WEAPONS!
Swords, axes, spears, war hammers, katanas, rapiers, sabers, daggers, tomahawks, chain whips...
Every single weapon Everlearn could name covered the walls of the dojo, and his jaw dropped seeing the sharpness of the blades.
The sound of feet from behind him was what woke him up from his stance, as he continued to step in, only to have his shoulder held.
He turned and found a young man who pointed to a board at the side.
It read:
"No shoes allowed."
"Thank you," he said to the boy, who simply continued into the dojo after taking off his shoes.
Everlearn also did, and like the rest, he found a mat by the corner and took his seat, waiting.
Time rapidly passed, and soon enough it was 6:30 on the dot.
By this time, around 80% of the dojo was already filled.
Of course, none of the students wanted their point taken for being late, but then, the remaining 20% was still open.
Time passed, and quickly enough, thirty minutes went by.
About 95% of the dojo was already filled, and as soon as it was 7:00, the doors shut with a loud,
BAAAAANG!
The simple motion of the door shutting was so loud that the air blew chaotically around the room, silencing the unending murmurs.
STEP!
The sound of footsteps echoed out, and in the next moment, all heads jerked back to the front, including Everlearn's.
Eyes furrowed as the students noticed a new figure standing in front of the open space and facing all of them.
He was a tall man, about 2.5 meters in height, wearing a pitch-dark monk robe.
Broad shoulders, with thick veins that could even be seen from his exposed wrist, the ground the students sat on reverberated with every single step the man took forward.
His eyes were closed, both hands held together like in prayer, and a large, pitch-black bead with red dots hung around his neck.
"This… This is the weapon instructor!?"
"I don't know. He looks like one of those ancient monks."
"He looks quite powerful."
"He seems more of a brute fighter than a weapon master to me."
The murmurs erupted after, but it was quieted down when the man's palms slowly parted from each other before,
CLAAAAAAAP!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
A powerful clap followed by a blast of sonic shockwaves that made everyone instantly hold their ears in pain, and Everlearn himself was no exception.
The loud ringing sound echoed through his ear and straight into his soul, making him almost spasm in his seat.
'What the hell!?'
But just a few seconds later, it faded away completely, almost like all that had happened was an illusion.
He turned to look at the instructor, noticing his eyes were now wide open.
And bizarrely, they were white in color.
Fully white, with no blemish at all.
"Everyone, Rise," he said, his voice thick and releasing another shockwave.
The students didn't dilly-dally. Immediately, they jumped to their feet.
"Move to the wall and pick a weapon."
He ordered next, and they moved.
When Everlearn moved to a weapon rack closest to him, his eyebrows furrowed.
What weapon should he use?
He had never used a weapon all his life, nor had he ever fancied one.
Still, his hands moved towards a simple weapon on the rack.
It was a simple spear, with a sharp crimson edge.
It revolved easily around Everlearn's palms, and he gripped it tightly, finding it quite heavy but also very light.
It was just perfect.
Why did he choose the spear?
Because that was the weapon he crafted with his ability during his time in the jungle.
He had spent three weeks within that jungle and had used the spear throughout, so if there was a weapon he had to take from the rack, it would be something he was at least familiar with, and only the spear fulfilled the criteria.
But even though that was a common-sense thought, Everlearn was proven right:
Common sense is truly not common.
Many of the students went for weird weapons, those that Everlearn couldn't even name, nor had he ever seen used before, and he raised an eyebrow, knowing well that the weapon was strange even for the students who took them.
That was clear, as some of them were holding it in such a way that it was obvious that it wasn't even the right way of holding it.
[Idiots.]
The system notification panel flashed.
The process of taking weapons didn't last three minutes before everyone in the dojo held a weapon in their hands.
That was when the man slowly spread the two palms held together, dropping them by the side.
His hands were long, very long, almost reaching to his knees when dropped.
And all of a sudden, from the airspace of the robe,
CLAAAANG!
Something fell to the ground.
It was a chain so heavy that the vibration rang out beneath their feet.
From the man's other hand, a dagger appeared.
A really weird one in that it had two edges in the form of an "h," and in the next moment—
CLAAAAAANG!
The chain was locked into the edge of the dagger.
WHIIIIRRR!
WHHHIIIIR!
WHIIIIIIIR!
A whirring sound filled the air as the man twisted the chain, spinning the dagger with speed.
His thick voice boomed out in the next moment:
"Defend Yourselves."
"WHAT!?"
An outcry echoed through the dojo.
This was supposed to be a weapon class, where the man ought to introduce himself, and then he would introduce them to the various weapons or something.
Yet here they were, weapons in hand, with some never even having touched that particular weapon all their lives, and being asked to defend themselves.
How was this a class?
But quickly enough, the reality set in.
While they were in an uproar and still standing there,
VROOOOOOOOOOM!
The chained dagger cut through the air, sharp as a blade, heading right for a student who barely raised his sword in time for the attack.
When the dagger crashed into the sword, it flew off immediately, while the boy himself was roughly thrown away.
He slammed into a guy who was unlucky enough to be standing behind him, and both of them smashed into the wall and hung inside it, heads drooping low.
The students took a gasp of shock.
Both of the students had been knocked out!
"Defend Yourselves!"
The thick voice roared through the dojo in the next moment, and then,
BOOOOOOOOM!
The dojo shook heavily as the instructor took a single step forward, and then the chain dagger flashed forward with horrifying brute power towards the remaining students.
"Oh, Shit!"
