Dylan immediately held Ellie, Lena, Maya, and Amy close, then brought his face between them.
"Listen to me. The second the smoke appears, all four of you immediately drop to the floor and don't move. Do you understand?" Dylan whispered.
Ellie, Lena, Maya, and Amy did not answer, but they nodded in response. Dylan kissed each of their foreheads. Then "boom... boom... boom," "swoooooosh," the entire gymnasium was instantly filled with smoke. The armed terrorists were startled. They immediately pointed their weapons in every direction because their vision was blocked by the thick smoke.
"W-what's going on?" a terrorist asked.
Suddenly, he was shocked because his rifle was gone, but before he could even register his surprise, "buaaak," he was suddenly thrown back against the wall.
"Shoot... shoot!"
"Brataat... brataat... brataat," the terrorists began shooting blindly everywhere, even aiming their rifles at the people lying prone on the floor. After a moment,
"Stop shooting!" yelled the terrorist leader.
All firing ceased. The terrorists, about 10 of them, remained wary. "Bwuuung," through the smoke, one of them saw a hologram dome protecting each individual, extending to everyone on the podium.
"Huh... w-what is that?" a confused terrorist asked.
"Sreet," suddenly his rifle came loose and "buaak," he was instantly thrown back again. Then "trek... trek... trek," the carbine rifles of the terrorists vanished from their hands simultaneously, leaving them utterly bewildered. When they reached for the pistols on their waists or in their chest holsters, the pistols were already gone. While confused and unable to move due to the thick smoke, "buaaak... buk... aaaargh," one by one, they immediately collapsed to the floor, motionless.
"Hey... what happened... hey!" yelled the terrorist leader on the podium, as he heard the sound of his men falling but couldn't see anything through the dense smoke.
He immediately grabbed the handheld radio on his shoulder and ordered his remaining troops to enter, unaware that the invisible Dylan was already standing right behind him. "Tap," suddenly the radio in his hand vanished. "Hah!" "Brataat... brataat... brataat," the leader spun around and immediately fired his carbine until his bullets were spent. "Tap," his shoulder was tapped from behind. He turned, and "buaaaaak," a fist landed on his face, sending him flying and crashing to the floor.
The leader tried to get up but couldn't because his stomach was being stepped on, even though he couldn't see who was stepping on him. Not long after, "uiiiing... uiiing," many police car sirens were heard entering the school. "Duk," Dylan immediately knocked the leader unconscious, then turned to look outside. Gunshots could be heard from outside. He used his area search skill again and saw that there were still about 10 more people scattered around the school, even on the roof.
Without hesitation, Dylan immediately ran down and teleported to the exit. Then he used his smoke bomb multiple times, covering the entire school in thick smoke. After that, he went to the roof and silenced a terrorist who was using a sniper rifle to shoot at the police. Then he went back down to the field to deal with the terrorists who were shooting at the newly arrived police cars from within the cloud of smoke. "Buk... buak," the terrorists fell one by one. The area immediately fell silent as all shooting stopped. The police and SWAT members advanced through the smoke.
"Trak," a police officer looked down because his foot kicked something. He squinted and knelt down, then was shocked to see a pile of rifles, pistols, and knives in front of him. The smoke started to clear from outside. The officer's eyes widened when he saw many bodies lying unconscious on the field. Meanwhile, Dylan returned to the gymnasium using teleport and immediately dropped to the floor in his spot with Ellie, Lena, Maya, and Amy. As soon as they saw Dylan appear, the four girls immediately crawled and hugged him.
"CATS, get rid of the smoke," Dylan said in his head.
[Understood.]
"Swooooosh," suddenly the smoke swirled and gathered in the center like a mini tornado and "plop," it then turned into a rain of cards with the Phantom Cat emblem, like a magic trick. Everyone in the gymnasium was shocked to see the terrorists already lying on the floor, in addition to the rain of cards featuring a smiling cat head. Dylan turned to see Karl, Mark, Layla, and Hans, who were confused and seemed disbelieving of what had just happened. Paul immediately stood up and ran toward the podium. He climbed up and checked the terrorist leader who was sprawled on the stage.
Ellie, Maya, and Lena picked up one of the cards. Their eyes widened, and they immediately turned to look at Dylan, who put his index finger to his lips, telling the three to be quiet, and winked with a smile. Ellie's, Maya's, Lena's, and Amy's faces immediately brightened, because aside from Amy, they had already suspected Dylan was Phantom Cat, they just didn't have the proof. Soon after, the SWAT team and police entered, followed by several medical teams entering the gymnasium.
Dylan glanced to see Karl, Mike, Carla, Layla, Mark, Viola, and Hans stand up, then walk out with the other parents as they were evacuated by the police to leave the gymnasium. After that, the junior students were also evacuated, followed by the newly graduated seniors along with the teachers from the podium. Dylan turned to look at the podium as he walked. He saw the medical personnel helping the teacher who had been shot on the stage.
"Hey CATS, how's Mr. Victor doing?" Dylan asked, recognizing the shot teacher.
[My deepest apologies, master. He could not be saved.]
"Oh... okay... my condolences then," Dylan replied, bowing his head.
"We have to go to the hospital, I want to see Grandma," Lena said, crying.
"Be strong, Lena," Ellie said, hugging Lena.
"We're going there now, immediately," Maya added.
"Come on, babe, let's go," Amy urged.
"Yeah, let's go," Dylan replied.
After leaving, Dylan drove Lena, Ellie, Amy, and Maya to the hospital in their car to see Lena's grandmother, who had died from falling at home. Meanwhile, in the parking lot, Karl got into his car with Hans.
"Hmm... what just happened? Did you see?" Karl asked.
"No, it happened too fast, but at least we know who our enemy is now," Hans replied.
Hans pulled a card out of his jacket pocket. He looked at the card with the Phantom Cat emblem in his hand. "Kresssk," he crumpled the card and threw it out the window.
"Relax, Hans, we'll make a new plan to catch the person who messed up our plan today," Karl replied.
"Relax, you say? My people were arrested by the police. Even if they won't talk because they'll definitely end their own lives, they're still my people," Hans replied.
"Yes, I know. Let's get out of here. Layla, Mark, and Viola have already left," Karl replied.
"Hah... so Mark finally acted and finished off the old woman," Hans muttered, leaning back and looking ahead.
"Well... at least one good thing happened today... we're leaving," Karl replied.
Karl started his car, and they drove out of the school parking lot, passing the police who were still evacuating the students and all the staff inside.
