There's Absolutely No Problem With The Magic Cards I Made!

Ch. 52

Chapter 52. Dekan’s Transformation

“Uh…”

Mi’e hesitated for a moment.

She naturally rested her elbow against the shoe cabinet and then gently patted Iris’s back, saying to her:

“Iris, I’ll go to your dorm and keep you company.”

Mi’e had hidden my shoes before opening the door.

She couldn’t let Iris discover my shoes in the shoe cabinet.

Although she and I were innocent.

If Iris saw them, nothing she said would clear things up.

“My place hasn’t been tidied up for several days…”

Iris stammered.

“It’s okay, I’ll help you tidy up.”

“How can I let you do that? I was the one who disturbed you in the middle of the night and woke you up…”

Iris’s voice grew quieter and quieter.

“It’s alright, I was actually staying up late doing an experiment.”

Mi’e said gently, all the while trying to lead Iris out of the dormitory.

However, Iris clung tightly to Mi’e, her body still trembling, seemingly very resistant to the dark corridor outside.

“Mi’e, just stay with me for a little while…”

Iris’s tone was almost like a plea.

“Hah.”

Mi’e let out a helpless, soft sigh.

She slowly turned to avert Iris’s gaze and took a pair of slippers from the shoe cabinet for her.

Then she led Iris into the living room.

Mi’e settled Iris on the sofa, handed her a thin blanket, and poured her a cup of hot water.

Even though Mi’e was walking back and forth in the living room, Iris’s gaze never left her.

Having just had a nightmare, Iris was still in a very fragile state.

It seemed she had been terribly frightened.

Mi’e sat down beside Iris, stroked her hair, and said softly:

“Iris, don’t worry, there are no demons in the academy.”

“But I’m still so scared. I dreamed that I fell into the Demon Academy. I was very weak, and then a terrifying demon chased me, holding a purification card and saying he wanted to steam my blood dry…”

“…”

Mi’e finally understood.

Iris’s nightmare drew material from the footage of the Demon Academy and the indelible impression I had left on Iris at the Card Makers’ Association.

I really caused a lot of harm.

Mi’e: “That demon you dreamed of, did he look a lot like Dekan?”

Iris: “...Yes.”

“Then there’s nothing to be afraid of. It’s obviously just a dream. No matter what, Dekan is still a per… a human.”

Mi’e thought for a moment and felt it was more precise to use the word “human” to describe me.

After all, I didn't act much like one.

“Mm-hmm.”

Iris nodded and thought quietly.

Hearing Mi’e’s reasoning, she gradually felt that the dream she had just experienced wasn’t so real anymore.

She was very safe and at ease now, and Mi’e was by her side.

Thinking about it carefully, that kind of terrifying dream was impossible; it was all fake.

Just like it was impossible for me to suddenly appear in Mi’e’s dorm.

And in the real world, it was impossible for me to turn into a demon.

Seeing that Iris had finally calmed down, Mi’e said:

“Iris, you’re still dwelling too much on what happened at the Card Makers’ Association that day. You really don’t need to think so much about it. You didn’t have any bad intentions; it was Dekan who was being mischievous.”

“It was so embarrassing… Whenever I think about what I said to him that day, I don’t know how to face him. But he was really so mean!”

Iris covered her head, her expression turning both shy and angry.

“He deliberately pretended to be so humble. Now that I think back, I realize he was looking at me like I was an idiot, and then he praised me with a face full of sincerity, wuru wuli rua…”

The more Iris spoke, the angrier she got, so agitated that her words became a little slurred.

She had clearly become more spirited.

Mi’e smiled and listened to Iris’s endless complaints from the side.

As long as Iris regained her spirits, she could send her back soon.

...

Watching the clock in the laboratory, I felt sleepier and sleepier.

My eyelids gradually started to fight to stay open.

When Mi’e left the laboratory, she had applied a 【Sound Insulation】 magic to the room.

So I didn’t have to worry about making slight noises in the laboratory and being discovered.

But the downside was that I also didn’t know what was happening outside.

I didn’t dare to go out at all before Mi’e came back, which was terrible.

The laboratory was not a good place to sleep.

At least a sofa would be nice.

But there was no choice, I was too sleepy. Couldn’t take it anymore, time to sleep.

I slumped onto the table and quickly fell into a deep slumber.

Not long after.

My body, lying on the table, trembled slightly, and then I slowly raised my head.

I looked around, seemingly a little puzzled.

“Did this kid not go back to his dorm today?”

I muttered to myself.

I flipped through the books and notes on the table, then picked up a potion bottle to examine it.

The potion bottle reflected my face and my icy expression.

Although my appearance hadn’t changed, my pupils were tinged with a deep gold, and a small horn had appeared on the upper right side of my forehead.

It was completely different from my succubus form in the Demon Academy.

I was clearly a demon, yet I seemed to carry a trace of supreme divinity.

“So he was researching in the potion lab and fell asleep. Good, not thinking about those crooked waifu cards all day.”

Although there was no smile on my lips, my tone seemed much lighter.

Then I gently put down the potion bottle, stood up from the chair, walked to the door, and pushed open the laboratory door.

The warm and soft light seemed to make my eyes uncomfortable for a moment.

I hadn’t expected the outside to be a living room full of life.

Even less did I expect there to be other people.

Those golden pupils of mine instantly locked onto Mi’e and Iris sitting on the sofa.

“Eh?”

Mi’e and Iris both noticed the “Demon Dekan” pushing the door open from the laboratory at the same time.

Mi’e was puzzled at first, then in an instant, a terrifying killing intent emanated from her entire body. She shielded Iris, and a deep purple, crystalline dagger appeared in her hand.

Mi’e’s gentle and casual temperament had vanished, leaving only sharpness in her eyes.

My eyes held a puzzled look as I looked at the two women.

Although I had no hostility, the sense of danger emanating from me, like the advent of a demon king, made the air grow a few degrees colder.

Just as I and Mi’e were in a standoff.

Iris’s nearly short-circuited brain finally seemed to start working again.

Was this a dream?

Or reality?

She only felt an endless fear drowning her like an ocean, suffocating her.

“Ah… ah…”

Iris’s expression grew increasingly horrified, and her eyes became redder and redder.

She seemed to want to speak but couldn’t control her vocal cords.

She only felt her legs go weak and her body tremble violently.

Then her eyes rolled back, and she fainted.
