It looked to him that the demonized is inferior in hand-to-hand combat.
No matter how fast you're, if your skill in combat is inferior to your enemy, your chance of winning remains low.
Moreover, looking at the masked man, he seemed to be capable of melee combat. At least that's how Rossbert sees him.
Their confrontation continued. Every impact was heavy. Blood flew everywhere and the demonized got beaten up.
Rossbert felt a surge of admiration toward the masked man. He fought bravely despite having his attributes lowered. And even with that handicap, he still overwhelmed his enemy.
Just who is he? Rossbert was very curious about his identity.
The next word of the demonized worried Rossbert.
While kneeling on the ground as he was wiping the blood dripping from his mouth, the demonized man looked at the masked man while grinning.
"Hehe. No matter how many times you beat me up, it was still useless. I can heal myself as many times as I want. I just wait for you to become exhausted. Hahaha!"
True. Rossbert agreed to it. If the masked man doesn't do anything. There's a tendency for him to get exhausted later on. The chances that the favor of their battle flipped to the demonized side are very high!
Contrary to the demonized expectation, his enemy showed no change of expression. He kept on coming to beat him up.
"Dammit! Are you nuts?! The curse I inflicted on you will remain forever. Wahahaha!" The demonized threatened him.
However, what he got in exchange was…
Wam! Bam! Bam! A combination of punches and kicks landed on the demonized man. His body was sent flying and rolling on the ground.
Seeing that, Rossbert could not help but sympathize with the demonized man a little. If only the demonized was a normal person, he would have died long ago and would not have suffered this much.
Rossbert realized one thing in this battle. It wasn't actually good to have such an ability to passively heal yourself from injuries because it only prolongs your suffering.
Despite that, the demonized still chose to stand up and heal himself.
"You can't hurt me!!!" The demonized man shouted and rushed forward.
'His resilience is truly admirable but at the same time idiotic,' Rossbert commented in his mind.
The demonized clenched his teeth.
Tsk!
There were times when his sharp claws grazed his enemy. But it wasn't enough to cause heavy injuries. At most, his claws could only tear the masked man's clothes.
'The f*ck with him!' He grunted. Tsk! Even with lowered attributes, this masked man is still able to beat me!? Unbelievable!'
The demonized could not believe it.
He also noticed something more unbelievable about this enemy that even Rossbert was also wondering about. The masked man seemed to have never felt exhausted.
What kind of person is he?!
Eman grabbed the enemy's horn and punched him repeatedly.
Bam!
-5332
Wam!
-4332
Bang!
-5114
Guwah! Guf! Gyuh!
With a nosebleed, "W-Wait! If you kill me you can't find a cure in your curse!" Said the demonized with his face in a mess.
Blood was all over his face.
Seeing him right now, one could say that he had no chance of winning. Also, he looked exhausted.
Behind the mask, Eman just grinned.
"Oh?" He said.
"Yes! Yes! So if you want to cure the curse you need my help!"
"I see."
Noticing that the enemy loosened his grip on his horn, the demonized sighed in relief and said.
"You're strong. Why don't you work with us? I'm sure it's easy for you to rise in rank if you want."
Hearing that… Eman fell silent and pondered for a moment.
This enemy had a tremendous amount of health points. He even had more health points than the Ratmen Lord and even the Snake-eyed Phantom.
This demonized body is truly very tough. At Least tougher than those possessed by demons that he fought with before.
Sad to say, it looks like he relies too much on his abilities and superior body that's why he didn't give much attention to improving his hand-to-hand combat proficiency.
If only he was capable enough in close combat, this fight might have had a different result, especially with his Curse and Binding Chains abilities. He would have been a very terrifying opponent.
It could also be said that Eman was just lucky this time because this enemy was not good in hand-to-hand combat.
Well. For Eman though, even if the enemy was good in close-quarter combat, he would just use other methods to outclass him.
In regards to his offer, that was indeed a very tempting offer. It would give him a chance to infiltrate their base and gain more knowledge about the cult.
"If you join us, you'll also get a chance to receive a ritual and be granted a superior body like mine. You'll become stronger than you're now. Isn't that wonderful?"
"Indeed. That's wonderful…"
Hearing them, Rossbert frowned. "No! Don't—" as Rossbert was about to say something, his words stopped coming when he witnessed what the masked man did at that moment.
Did he sever the demonized head using a hand chop? Rossbert gawked.
What? What? The demonized could not understand what was happening. He suddenly found his vision rolling around.
He saw the dark sky. Some snowflakes were falling down. A moment later, powdered snow rose up like dust when his head landed on the ground.
"What the hell did you do?! Are you nuts?!" He shouted!
'Even with a severed head, it can still talk. Truly a demon,' Eman thought.
"That's my answer," Eman said.
"What!?" The demonized is somewhat appalled.
"You! Are you not frightened that you'll not be healed by my curse?!"
Rossbert closed and opened his eyes several times. He already forgot he was still hanging in the air in between the huge creature's claws.
He heard the masked man say, "I'm not worried about it because it will automatically disappear later. Am I right?"
'Eh? What? Is that true?' Rossbert thought.
They saw the demonized man widen his eyes.
"H-How d-did you know about it?"
Hearing that Eman smiled.
Eman crouched to whisper to the demonized man's head. "Well, that's a secret…" he said, then picked the head.
"You! Bastard! How did you know about it!"
Eman looked around and saw the headless body fall to the ground.
Finally, the battle ended.
In his vision, the Curse icon showed a countdown timer.
There were still 25 minutes and 32 seconds in there.
This one of the benefits of having a system. The enemy could not fool him.
Suddenly, he received a telepathic call from Azure.
"My lord, please come here."
