Jaden's figure blurred as he used [Gust step] to attack the Aqua Lizard.

He appeared right below it and thrust the sword at its abdomen, the blade dug deep into its flesh and left a deep gash.

However, no blood poured out of it.

He raised an eyebrow and jumped back to dodge its leg, which was about to crush him.

"It's not wounded?" He mumbled in disbelief while staring at the wound that was regenerating itself.

'It is using water elementals to heal itself...' he concluded and stepped forward once again.

Frozen vapour followed his sword path as he slashed at the insides of the legs and tail of the aqua lizard.

Much to his surprise, the number of wounds didn't slow its regeneration speed even a bit.

"There has to be some way..." he mumbled.

He raised his palm and muttered, "Fireball."

The fire elementals moved, and a ball of dancing flames appeared on his palm.

He hurled the fireball at it, and to his pleasant surprise, for the first time, the aqua lizard dodged an attack.

Before this, it hadn't dodged any of his attacks, but it did now.

His lips curved up into a smirk as he mumbled, "Fire huh... how would you turn into a dragon like this?"

He used [Gust Step] and [Gale Steps] to appear beneath it, and before it could move, he mumbled, "Umbral Chains."

The nearby shadows wiggled and black chains shot out ot them towards the aqua lizard, binding it at the spot.

The lizard flickered its tongue and gazed around with its crimson eyes.

Jaden channelled mana into his sword and slashed vertically at its neck. Before it could touch, the lizard opened its mouth and its tongue shot out.

It moved like it had a life of its own and hit him right on the chest.

Thap...

"Ghuk?!"

The aqua lizard's tongue hit Jaden's chest like a speeding truck, all of the air was pushed out of his lungs, and he was sent flying through the trees like a cannonball.

He tried to breathe, but it proved to be difficult; his chest burned due to the searing pain, but he didn't lose his mind to it.

He turned [All-severing Moonlight (Replica)] into a spear and dug it into the ground to stop himself.

He took a few deep breaths as he looked at the aqua lizard and mumbled, "I am still not fast enough... and that tongue, I have to do something about it."

He closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath as he thought of what he could do.

His eyes opened, and ice began to form around him like armour.

He turned the [All-severing Moonlight (Replica)] into a sword once again and moved forward. Each of his steps left thin ice on the ground.

He then commanded the ice elementals to form layers of ice on the ground and stepped on it.

The aqua lizard flickered its tongue and lifted its leg before stomping. The ice underneath cracked due to its weight as it moved towards Jaden.

Wind elementals helped his movements as he appeared near the aqua lizard. It turned to attack, but before it could, he disappeared and appeared behind it.

He caught its tail and mumbled, "Spark Jolt."

Lighting elementals gathered around his hold hand an electric jolt ran through the aqua lizard's body.

Faint steam rose from its body as it flickered between flesh and water state.

Even so. Jaden wasn't done yet.

He mumbled again, "Spark jolt."

Again.

Again.

And again.

The aqua lizard's legs went numb. It fell and looked at Jaden with heavy eyes. It opened its mouth, and the tongue shot out once again.

Just as it came out, Jaden muttered, "Umbral Chains."

Chains shot out of the shadows and held onto the tongue of the lizard.

He jumped onto the aqua lizard's back and dug his sword into it. The aqua lizard screamed, and a few of the chains broke as it tried to pull back its tongue.

He dug his sword as deep as he could and took it out. The [All-severing Moonlight (Replica)] melted, covered his arms and turned into a platted gauntlet.

He dug his arm into the wound before it could heal and mumbled with a wide grin across his face, "Let's make you breathe fire, Blazing Cyclone."

Flames erupted into the wound and began to burn the flesh of the aqua lizard. At the same time, it pulled him deeper into the wound.

His grin widened further as he mumbled the spell again, "Blazing Cyclone."

The flames came back. A chunk of his mana was already gone, but due to the Moonlight's Touch enchantment of [All-severing Moonlight (Replica)], all of it was regenerated the next moment.

He continued to use the spell until a message appeared before him.

[You have slain a C rank enemy.]

[Experience +18 (Kill)]

[Ding!]

[Host has levelled up!]

[Host has reached level 18!]

Jaden pulled out his arm and fell on the back of the aqua lizard with a tired expression on his face. The smell of burnt flesh entered his nose as he lay there for a few moments.

The ice armour melted, and the [All-severing Moonlight (Replica)] took the form of a sword before he stood up and muttered, "I have to find its mana core."

He slashed and hacked into its dead body until he found a glowing blue crystal the size of an adult human's thumb.

He slid the mana core in his pocket and muttered, "Summon."

Black sparks fell from his grimoire, and three figures appeared before him.

They were all of the three D rank summons he had.

They looked at each other before going their own way, while Jaden went to the south to continue killing more of them.
