The Paranoid Elf Queen Turned Me Into Her Sister

Ch. 179

Volume 2, Chapter 39 ~Holiday Approaching

Looking at the girl before him, Dylin was momentarily stunned. Even after living alongside numerous beautiful girls with varying styles, this doll-like face was still enough to leave him briefly lost.

The golden-haired girl, now facing him, remained silent. Her emerald eyes, calm as a still lake, fixed steadily on the black-haired boy who had called out to her. She said nothing. Except for the gentle blinking of her eyes, she stood still, flawless like a delicate figurine.

Dylin, who had come prepared with lines, suddenly forgot all of them under her gaze.

The blonde tilted her head. Her twin ponytails flowed like water over her delicate, snow-white collarbones, as if she was trying to figure out what the boy wanted.

"Sorry for suddenly calling out to you. This may be abrupt since we’re meeting for the first time, but please allow me to express my admiration and love at first sight." Though it was just a joke for John's sake, saying it left Dylin feeling extremely uncomfortable.

Love wasn’t something to joke about. Just for a friend’s prank, he’d made such a false confession—it made his insides burn with discomfort.

He shouldn’t have done it.

Now, all he wanted was to wrap this up and leave. Lying about this sort of thing felt like fire slowly creeping through his chest.

What had gotten into him? What kind of girl would accept a sudden confession from someone she’d never met? Unless she was out of her mind, it was normal to roll her eyes and say, “Blue shrimp brain.”

“May I take it that Dylin is confessing his love to me?”

“Huh?” Dylin was surprised to hear her speak. Her voice was delicate and melodious, innocent and untouched by the mundane world—like a songbird in a mountain valley.

She knew his name?

That was unexpected. But on second thought, not so strange. Though it might sound narcissistic, he was kind of famous around school.

Famous in many senses—the ultimate thigh-hugger, the bootlicker who licked his way to the top of the Crown Tournament. Scorned, envied, and admired all at once.

As champion of the Crown Tournament, Dylin was known for one thing: latching onto powerful allies. Oh, and being a sycophant.

At least, that was how people saw him.

The Divine Child classes weren’t too bad—rational and reserved. But over in the Divine Princess classes, plenty of people were plotting ways to knock him down.

So yes, he was well-known, if not well-liked. It wasn’t shocking that she recognized him.

“I apologize. My request was indeed quite abrupt. Please forgive my rudeness.” Dylin decided to back out. It would be improper to continue.

“Sorry, I got caught up in the moment. Love at first sight is a bit reckless, I understand if you reject me.” He tried giving her a way out.

“Alright.”

“So, you refuse… huh? Wait, what did you just say?” Dylin blinked in confusion. Had he misheard?

Looking at the little blonde girl standing before him, hands relaxed, gaze calm, Dylin was speechless.

“Um, what did you say?”

“You said your confession was reckless.”

“But if we don’t try, how will we know if it’s reckless?” she replied.

Dylin eyed her strangely.

“So… you mean?”

“I accept your confession.”

“???” Dylin's brain short-circuited.

“What the—!” John, hiding in the shadows, swore out loud.

If Dylin hadn’t just returned from Ruglian, he’d have suspected he was secretly seducing this stunning golden-haired loli somewhere on the side.

When she turned around, John had been stunned. His eyes stuck to her like magnets, jaw almost hitting the ground when she took the confession seriously.

If they weren’t already acquainted, Dylin really did have unbelievable luck with women.

John clutched his chest in frustration and glared at Dylin with envy and spite.

“Miss, we didn’t even know each other before this,” Dylin stammered, realizing too late how foolish he’d been. He never expected her to accept what was practically a joke.

“Well, now we know each other.” This emotionless loli refused to let go, clinging to the technicality of their interaction.

“No, no, we don’t even know each other’s names.”

“I know yours. You’re Dylin, Teresa’s Divine Child.”

“I’m Yimi.”

“There. Now you know my name too. We know each other.” Yimi fell silent, staring at him like she was waiting for a response.

Dylin took a step back and bowed slightly. “Sorry, Yimi-san. My behavior earlier was inappropriate. I apologize for any trouble I caused you.”

“But about the confession—please don’t take it seriously.”

“To be honest, it was part of a game of truth or dare with my friend. I know it was wrong. If you’d like, I can offer some kind of compensation.”

“But you just said you wanted a romantic relationship for the purpose of mating. What’s said can’t be unsaid.”

“M-Mating?!” Dylin’s eyes widened. “Hey, now! That’s not what I said!”

He wasn’t so crude as to make lewd jokes to a stranger.

“Then what did you mean?” Yimi looked genuinely confused. “A confession leads to dating, dating leads to marriage, which ends with mating in bed. If not that, then are you saying you just wanted to flirt and run?”

“…”

Dylin was speechless. Somehow, hearing these blunt words from such an innocent little girl was even more shocking.

“Isn’t that a bit inappropriate?”

“Would it be more appropriate if it led to a child?”

“…Where do kids these days learn this stuff?” Dylin couldn’t help but wonder.

“Why did you agree so readily?” he asked. He couldn’t figure out what about him was so appealing.

“Because you confessed.”

“You don’t say yes to every confession, do you?” If she did, she might end up tricked into bed and helping the guy count money afterward.

“No.” Due to their height difference, Yimi had to look up at him. “I only accept confessions from you.”

Dylin’s mouth twitched. The last time he heard a pickup line this cheesy was... last time.

“What if I said I also fell in love with you at first sight? Would you believe it?” Yimi asked seriously.

“No.” Dylin shook his head instantly.

Love at first sight only happened between people with top-tier looks. Otherwise, it was just a delusion.

“We don’t know each other.”

“That’s why we should spend more time together and get to know each other.”

“Wait—what do you even like about me?”

“One glance and I fell in love.” She stared at him so intently that Dylin had to look away.

“Let’s talk about this another day. I have something to do.” Seeing her refuse to let go, Dylin opted for tactical retreat.

But when he left the Divine Child hall, he realized—she was following him.

What was with this persistent tail?

Today was full of weirdness. Dylin didn’t think he was that attractive—who accepted a random confession on the spot?

Even if she was fond of him, she should’ve backed off. Why follow him?

Wherever he went, she was there. Dylin was convinced she was tailing him, though if he called her out, she could just claim coincidence.

“Yimi, how about we start as friends?” Dylin finally said, defeated by the situation. He had caused this, after all.

“Friends?”

“Yes. Jumping into dating from a random confession is too sudden. We should get to know each other first.”

“Friends.” Yimi looked down, thoughtful. Then she looked up. “What level?”

“Eh? Level?”

“Intimacy level. What level is ‘friend’?”

“Uh…” Her strange logic threw him off. He thought for a moment. “Somewhere between strangers and lovers?”

“Below lovers, above strangers. Got it—‘pre-lover,’ then.”

“Nice to meet you, pre-lover.”

“Wait, I—” Before he could say more, Yimi had already walked away.

What the hell was that?

So bizarre!

They’d barely finished their project assessment, and now this?

Dylin rubbed his forehead and turned to leave.

He didn’t see it, but after he turned, Yimi’s gaze remained fixed on his retreating back.

“What a poor disguise.” Her emerald eyes glinted with a sharp, cold killing intent.

“Teresa.”

“I’ve finally found you.”

Time passed swiftly, unnoticed by most.

Soon, final exams arrived.

For other teams, this was the ultimate test of their semester’s efforts. For the Radiant Sun and Moon, it was also a test—but of their teaching and Wenfu’s progress.

Yes, for the Radiant Sun and Moon team, Wenfu’s results mattered more than their own.

All three were eager to see whether their training had paid off.

And heaven did not betray effort. Thanks to the three mentors’ careful guidance, Wenfu’s scores improved dramatically. Not top-tier, but comfortably mid-level.

Patient Wenfu—discharged!

None of them cared about their own grades. When the reports came, they all searched first for Wenfu’s name.

Upon seeing her impressive written scores, they reacted like proud moms.

Relieved. Their little kitten was growing up.

Then came inter-team practical battles, where first-year teams competed for overall score based on performance and results.

Once again, those matched against Radiant Sun and Moon faced unexpected defeat.

Confident in their own growth, they didn’t expect how much more Radiant Sun and Moon had improved. Felicia had broken her limits, and their experience in Ruglian had forged a deep team bond.

The result? One-sided, boring defeats. Their opponents didn’t even get to use their trump cards before being thoroughly beaten.

Radiant Sun and Moon went 3–0, topping the first-year rankings.

After the intense term, it was time for vacation.

Most students chose to return home, and even some teachers did as well. But those without a destination weren’t left out—the dorms remained open during break.

As for the Radiant Sun and Moon team:

Felicia announced she’d return to the Whiteglass Kingdom. Wenfu also planned to visit home.

When Astrid was asked about her plans, she hesitated—then glanced at Dylin.

She knew his situation well. Unlike other students, Dylin had no home to return to. He would be staying at the Crown Estate.
