Another tentacle lashed toward Crowne. He twisted his body sideways, scraping his chain weapon against the ground, scattering sand to divert the attack. But the pressure from the strike blew him several meters backward.
Soldier Rabbit stabbed his spear into the ground, activating his skill, Barrier Field. Instantly, a barrier appeared, shielding Crowne from the next wave of attacks.
"Thanks," Crowne said as he stood back up.
Soldier Rabbit proudly patted his chest.
Crowne gave a faint smile. "Alright, let's finish this."
He brushed off the dirt from his clothes, took a deep breath, and exhaled slowly. Then he nodded with determination.
"It seems I have no choice but to use that power again," he said.
Crowne channeled mana into his weapon. In an instant, his Dwarfwood Chainblade was enveloped in an overwhelming surge of magic energy. He dashed forward at once. When the sea monster tried to strike him,
Crowne dropped his body backward, supporting himself with his left hand while throwing a dagger at the same time.
"Pull!"
Slash!
The dagger spun through the air, slicing the monster's massive arm. Its hand was almost severed, but the creature quickly caught it and reattached it again.
Bang!
Crowne dodged the next blow. He slid under the monster's legs. When it tried to grab him, Crowne swiftly slashed at the creature's groin.
Cut!
"Aaarrrg!" the monster screamed.
He didn't stop there. Crowne poured an even greater amount of mana into his weapon, focusing all his power into a single strike.
The sea monster couldn't even react before Crowne's blade swung.
Slash!
The monster's body was split in two. Blood splattered everywhere. Crowne smiled, knowing he had won.
"With this... my mission is done," he said proudly.
He turned his head and saw his other beasts still fighting the remaining sea monsters. Crowne wanted to help them and end the battle quickly. But just as he took a step forward,
Something suddenly pushed him hard. Crowne fell to the ground.
Baam!
He quickly turned around and saw his Rabbit Soldier flung away, half of its body destroyed. Blood was flowing out.
Crowne immediately stood up and used the skill "Wind Step Slash." In a flash, he caught the Rabbit Soldier's body with his hands.
The Rabbit Soldier smiled faintly and closed his eyes.
"Rest now," Crowne said.
He returned the beast to his Dimensional Prison Ring. The Rabbit Soldier vanished from sight.
At that very moment, a magic shot was fired at him. Crowne took a deep breath, planting his feet firmly with a serious look.
"So, you're still alive," he said.
The sea monster was still standing before him, only about a hundred meters away. Somehow, it had come back to life. Its body had completely regenerated without a single scar left.
The magic projectile was already very close. Crowne gripped his sword tightly and leaned forward.
"Storm Cleaver!" Crowne shouted.
As the shot approached, he swung his sword upward. A crescent-shaped gust of wind sliced through the incoming blast.
The projectile split into two.
"You will end here," Crowne said coldly.
As he spoke, mana surged violently from within his body. The magic on his weapon grew sharper and more concentrated. Crowne was using nearly all his remaining mana.
He would end the fight with this strike. He inhaled deeply, exhaled slowly. There could be no failure.
"Wind Step Slash!"
Crowne appeared behind the monster. The creature realized it and quickly turned its head, opening its mouth to fire another blast. But before it could release it, Crowne vanished again.
He reappeared elsewhere. The monster spun and kicked toward Crowne, but with a small leap, Crowne dodged it perfectly.
He crouched on top of the monster's leg. Their distance was now extremely close. Crowne channeled mana into his feet.
"Slash!"
Crowne slashed again, but at the same time, the monster fired another magic laser. The strike was neutralized. The monster prepared another attack, but at that moment, Crowne disappeared once more.
"Got you!" he shouted.
Cut.
Blood dripped.
With a light step, he vanished again just before the monster could retaliate.
Swoosh!
A deep gash appeared on the right side of the creature's body. Blood gushed out. The monster roared and swung its tentacles, trying to catch Crowne, but it only grabbed air.
"Over here!"
Crowne appeared above the monster's head, then vanished again just as a tentacle tried to strike him. Another slash landed on the creature's back.
Slash! Slash! Slash!
Every time Crowne appeared, a new wound was carved. The monster's body was now covered in countless slashes from every direction. Yet, its regeneration worked rapidly, closing the wounds almost instantly.
Crowne gritted his teeth. "Still healing that fast? I need to move faster," he muttered.
The monster glared at him with glowing red eyes. A thunderous rumble came from its throat. In its mouth, a massive orb of light began to form, dense with magic energy that distorted the air around it.
Crowne moved immediately. He twisted his body backward, stepping on the air, reinforcing his footing with mana. In a blink, he dashed again.
"Wind Step Slash!"
A streak of light cut through the air, slicing the monster's neck. But the orb of light kept growing, even larger than before.
Crowne landed on the raging sea. Water splashed around him. He looked up. "Then I'll make you swallow your own attack!"
He vanished again. This time, his movements were far faster. His body was no more than a blur darting around the monster.
Slash!
Slash!
Slash!
Slash!
The sea monster screamed in agony. Blood gushed from dozens of fresh wounds. Every time Crowne disappeared, another slash appeared in a new spot — shoulder, chest, stomach, even the base of its tentacles.
But even with such heavy injuries, the creature still refused to fall. Its regeneration kept working, reconnecting torn flesh. Its body trembled, and from its wounds, smaller but faster tentacles emerged.
When the monster finally located Crowne, it fired another blast.
"You made a mistake."
Vanish.
Kick!
One second before the blast fired, Crowne kicked the monster's chin, forcing its mouth shut.
BOOM!
It exploded.
Blood burst everywhere. Crowne had already retreated to a safe distance. Half of the monster's head was blown apart.
Yet, it still regenerated. Seeing that, Crowne clicked his tongue in annoyance and furrowed his brows.
"Ah, of course. I should have realized this from the start," he muttered.
Then he nodded and smiled. "This time, you will lose."
