HELP! These Girls Wants To Kill Me

Chapter 68: 68

The three of them sat there in silence for the entire night without speaking a single word.

It wasn't until it was three in the morning that the two women left for their respective rooms, leaving behind the figure of Yang Ze, who was still admiring the starry sky.

In his previous life, he would sometimes travel hundreds of miles just to reach a place untouched by civilisation and then sit under the open sky, quietly admiring the stars. Thankfully, in this world, he didn't need to travel anywhere to look at the stars.

The technology in this world was relatively backwards, preventing any form of light pollution. This let him have a clear view of the stars, even better than that on Earth.

"It's really different." Looking at the sky that was filled to the brim with numerous stars, Yang Ze just smiled. The sky above him was completely different from that of Earth.

Not to mention innumerable stars and different constellations, there were even more miraculous sights.

There was a gaseous giant that he could see clearly, which looked like the moon except it was a mix of red and brown gases that seemed to be moving constantly.

Then there was something like a cloud of gas, silver in colour, with numerous dimly lit small rocks constantly moving around.

Other than these two, there were numerous other phenomena that he had never heard of before. To someone like him who loved space, it was extremely novel.

Were it any other time, he would have definitely enjoyed it. But the small conversation that he just had with these two women kept replaying in his head.

To his dismay, he actually enjoyed their company. Surprisingly, the two of them were pretty good to talk to when they were not their usual self or trying to kill him.

For a while, he couldn't help but wonder if it was because he was craving human interaction that even their company felt good.

Taking a deep breath, he could still smell the lingering scent of wine in the air along with their faint body fragrance.

"And Lin Wan..."

Unlike these two, he knew Lin Wan was not dead. And to make things worse, she was now fixated on him for god knows why.

In this entire world, she was the only one who knew the truth about his physique. She was already unhinged before her death, and now... Yang Ze was afraid that she would be even crazier.

He didn't want to be as helpless as before. He wanted to control his own life and death and not be at the mercy of someone like him. He wasn't averse to the idea of getting into a relationship with her. But the two of them needed to know each other and have mutual respect for that to happen.

But judging by Lin Wan's thinking and her upbringing in this crazy world, it would be a miracle if even one-tenth of this could be accomplished.

"Forget it." Shaking his head, Yang Ze threw out all those distracting thoughts.

"I will leave tomorrow's problem to tomorrow's me."

With a relieved sigh, he stood up, walked to the pond at the end of the backyard, before taking off his shirt and pants and then...

*Splash

Without any hesitation, he jumped into it.

"Hiss..." Even though he had reached the peak of Foundation Forging, he still shivered due to the cold.

But after a few more seconds, he got used to it.

Yang Ze didn't swim but relaxed his body, sinking deeper and deeper.

Even though the pond didn't look deep, to Yang Ze's surprise, it was actually twenty meters in depth.

After hitting the bottom of the pond, Yang Ze just lay there in silence.

Because of his talent 'Affinity For Water' (blue), he didn't need to worry about drowning. He could freely breathe underwater. Hell, he felt even more at ease inside the water.

He just stayed like that till it was morning.

"Phew." Coming out of the pond, he shook his head, grabbed his clothes and headed to his room.

Because both Lin Yue and Xiao Ruolan were drunk, he didn't have to worry about running into them.

After reaching in his room, he finally wiped his body clean, changed into a new set of clothes and sat down in meditation. After a few more hours, he could use his Enlightenment talent to practice, but till then, he could just practice by himself. Even though his progress was abysmal, with the 'Persistent' talent, he was bound to make progress.

Hours passed in the blink of an eye before Yang Ze finally opened his eyes. Even though he didn't make any progress, he could feel his foundation strengthening. If he were to practice at this speed, perhaps in the next ten or so years, he would be able to step into the realm of Vein Expansion without the help of any external resources.

It was already a scary number. For others, it would be nigh impossible to step into the Vein Expansion realm without any external resources. But for Yang Ze to accomplish it in a decade... if words got out, people would definitely love to cut him open to study his secret.

"Now then..." Looking at the Mystic Nether Art in front of him, Yang Ze hesitated for a long time.

His daily quota of Enlightenment had refreshed.

Initially, he wanted to just practice normally and aim for the Vein Expansion Realm, but the allure of so-called Mental Energy was too much.

Conjuring things out of thin air and manifesting items as well as using natural phenomena... How could he not be excited after learning about them?

"Screw it." Gritting his teeth, Yang Ze took a deep breath, used his enlightenment and chose to practice the Mystic Nether Art.

The moment he used Enlightenment, he felt his mind becoming as his understanding increased at an inhumane level. The previous text that didn't make any sense to him was like a children's poem now. He just needed to glance at it once before understanding it completely.

It took him less than one minute to memorise the entire Mystic Nether Art before he closed his eyes and began to practice it.

Unlike the traditional cultivation where one tempers their bodies, then opens up their dantian with innumerable resources, the process of opening the Sea of Consciousness was completely different.

It didn't rely on brute force or the use of resources; instead, it relied on gently nurturing the mind, getting into a relaxed state and years of constant meditation to open it gradually. It doesn't happen overnight, but requires decades of accumulation.

At least for the normal people, this was the process.

But for the current Yang Ze...

He could already feel himself in a trance-like state as he arrived in an empty void.

Looking around, he couldn't see anything other than his illusory hands and body.

Yang Ze wandered around aimlessly for what felt like centuries in a daze before he abruptly stopped at a barrier.

"This..." It was the mind's barrier that sealed one's sea of consciousness.

Only after it is broken can one open their sea of consciousness.

Without any hesitation, Yang Ze punched with all his might, but his attack was like dropping a drop of water on a thick ox. Forget about destroying it; it didn't even send ripples.

After the initial failure, Yang Ze didn't attack.

Under the influence of the Enlightenment, his thinking and emotions have long since surpassed those of a human.

He just raised his hand and touched the invisible barrier before practising the Mystic Nether Art, and with every circulation, he would feel the barrier weakening.

Yang Ze didn't know how long he had been practising. After what felt like eternity, the barrier in front of him finally cracked before shattering like an eggshell.

"Hisss..."

The moment the barrier shattered, Yang Ze felt an intense, overwhelming pain in his mind before he opened his eyes in the real world.

"Ugh!" He touched his nose only to feel blood on his fingers.

"Damn it." For others, opening their sea of consciousness was a relatively pleasant experience. But for him, it was worse than dying.

After all, unlike others who would use decades to weaken the barrier before opening it, he used less than fifteen minutes. It was bound to have some side effects.

Thankfully, other than a bloody nose and an intense headache, there wasn't anything else.

Letting out a sigh of relief, Yang Ze wiped the blood, closed his eyes and finally looked inside his Sea of Consciousness.

"This... this..." When Yang Ze opened his eyes again, he was shocked to find himself standing in an empty white space.

Unlike his Dantian, there was no darkness or fog obstructing his view.

As far as his eyes could see, there was an endless field of white. But this wasn't blinding white; instead, it was more like a soft glow of the moon.

"This is my sea of consciousness?" Muttering to himself, Yang Ze couldn't help but clench his fists in excitement.

It was easier than he initially thought. Earlier, he was ready to spend days or even weeks to open his sea of consciousness. But to his pleasant surprise, he was able to do it in just a single day.

The only thing he was regretful for was that there weren't any special changes.

Other than feeling light and full of energy, opening his sea of consciousness didn't bring him any advantages.

"I am being too greedy." Yang Ze could only shake his head with a bitter smile.

He needed to visualise one hundred mortal objects first before he could even use them.

"What should I choose for my first item?" Yang Ze didn't make any hasty decisions. Even though he could visualise anything from a stone to a blade of grass, he didn't want to waste his limited slots by visualising them.

Perhaps there was no choice for others due to their limited lifespan and talent, so they could only choose mundane things which were easy to visualise, but Yang Ze was different. With the help of Enlightenment talent, he could visualise anything without any worries.

Even though he had innumerable options, he didn't want to rush. He wanted his first visualised item to be something special. An item that actually meant something to him instead of just being there for the sake of filling space.

As for visualising a puppet as Lin Yue requested, he had long thrown that idea out of the window.

"What should I choose?" Yang Ze paced back and forth in his room for hours, unable to come to a decision.

It wasn't until a few more hours had passed that he grit his teeth and made up his mind.

"It shall be you...."
