After he finished recovering his mana, Modret and Axel followed the back door of the inn to depart for the black market once more.
On the way there, they didn't encounter anyone suspicious. Noticing this, Modret relaxed slightly, and they finally reached the spatial tree before entering.
Since they recalled the location of the purple house from before, they didn't need any guide this time.
Modret and Axel passed the bustling street filled with life and gradually approached the purple house.
Along the way, they were approached by a few people — guides included — and some who saw them as rich men and wanted to "obtain" something from them.
Of course, Modret just left Axel to swiftly eliminate these groups of people, and after two were eliminated, they were no longer targeted again.
Modret guessed it was most likely because of the guide from before that they weren't bothered like last time.
'It seems the guards have some measure of protection on them…' he mused internally, a faint smile tugging gently at his lips.
Both men turned a corner, and Modret finally caught sight of the familiar building.
He straightened his clothes subconsciously, but his hand froze when he realized what he was doing.
He glanced at Axel, who was trying to stifle his laugh from the corner of his eyes, then brought his hand down and coughed awkwardly.
Both men continued on their way after the minor episode. However, just as they were reaching the place, Modret heard a few loud shouts that caused him to quicken his pace, his heart racing slightly.
He didn't care what Axel thought as he increased his pace and finally reached the purple house, swinging the door open.
Just a few steps ahead stood four muscular men behind a slender middle-aged man. His expression was filled with anger as he glared at the blind lady.
On her face, Modret saw a calm, unfazed smile, even as she gazed at him as though she had already predicted the whole situation.
'That damn ability,' Modret clicked his tongue internally, but since he was already here, he didn't bother to retreat.
He glanced at the slender middle-aged man, then approached him.
"What the fuck is going on here?"
The slender middle-aged man turned his glare toward Modret, staring at him intently. For a few seconds, both men's gazes remained locked on each other.
Then, the slender man snorted and turned to the four goons behind him.
"Who let trash like this enter this place?"
The four men understood what the slender man meant, and without hesitation, a fierce look appeared on their faces as they shifted their attention to Modret.
"Bastard!" they cursed as they approached him.
Modret raised a casual glance to meet them, then lifted his palm, and a rotating black flower appeared within it.
The flower radiated an intense heat that caused the group to subconsciously take a step back in fear, their expressions paling.
Modret blinked at their reaction, then sneered and threw the black fire lotus in their direction.
Swoosh!
The fire engulfed all four men instantly, and before they could let out guttural screams, their bodies turned to ashes. After all, these men weren't even at the Galaxy Realm but merely at the Cosmos Realm.
Modret controlled the flame so it wouldn't destroy the building, and when he was done eliminating the four men, he waved his hand and extinguished the fire.
He shifted his gaze to the trembling slender man on the floor, who stared at Modret in horror.
"Don't kill him."
Suddenly, the gentle voice of the blind girl halted Modret's movements.
He frowned briefly, then ultimately extinguished the flaming lotus that had begun forming in his hand.
"Why shouldn't I kill him?"
"It's not worth the trouble…" she remarked casually.
Modret understood the hidden meaning in her words, then let out a breath and turned to the slender man.
"Get out."
The man's eyes widened briefly before he stumbled and staggered out of the purple building.
Just as he was about to reach the door, a black mass engulfed him, turning him to ashes.
Modret turned back to the blind girl with a laid-back smile. "You can't tell me what and what not to do…"
"Still as stubborn and ruthless as ever," the blind girl commented, a faint smile on her lips.
Modret studied her and noticed her blindfold had been changed. This time, it was a purple one wrapped around her eyes.
It blended perfectly with her light purple robes adorned with blue flowery patterns. Her faint smile wasn't hidden in the slightest despite the blindfold, and Modret couldn't help but stare a little longer than necessary.
"You came here to ask about how much the proceedings of whatever you've done are, right?"
The blind girl didn't seem to mind his stare.
Casually, she walked toward a seat not too far away and sat down, maintaining her gaze on Modret.
Modret nodded nonchalantly, removing his intense gaze from the lady, seemingly uninterested in her anymore.
"You don't have to worry much about it. Whatever will happen won't be harmful to you… at least, I hope so."
Modret was stumped by her manner of speaking.
"So there are things even you don't know?"
The blind girl laughed.
"I'm not omnipotent, you know? That's by the way. I just don't want to make things easy for you…"
Modret furrowed his brows. "Aren't you supposed to be my 'wife'?"
The blind girl chuckled at his emphasis on "wife."
"Of course I am. But you won't have much growth if everything is so easy for you…"
Modret sighed, then turned around, no longer paying attention to the girl. It seemed their journey here was wasted.
"Axel, let's leave…"
"Yes, young master."
Meanwhile, the smile still played on the blind lady's lips, and when she saw Modret reach the door, she opened her mouth to speak.
"Come visit me some other time, Modret."
Modret let out a scoff, then shut the door behind him with a bang.
His mood was slightly sour; he felt he had been played by the blind lady. However, he didn't know why he couldn't get angry around her.
'Does she have an ability that can affect my emotions subconsciously, making me fall for her?' The thought briefly crossed his mind, but he ruled it out.
Unable to come to a conclusion on the matter, he could only let things play out as they were.
Suddenly, he felt a snapping sound internally, and his eyes widened.
'The connection to my shadow servants — the bandits — has been severed? How?'
