SSS Ranked Awakening: Starting With My Limitless Cosmic Shadow System

Chapter 0077: Evolution! SSS-Grade Null Fire!!!

[Congratulations. Null Fire has evolved into the SSS-grade: Absolute Null Fire.]

Effect 1:

A supreme flame that burns through every known material and defense. No resistance, barrier, or element can suppress it once it ignites. The more mana it's supplied, the hotter and more uncontrollable it becomes.

Effect 2:

When the flame spreads through a target, it directly overloads their nervous system, forcing the brain to experience the sensation of burning thousands of times faster than reality — destroying mental stability and focus.

Effect 3:

It no longer only drains mana — it extracts all forms of active energy from the target (mana, aura, life force), converting them into fuel to maintain the flame for longer durations.

Effect 4:

Targets that survive contact temporarily lose their resistance to heat and energy attacks. Their defensive threshold drops drastically for a set period, making follow-up attacks devastating.

Effect 5: [UNKNOWN]

[Condition locked. Requires activation through direct fusion with a natural elemental core.]

Modret was pleasantly surprised that the ability had upgraded; although he wanted it to be upgraded, there was still a vague feeling that he had been tricked.

Now, with a smile on his face, he read through the information of his newfound ability.

It seemed everything was upgraded to a higher grade and aside from that…

'The fourth effect has been unlocked and there's even a fifth effect!' Modret grinned and couldn't help pausing in his movements.

He stretched his palm and a pitch-black flame that seemed to devour the light around it appeared on his hand.

Axel had already noticed Modret's stiff movements, so seeing Modret suddenly stretch forth his hand, he was curious about what he was trying to do.

Then his eyes widened in shock, sensing the terrifying effect coming from the black flame in Modret's hand.

'How… how is the flame suddenly so deadly? Even staring at it I can feel a chill…' Axel was startled and subconsciously took a step back.

Modret glanced at Axel with a grin then waved his hand, extinguishing the flame.

"Let's continue on our way to the inn…" casually strolling past the stunned Axel, Modret continued on his way.

The two continued on their way and finally reached the inn.

Settling inside the room, Modret and Axel began discussing their plans.

After a long, casual planning session, Modret finally communicated with the shadow servant.

"I want you to get me information on all the members of the Axarel family and their location."

After giving the order Modret heard a reply, then he shifted his attention back to Axel with a calm, unfazed smile.

"Now, we wait for his reply…"

Axel nodded before returning back to his room.

A week passed in this manner with the shadow servant gathering the required information, recording all the movements of the Axarel family members.

During this time Modret and Axel remained in the inn, and with Celine's help — despite the many times that the Axarel family had come to search the inn — they hadn't found anything.

Although they could tell there was something suspicious, they couldn't place a hand on it, and since they were unable to find Modret they could only focus their attention elsewhere.

Modret hadn't made any move during this time, even when they came to the inn. The reason was because he could still recall what the blind girl had said.

'Tsk!' Modret clicked his tongue internally, 'that little b*tch! Like hell I'd believe her. Unfortunately I have no choice…'

Modret was slightly annoyed at the blind lady, anticipating the next time they would meet her. When he did, most likely, he would teach her a lesson.

'What if she foresees this situation too?' Modret felt a headache internally, rolling to the other side of the bed. He had never dealt with anyone like her.

'She is an unstable variable, I have to eliminate her before she endangers my life…' Modret decided internally, coming up with ways to achieve his goal.

At that moment Modret finally received the information he had been waiting for from the shadow servant.

"Finally!" Modret exclaimed internally as the words entered into his mind.

"Master, we have tracked the location of only 9 members of the Axarel family and these are their locations…"

Modret listened to the information on the location of the Axarel family members, but then frowned.

'Didn't the blind lady say there are 10 on the outside but 5 hidden? Then why are there only 9 available? I can get the missing 5 but the remaining one…'

Modret's thoughts trailed off and he felt a slight urge to smack himself for his minor error.

How could he forget he had killed one of them previously?

'I can at least confirm that her abilities have been accurate so far. Nine it is.' Modret agreed, then called for Axel after disconnecting himself with the member of the Axarel who was in the forest killing beasts to increase his strength.

The youth arrived a few hours later, emitting a foul stench of blood.

"I've received the information and we can move to eliminate them." Modret passed the locations of the men to Axel.

He glanced through it then back at Modret. "We will deal with them swiftly within a few minutes so there will be no errors with the plan, and… young master, be cautious of the mysterious person hiding in the shadows…"

Modret nodded, "You don't have to worry much about me. You should take care of yourself too. Use the least amount of time to kill them so before they realize anything is wrong we've already completely eliminated them."

Axel nodded then stood up and vanished like a phantom.

Modret stood up and stretched lightly then he too vanished from sight.

The first location was near a construction well. This was a place that the members believed Modret most likely took to escape.

And Modret was swiftly heading in their direction at lightning speed.

The journey there took a short time since the construction place wasn't too far from the inn.

Upon reaching there Modret's gaze scanned the surroundings; aside from a few construction workers who were weak awakeners, he didn't sense anyone remarkable.

He suppressed his aura then entered the construction site, and began scanning the crowd for his target.

'Let the hunt begin…' Modret thought with a faint smile, determined to cleanly eliminate them.
