The Rise Of The No. 1 Hunter

Chapter 83: END OF FAIR

"What's going on? Who is this guy? How is he throwing punches with the rank S I had? This isn't fair," Itoshi muttered from behind the wall, watching the fight.

Raito and Hinata continued exchanging blows, fists colliding like thunder. Raito, however, kept moving backward slightly, studying his opponent. What is going on? I'm the one moving back… He's actually strong. Rank S, but still able to react to all my moves, no matter how fast I am, Raito thought.

He leapt, spinning through the air, and landed gracefully on his toes, both hands in his pockets. His gaze met Hinata's.

"Hinata, that was a good fight. No one has ever lasted this long against me. You may be a rank S, but you're not as strong as me. Not all ranks are equal, some are stronger than others. And I'm stronger than you," Raito said.

Hinata clenched his jaw. Raito didn't respond further. He considered his options. I could use flight or Shadow Phase to go invincible, but that wouldn't be fair. This is a real test. Time to try something unique.

Raito slowly drew his arm from his pocket. "Well, since this is getting boring, I'll add a technique," he said calmly.

"Ha! Technique? Useless. You're messing with the wrong person," Hinata retorted, his hand already hardening into solid rock. He raised himself into a combat stance, ready to strike.

System activates: Physical Enhancement – Administrator Strength – Full Speed, Raito thought, activating his skills. And now… Foreshadow.

A notification appeared: Foreshadow – 800 LP. Duration: 3 seconds.

"What? Only 3 seconds?" Hinata asked, confused.

"Doesn't matter. I have enough LP," Raito replied with a small smile. Full speed activated. Full physical strength activated.

Raito didn't need his dagger, his fists would do. Even with his reinforced arms, I can slice through them with sheer strength. But let's have some fun. Fist combat it is.

He bounced lightly, one leg at a time, then charged at Hinata. Hinata met him head-on, both raising their fists. When their punches collided, the impact sent a shockwave through the room. Tables, chairs, and even nearby guards were hurled across the hall. The floor trembled. Cracks appeared in the marble walls.

"How did you do this? You're getting stronger!" Hinata shouted, taken aback.

"Too bad. You're still weak. Still beneath me," Raito said, smiling.

Hinata scowled. "We'll see about that!"

Their punches kept flying. Raito moved backward again. He's keeping up with my speed… No wonder. It's Raito's case, he thought.

Hinata's hardened hand suddenly reshaped into a dark blade, swinging toward Raito to choke him. But Raito whispered, "Foreshadow…" and in an instant, moved behind Hinata.

Hinata's strike missed. "You're dead!" he growled. But Raito's fist landed squarely on his face as he turned to strike.

Boom. Hinata jumped back, stunned.

"What was that? That's not an ordinary skill. That's an S-rank rare ability! Who are you?" Hinata gasped.

Raito smirked. "Now why are you panicking? I thought you were full of yourself."

"Who's panicking? I'm not," Hinata said coolly, his eyes scanning Raito. "I'm just surprised. I didn't expect that, so it left me shocked. Now I know what you're capable of. But it won't work anymore."

Raito's expression stayed unreadable. "Well, same goes for you. I didn't know you were capable of that. But for me, you're a sword, a very popular hunter, known as one of the strongest when it comes to pure strength. You overwhelmed me when we traded punches. That was impressive. But I told you this: you're going to lose right here. You're going to be arrested for sure."

Hinata smirked. "Even if I were captured, the government wouldn't want this getting out. Civilians trust hunters. If they learn that a popular hunter like me or any high-profile hunter usually captured my fellow hunter for money, it will destroy that trust. Well, don't worry. After I kill you, I'll dissect your body."

Raito's face went dark. He said nothing. Hinata lunged.

Raito did not flinch. Two daggers appeared in his hands as Hinata's twin blades split the air. Hinata focused, blades flashing to pierce. For a heartbeat the hall held its breath.

Then the world multiplied.

Ten perfect afterimages erupted around Raito, shadow-clones, not illusions but actual Foreshadow copies. The system notification cut through the noise like a blade.

[Skill Activated] FORESHADOW ×10 LP -8,000

Duration: 3s.

The crowd could not follow the movement. Hinata's strike met shadow and flesh at once. He staggered back from the first blow he hadn't seen coming as one of the copies slammed into him. Raito used the opening. He closed the distance in a heartbeat, daggers flashing with holy-tainted light, and ripped through Hinata's forearm. Bone and armor sheared away in a spray of fragments.

Hinata's eyes widened. The arm began to knit, flesh crawling, bone reknitting, regeneration blooming like a nightmare. He laughed, half in rage, half in disbelief. "What are you? I can regenerate. You're—"

Raito didn't give Hinata time to finish the thought. The shadow-clones hammered Hinata from every angle, each strike a pulse of speed and force. Raito moved like a living shadow among shadows, each dagger stroke precise enough to sever tendons and shatter shields. When one copy vanished, it left a real wound; when it struck twice, Hinata's healing had to work twice as fast.

Around them the VIP hall dissolved into chaos. Crystal chandeliers trembled. Glass shattered. Men who had bought lives and bets paled as they watched a hunter they'd thought entertainment become the executioner.

When the afterimages finally dissipated, Raito stood in the ruined center, daggers back in hand, surveying Hinata, alive, regenerating, but clearly on the back foot. The of billionaires and hunters alike gawked, witnessing a power far beyond their expectations.
