Chapter 69: The Popular Quack Ending

Chang Long and her friends regrouped at the forest edge, away from the city entrance, as they wanted to avoid entering the city for the time being. Once Kitsune had reunited Kimhant and Hulu with the group, they began their breakfast, using the Cone of Abundance again. In such a celebratory time, no one wanted canned food.

"I don't understand why your voice is still like that, even though the Dark Witch is dead!"

Draco said, scrutinizing Prince Duck.

"This must be what they call 'unfinished handsome',"

Oliang laughed.

"Unfinished handsome? What does that mean?/quack?"

Prince Duck and Princess Anna asked in unison.

"It means you look perfect, but your voice ruins your handsomeness,"

Wet Trash Can explained as Oliang took a drink.

"How can I face my people in Ark City like this, quack? They'll laugh at me quack!"

Prince Duck said despondently.

"No one will laugh at you, Your Highness. You're a good person with a kind heart, which more than makes up for a small thing like that. I believe the people will be overjoyed that you've returned safely. Also, your friends said it might be a lingering side effect of the curse. I'm sure you'll be back to normal soon,"

Princess Anna consoled him sweetly for the first time, giving him a warm smile.

Everyone looked at Princess Anna, including Prince Duck. She was indeed a woman beautiful inside and out, her kindness shining through. They all felt happy for Prince Duck.

"And you, quack, do you think less of me, quack?"

Prince Duck asked her softly, but with hopeful eyes.

"...No, I've never thought less of you, Your Highness,"

Princess Anna replied in a barely audible voice, her face turning red with embarrassment as she avoided his gaze. The two shyly looked at and then looked away from each other, causing the single members of the group to feel envious.

"Right, how will you and Princess Anna get back to Europa Island?"

Peach Blossom interrupted the romantic moment, preventing the single members from feeling even worse. She asked as she had never seen an AI boarding a ship, except those that were fisherman or system's ship's AI.

"Don't worry, quack. A ship from my city has been searching for me for a long time, quack. I just didn't show myself because I hadn't found Princess Anna yet. But now, there's no reason to hide anymore, quack,"

Prince Duck explained.

"Then let's hurry up and eat, so we can find them. They must be in a frenzy by now, with rumors about you and Princess Anna spreading all over the city,"

Chang Long could not help but urged.

"Hmm... you're right, quack!"

Prince Duck agreed, wanting to avoid further complications. They all enjoyed their meal quickly and then made their way back to the city.

After finishing breakfast, Chang Long's group set out on their journey. They took a detour around the forest and encountered many players energetically battling beasts in the open fields. As they stood watching the players hunt, something happened that left them all gaping in disbelief at what they saw and heard.

"This one's tough!"

One player exclaimed in frustration.

"A Rutting elephant Beast has the same strength as a berserk beast at the same level!"

Another player shouted back from a distance. The group was battered from repeated attacks by the Rutting Elephant Beast, but they could not deal any serious damage in return.

"We might have to use that special move!"

The first player suggested. The other four in their group agreed and spread out in a circle around the elephant. Chang Long's group watched with interest, curious to see what special move they would use against the Rutting Elephant Beast.

"Ready!"

The third player took a deep breath and asked his friends, who all nodded in readiness.

The Rutting Elephant Beast charged at the first player standing directly in front of it, intending to strike with its trunk. However, it stopped in its tracks, startled and confused by the loud shout from the five players surrounding it.

"Die... quackkkk!!"

The group shouted in unison. The enraged elephant halted, looking around in bewilderment. Seeing that their tactic worked, the players quickly launched a coordinated attack from all sides.

Shunk!

The weapons of all five players plunged into the elephant's body, sinking in up to their hilts. The elephant did not make a sound before collapsing to the ground, dead. The players cheered, having defeated one of the game's tougher beasts simply by shouting quack!

Other players who witnessed this initially laughed but were soon impressed by the results. They quickly mimicked the tactic, discovering they could also defeat beasts more easily by quacking loudly the rumor about quacking before finishing off beasts spread rapidly.

"Is this for real...?"

Draco exclaimed in shock. He was the one who had joked about boosting attack power by quacking before attacking beasts, not expecting anyone to actually use it seriously.

"Sigh! First it was the egg fashion, now it's the quack sound trend?"

Wet Trash Can joked.

"I can't believe that just quacking loudly can make defeating beasts so easy,"

Peach Blossom remarked, amazed. As a magic user, she was intrigued and wondered what would happen if she shouted quack while firing spells at the enemy.

"I don't think it's the quack sound itself that helped them defeat the best. It's probably the loud noise that startles the beasts, throwing off their attack timing. Plus, those players were already at a level close to the beasts, making it easy to take them down,"

Siegfried analyzed logically.

"This could be bad if people believe the rumor and try it against a beast king. They could end up getting killed!"

Oliang said, his tone grim.

"Well, it's their own fault for believing such rumors so easily. Let's head back to the city!"

Chang Long said, shrugging as she led the way. She was worried about not being able to store Hulu in her ring. She used to think Kitsune, with its three tails, was conspicuous, but now Hulu, with its shimmering white scales, was even more eye-catching. Bringing Hulu into the city would definitely cause a stir among the townspeople and players.

"Let's hope those players don't find out we started this rumor,"

Oliang said with a shiver, and the group followed Chang Long back to the city.

As they walked into the city, they were met with a grand celebration. There was a parade circling the town, and all shops had slashed prices by 10%, including some player-run stores. Music filled the air, and people were dancing in the streets. Surprisingly, almost everyone was ending their sentences with a quack.

"My goodness!"

Chang Long exclaimed in astonishment. The bustling celebration left little attention on Hulu, the pure-blooded sacred beast. She sighed in relief, but Hulu seemed a bit crestfallen, as it had once been revered like a deity. Now, no one paid any mind, making it feel like a forgotten relic.

"Should we join them?"

Wet Trash Can asked eagerly, with Draco and Oliang echoing his sentiment. Kimhant could not resist taking a few photos to document the celebration to use for his news scoop or for his travelling log with Chang Long.

"No! We need to get these two on the ship first, and I need to buy a sealing ring for Hulu,"

Chang Long said firmly, causing Wet Trash Can and the two other men to sulk.

"So, if we finish those tasks, can we join the celebration?"

Wet Trash Can asked hopefully.

"That's up to you, Can,"

Chang Long replied, then started walking ahead.

"Qu... quack. Is she your sister or your mother, quack?"

Prince Duck murmured fearfully, noticing how no one dared to challenge Chang Long.

"Not quite, but close enough…"

Wet Trash Can's reply made Princess Anna giggle.

"You guys are so slow. Do you really want to go home or not!"

Chang Long shouted when she saw no one was following her.

"Defying Chang Long is a surefire way to commit suicide,"

Draco muttered, recalling how he had once seen Chang Long so angry that a reaper had appeared.

"Let's go before we get into more trouble!"

Oliang urged, quickly following Chang Long.

The ship sent to search for Prince Duck and Princess Anna had already sailed from Suvarn City's harbor. Chang Long and her friends felt a twinge of loneliness now that the lively presence of Prince Duck was gone. After acquiring, they were comforted by knowing that they could claim their quest rewards at any time. The system would not delete the rewards, no matter how long it took, allowing them to stay on Aseana Island a bit longer.

"Now we can join the city celebration, right!"

Wet Trash Can asked excitedly.

"Sure, go ahead. I need to visit the pet shop first, and I'll join you later,"

Chang Long said as she walked away with Kitsune and Kimhant, who was carrying Hulu.

"I'm coming with you, Chang Long. My Firetail eats a lot, and I need to buy more snacks for him!"

Draco called out, running to catch up with her.

"I'll go too. Take care of Peach Blossom, Oliang, Wet Trash Can,"

Siegfried said, then followed Chang Long as well.

"Everyone's leaving. Well, let's enjoy the festival, Peach Blossom,"

Wet Trash Can said, turning to Peach Blossom, who was eyeing something with interest.

"I want to check out those bracelets, Oliang, Wet Trash Can!"

Peach Blossom said, running to a jewelry store offering a 10% discount, not noticing that her older brother had left her behind.

The pet supply store that Chang Long entered was also having a sale, drawing a crowd of players with their pets, making the store quite packed. Draco wandered off to check out the pet snack section, which had a large slogan that read,

"Snacks to keep your pets entertained!"

Chang Long made her way to the corner displaying jewelry for sealing pets. She was unsure which ring would be suitable to seal Hulu, as the ring used for Kitsune was not sufficient. Noticing her uncertainty, the store owner approached her personally.

"Hello, customer. Are you looking for pet sealing jewelry?"

The pet shop owner asked with a friendly smile.

"Yes. Can you tell me which type of jewelry would be suitable to seal this one?"

Chang Long asked, pointing to Hulu, who was playfully nibbling on Kimhant's ear.

"There are various types and levels of jewelry for sealing pets. Here's what to look for:

1.Jewelry with little to no decoration or small to medium-sized gemstones can seal regular beasts.

2.Jewelry with or without intricate designs with medium to large gemstones that glow slightly can seal beast kings.

3.Jewelry with no decoration or gemstones that glows like a gemstone itself can seal beasts that are very hard to tame in this game, known as beast gods or sacred beast,"

the shop owner explained in detail, though he did not initially think that Chang Long might own a sacred beast.

"Then why could a normal ring seal Kitsune, but Hulu requires a level three ring?"

Chang Long asked, puzzled.

The shop owner was taken aback by her question and looked more closely at Hulu. He was stunned when he realized that Hulu was a pure-blooded sacred beast. The pet shop owner stared at Hulu in awe for a long moment, and when he looked at Kitsune in his majestic form and three tails, his legs went weak.

"Hey, what's wrong, shopkeeper?!"

Chang Long hurriedly supported him, thinking that he fainted.

"Oh... It's a great day today. Follow me to the back room, and I'll explain,"

the shop owner said softly, leading Chang Long to the back of the store. Along the way, he instructed his staff not to let anyone disturb them.

Siegfried was selecting snacks for Firetail with Draco when he saw Chang Long following the shop owner through the back door. He quickly followed, ignoring Draco, who was still deciding which flavored bones to buy for Firetail.

"Hey, Sieg, where are you going? We haven't picked out Firetail's snacks yet!"

Draco called out, his arms full of various colorful pet snack packs, all intriguing. There were crispy insects, dried chicken breast, dry-aged steak, alligator meat, venison, rabbit legs, and seasoned fish. He wanted to buy them all for Firetail to try.

Siegfried's back disappeared through the back door without a second thought. Draco pouted, feeling abandoned. He focused on the pet snacks and thought for a moment before deciding to buy all kinds of snacks with all flavors. The store clerk provided him with a basket, happily and eagerly recommending even more items, pleased to see such a generous spender for him to milk!
