"General Luo, it's not actually that complicated," Wu Tianhua explained. "Martial Artists have five major realms. From lowest to highest, they are Body Refinement, Embrace Qi, Meridian Channeling, Vajra, and Grandmaster. Each major realm is also divided into four stages: early, mid, late, and Great Perfection."
Luo Xiu asked Wu Tianhua, "Is Grandmaster the limit?"
Wu Tianhua nodded. "As far as I know, Grandmaster is the limit."
"However, I've heard from the older generation that if someone can take another step forward after reaching Grandmaster Great Perfection and break through that limit, they can enter a completely new realm and open the door to a new world."
"But that's all the stuff of legends. There's no one in Sea City who has surpassed Grandmaster Great Perfection."
"And of the four Grandmasters in our Sea City, all of them are currently in the late stage. Not a single one has reached Great Perfection."
"Heh, General Luo, that's about all I know," Wu Tianhua chuckled.
Luo Xiu nodded and asked, "So, what realm are you and Feng Zi in now?"
Wu Tianhua scratched his head, looking embarrassed. "I'm ashamed to say, I'm at Body Refinement Completion, while Feng Zi is at the late stage of Body Refinement. We're both still in the Body Refinement Phase."
Perhaps wanting to salvage some pride, he quickly added, "But General Luo, there are fewer and fewer Martial Artists these days. Honestly, someone in the late Body Refinement Phase can already do pretty much whatever they want in Sea City."
"Some people train their entire lives until they're seventy or eighty, and they're still only in the Body Refinement Phase."
Luo Xiu smiled and said no more.
In fact, he wasn't very interested in these matters concerning Martial Artists. He didn't want to figure out what realm he was in, nor did he want to know how strong he really was. Since he wasn't going to live much longer, what was the point? For now, living each day to the fullest was what truly mattered.
「Not long after.」
Wu Tianhua drove Luo Xiu to a bar and then took Ling Feng to the hospital.
While they were driving, Luo Xiu and Su Shenyun had already arranged to meet at this bar.
Luo Xiu pushed open the door and walked in, greeted by the sound of a beautiful singing voice.
The bar was empty and dimly lit, yet the lights were splendidly dazzling.
Su Shenyun stood on stage in a white dress, holding a microphone and singing.
Her voice was tender and captivating, as if kissed by an angel. Paired with her white gauze dress, she exuded an ethereal, otherworldly charm.
"You're here?"
Su Shenyun put down the microphone and walked over to Luo Xiu.
As he breathed in her unique fragrance, Luo Xiu's thoughts were thrown into chaos before scattering like smoke, leaving his mind a complete blank.
He scooped her into his arms, carried her to a nearby table, and began his "rough" treatment.
It wasn't until two or three in the morning that Su Shenyun finally begged for mercy.
"Join me for a drink?"
Su Shenyun tossed a tissue she had just used to wipe something away, shooting Luo Xiu a resentful glare before pulling her gauze dress back down from her waist.
Luo Xiu reached out to smooth her messy, fragrant hair and smiled. "I am a bit thirsty."
After finishing his drink, Luo Xiu looked at Su Shenyun sitting across from him. "You seem a little different today. Is something on your mind?"
Su Shenyun smiled. "I have to leave Sea City for a while to handle some business. I suddenly feel very reluctant to leave you."
Luo Xiu smiled. "It's not like you won't be back."
Su Shenyun gave a small, tight-lipped smile. She looked as if she wanted to say something, but she swallowed the words.
Gazing at her stunning face, Luo Xiu said seriously, "You must have some kind of special identity, and leaving Sea City is probably for a mission... But I don't care about any of that. Just be safe and come back soon."
"And I'll keep the promise I made you. I'll stay by Boss Huang's side and earn his trust. As for what to do next, you can tell me when you get back."
Su Shenyun reached out and pinched Luo Xiu's cheek. "I know. Thanks, babe."
"When do you leave?" Luo Xiu asked.
"Right after I drop you home, I have to go to the airport."
Luo Xiu nodded. "Alright. Be safe. Contact me if you need me."
"Luo Xiu."
"Hmm?"
Su Shenyun gazed at him, her eyes full of affection. "I wish I'd met you sooner."
Luo Xiu smiled. "It's not too late now."
「The next day.」
When Luo Xiu woke up in his own bed, the first thing he did was grab his phone. He saw a message from Su Shenyun.
She had already left Sea City.
Luo Xiu stretched lazily, set down his phone, and rolled out of bed. He pulled back the curtains, letting the morning sunlight wash over him as he welcomed the new day.
By then, Sun Li and Su Shanyue were already training in the yard, drenched in sweat and working diligently.
It seemed they had gotten used to the routine and were very self-disciplined. Luo Xiu no longer needed to supervise them.
As for Xu Qianqing, she had made breakfast early in the morning before heading to work.
She was now working at Sun Li's company, apparently as a manager with a good salary, and she only had to work four hours a day.
After breakfast, Luo Xiu greeted Sun Li and Su Shanyue and left the house.
After days of training, Su Shanyue's constitution had become strong enough. Luo Xiu decided he would begin applying the Seal within the next few days.
Therefore, he needed to get some medicinal herbs from Wan Yao Hall today.
「Wan Yao Hall.」
The manager, Zhou Hai, approached Luo Xiu with a broad smile.
"Mister Luo, what do you need this time?"
Luo Xiu handed him a list he had already prepared.
"The herbs on this list. Please prepare two portions for me."
"Of course. Please wait a moment."
A moment later, Zhou Hai returned with an apologetic look. "Sorry, Mister Luo, it seems we don't have the Golden Iris Orchid you asked for."
He really couldn't understand why Luo Xiu always asked for such rare and valuable medicinal herbs. Forget the others; he had never even seen a Golden Iris Orchid before, only read about it in medical texts.
Luo Xiu sighed softly, feeling a pang of frustration.
The Golden Iris Orchid was something you could pick casually on Ghost Valley Mountain, yet there wasn't a single trace of it in this sprawling metropolis. If he had known, he would have gathered more herbs and stored them in his Jade Pendant before he left the mountain. It was impossible for him to go all the way back to Ghost Valley Mountain just to pick herbs now. He'd spent over twenty years there and was thoroughly sick of it! Besides, it was incredibly far.
"Young man, the Golden Iris Orchid is one of those rare treasures that can only be stumbled upon by chance, not sought out. This old one is quite curious what sort of medicine requires such an ingredient," an aged voice suddenly said from behind Luo Xiu.
Luo Xiu turned to see an old man with a full head of white hair standing there.
The old man had a long beard and was so rail-thin it looked as if a gust of wind could knock him over.
A handsome young man stood beside the elder, supporting him.
Luo Xiu looked at the young man and found him somewhat familiar. Thinking carefully, he remembered where he had seen him before.
He was Du Gang, the young man with the Bentley whom Luo Xiu had encountered at the gate of Sea City Riviera on the night he took Xu Qianqing home and ran into Lin Xiyue.
Du Gang, however, didn't recognize Luo Xiu, as he hadn't paid him any mind that night.
Du Gang completely ignored Luo Xiu and said respectfully to the old man, "Teacher, you just arrived in Sea City and haven't even had a chance to rest. Let's go back and rest first. We still have to go help my friend with a medical problem tomorrow."
The old man, however, waved his hand and smiled. "I just haven't seen Brother Li in a long time. Now that I've finally made it to Sea City, I absolutely have to find him for a few drinks."
Then he looked back at Luo Xiu with a kindly expression. "Young man, what medicine are you trying to have filled? Would you mind letting this old one take a look at your prescription?"
In truth, he wasn't interested in Luo Xiu's prescription. He was simply extremely curious about what kind of medicine would require a rare treasure like the Golden Iris Orchid.
Luo Xiu just smiled and shook his head in refusal. "I'm sorry, old sir."
The old man waved his hand dismissively. "No matter, no matter. It was rude of me to ask."
This, however, displeased Du Gang. A trace of disdain appeared in his eyes as he looked at Luo Xiu. "Do you have any idea who you're speaking to?"
"I'm not exaggerating. The fact that my Teacher wants to see your prescription is a blessing you should be grateful for."
"Hah. You really think your prescription is some great treasure? Afraid someone will steal a look?"
"My Teacher is merely curious. Who knows? He might even offer you some guidance after seeing it, perhaps help you complete the prescription. It would be a great opportunity for you!"
