"Really?" Qin Mo laughed. "You must be Xiang Yang."

"That's him!" Luo Sulan shot a cold glance at Chen Yang before affectionately taking Xiang Yang's hand. "This young man just graduated from Fania University. His family is in the textile business, with total assets over a billion, right?"

"That's my father's achievement; it has nothing to do with me!" Xiang Yang waved his hand modestly. "A young man ultimately has to rely on himself!"

"See? Now this is how a young man should be!" Luo Sulan beamed, her satisfaction with Xiang Yang growing by the second.

Qin Mo leaned over and whispered to Qin Qiu, "Sis! Now *this* is a true elite! Only someone like him is worthy of you!"

Qin Qiu remained silent.

At that moment, a series of urgent honks sounded from outside the villa. Qin Mo, who had been about to say more, brightened up and ran outside. "I'm going out with my friends! I'll be back late!"

She climbed into a BMW SUV parked at the entrance and asked excitedly, "Did you guys really get passes for the black market Unrestricted Fighting?"

"Of course we did!" a crew-cut young man in the passenger seat thumped his chest. "I'm taking you to see a man-versus-beast fight today!"

A chorus of cheers erupted inside the vehicle.

「At eight o'clock in the evening.」

Chen Yang drove to the Red Romance Club, where Zhao Yinghu's most trusted subordinate, Sun Qian, was already waiting at the entrance.

Upon seeing Chen Yang, Sun Qian hurried over and greeted him respectfully, "Lord Chen, Lord Hu sent me to receive you! Please follow me!"

Chen Yang nodded and followed him into the club.

They passed through the grand hall and down a long corridor, entering what appeared to be a storeroom. Just as Chen Yang frowned, about to ask a question, Sun Qian pushed open a large cabinet, revealing a hidden elevator.

Chen Yang was astonished. He had been wondering how a black market for unrestricted fighting could operate so brazenly in this crowded club. It turned out there was more to it than met the eye. This must be the art of hiding in plain sight.

The elevator descended two floors before arriving at the black market fighting arena.

The space, spanning thousands of square meters, was packed with a roaring crowd. In the center stood a solid steel ring enclosed by a cage. Inside, a bare-chested man was facing off against three lone wolves. The scene was absolutely captivating.

"Those are Icefield Wolves, notorious for their ferocity and boldness. When they lock onto prey, there are only two outcomes: either the prey dies, or they die!"

"Charlie is strong, but I don't think he can handle three Icefield Wolves!"

"I've bet my entire fortune on those three wolves!"

Amidst the heated arguments, many people had bloodshot eyes, hoping to win big on this fight to either recoup their previous losses or strike it rich.

Taking advantage of the moment before the fight began, Sun Qian explained, "Lord Chen, this is the largest unrestricted fighting arena in Lingjin City, and it's under Lord Hu's jurisdiction. Although many are envious of the profits here, no one has ever dared to challenge Lord Hu!"

He added, "Here, as long as no weapons are involved, any moves or tactics are allowed."

Chen Yang glanced at the three wolves, whose eyes had already turned blood-red, and remarked calmly, "People must die here often."

"Naturally," Sun Qian nodded. "However, everyone signs a life-and-death waiver beforehand, so there's usually no significant trouble."

Chen Yang said no more, his eyes continuing to scan the scene.

"Lord Chen, Lord Hu is on the second floor. This way, please!"

Just as Chen Yang started following Sun Qian toward the second floor, Qin Mo, who was discussing bets with her friends, suddenly froze. "What's that good-for-nothing doing here?"

"Hey, isn't that your useless brother-in-law?" a nearby girl with her hair in a bun, Fan Xiaoxian, also noticed Chen Yang and exclaimed in surprise.

Qin Mo curled her lip in disgust. "He is *not* my brother-in-law! And he's not worthy of being my brother-in-law!"

"How would a good-for-nothing like him get into a place like this?" Fan Xiaoxian asked, puzzled.

Qin Mo was also confused. She knew that entry into the arena required an introduction from an insider, followed by an extremely strict identity check. If the crew-cut youth hadn't pulled some strings to find one of Lord Hu's capable subordinates, there was no way they could have gotten in.

"He's just a loser who married into the Qin family to leech off them, what's so interesting about him?" the crew-cut youth, Li Hongming, sneered. "Come on, hurry up! Are we betting on Charlie or the Icefield Wolves?"

Qin Mo looked away, deciding not to give him any more thought. She figured she would just ask her sister about it when she got home.

After discussing it with her friend Fan Xiaoxian, Qin Mo declared confidently, "I'm betting on the Icefield Wolves! I refuse to believe one man can defeat three starving Icefield Wolves!"

"Alright! We'll listen to you, Mo!" Li Hongming decided, his gaze on Qin Mo filled with a strong sense of possessiveness.
