"Veyna, kill him!" Selvara shouted, her voice sharp, desperate.
But the beast only turned, staring back at her with a low, rumbling growl. Her massive head shook slowly, like she was denying her command.
Everyone froze.
Selvara stepped back, her shoulders trembling, eyes wet. "Why…? I thought you were my friend."
Veyna's gaze softened, and even in that monstrous face there was something sad, almost human.
Aiden's voice cut through the silence, calm as ever. "Selva… don't worry. You'll remember. Just wait for me."
Her cheeks flared red. "Huh? Selva... D-don't call me that! I am not your lover!"
Aiden just smiled.
Then—he turned toward Serica.
"You can fly, right?"
""Eh? Yeah, why—"
Before she could finish, Aiden was already infront of her. In one smooth move, his lips pressed against hers.
"Wha—?!" Serica's eyes went huge, her whip nearly dropping from her hand.
The other generals just stared.
Varra's whole body locked up. Her face burned as she slapped both hands over her cheeks. *I want him to do that to me. Why her? Why not me?!*
Selvara's jaw dropped, her chest twisting in something ugly she couldn't name. Heat burst inside her, rage bubbling out. "Y-you pervert!"
Aiden broke the kiss with that same damn smirk. "I'll be borrowing your magic for a bit." His voice smooth, almost teasing.
Serica staggered back, hands to her lips, blushing like a schoolgirl. *No man's ever kissed me. No one's ever dared. He just—he just did it. And… gods… it felt…*
Her knees wobbled. She looked at Varra, voice dreamy. "Varra…"
"Huh?!" Varra squeaked, still red as hell.
"I think… I think I'm in love." Serica twirled in place, hearts practically flowing out of her.
The other generals stared at her, sweatdropping.
Sylas rubbed his temple. "We're in the middle of a battle, and she's swooning."
Sylara smirked. "Well… he is hot."
"Careful now." Sylas warned.
Sylara just giggled toward him.
Fiora sighed, vines drooping. "This is ridiculous…"
Ravenn just pinched the bridge of his nose. "…Gods help us.*
Meanwhile Renn leaned over to Kael, whispering with a mischievous grin. "Kael… don't you think it'd be romantic if you kissed me like that?"
Kael coughed hard, gripping his sword tighter. "Renn, now's not the—!"
"You didn't say no," she giggled.
His face went red.
Up above, Aiden shot into the sky, Serica's magic still glowing faintly on his lips. He leveled his gaze straight at Selvara. "I'm going to make you mine again. Just wait."
"Wh—when was I yours in the first place?!" Selvara yelled, face hot. She glanced toward Veyna, who was calmly curling up like a cat, napping. Her temples throbbed. "What is wrong with you today?" Then she looked toward him, "Why does my head hurt every time I look at you?!"
She gritted her teeth, forcing her hand up. Power swirled, shaping into weapons across her fists.
Twin Tekko-Kagi appeared—iron claws strapped to her hands, gleaming wickedly. Long metal prongs curved like talons, designed for slashing, hooking, tearing through armor. The gauntlets fit her perfectly, her fingers flexing as the blades caught the light.
Aiden smirked. "Tekko Kagi. Long time no see."
Selvara's eyes narrowed. "How do you know their name?! Who the hell are you?" Her voice cracked as the headache flared.
From the sidelines, Kairi's grin widened. "He's the Child of Prophecy… and a beast tamer."
Selvara's whole body froze. "Wh—WHAT?!"
Her jaw fell open. "Child of… prophecy…?"
"Seriously, you didn't know. We had been shouting that for a while." Fiora shouted toward her.
Aiden tilted his head, smile sharp and teasing. "That name's too long. Just call me… My Lord."
Selvara's face exploded red. "Y-you… idiot!!"
The generals exchanged looks, half-nervous, half-amused.
Sylas chuckled under his breath. "Bridge, huh? Fits perfectly."
Sylara elbowed him. "You're enjoying this too much."
"It seems to me that they know each other." Ravenn said, crossing his arms, before thinking, *But how?*
Varra buried her face in her hands, her heart screaming inside her chest. *He kissed Serica. He called Selvara 'mine.' He's too bold. Too impossible. Too… perfect. Gods, I'm falling… I'm falling so hard…*
Serica, still twirling, let out a squeal. "My first kiss~ He stole it! He stole it! And I love him for it!"
"Get a grip," Fiora muttered.
Kael growled, glaring at Aiden. "…This is insane."
"Insanely hot," Renn corrected, still blushing, sneaking another look at Kael.
He turned away fast, ears burning.
"Selva..." Aiden lunged toward her.
The sky cracked open with thunder as Aiden and Selvara clashed.
Her Tekko-Kagi gleamed like moonlit fangs, claws slicing through the air as she lunged forward. Aiden met her charge with his twin daggers, blades singing as they locked against her claws in a shower of sparks.
Selvara hissed, shoving forward. "Stop calling me that! I don't know you!"
Aiden's smirk stayed calm, cool, infuriating. "You do. You just forgot."
Their weapons scraped, locked, then separated with a loud clang! She swung her claws in a vicious cross-slash, but Aiden pivoted smoothly, stepping aside with maddening ease.
"You hate spicy food," he said suddenly.
Selvara froze mid-swing, her body stuttering just for a second. "Wh-what?!"
"You always stole my sweets instead," Aiden went on casually, deflecting her claws with his dagger. "Remember that honey bread stall? You dragged me there every single week."
Her head pulsed. Memories flickered. A laugh, a street vendor, warm honey dripping down her chin. She snarled and shoved the thought away, attacking harder. "Shut up! I—I don't know what you're talking about!"
The generals watched, slack-jawed.
"…Is he flirting with her while fighting?" Fiora deadpanned.
"Looks like it," Sylara smirked, crossing her arms.
Sylas whistled. "That's not flirting. That's straight-up seduction."
Ravenn muttered, "…This man is terrifying."
Selvara's claws whistled again, coming for Aiden's throat. He ducked, his dagger sliding across her Tekko-Kagi, forcing her arm upward. He leaned in close, his lips brushing her ear as he whispered:
"You hum in your sleep. It's cute."
Her entire body went scarlet. "Y-YOU—!" She ripped her arm free, slashing wildly at him, her claws tearing stone and air alike.
Aiden danced through them with infuriating familiarity, spinning around her, always a half-step ahead. He knew her moves. Every slash, every thrust, every counter—he dodged with the grace of someone who had fought beside her a thousand times.
"How… How do you keep dodging like that?!" she yelled, frustration boiling.
"Because," Aiden smirked, deflecting her claws with a dagger twirl, "you always lead with your left."
Her eyes widened. "H-how—?!"
"You also bite your lip before you lunge," he added, sidestepping smoothly as she did just that.
Selvara froze, realizing he had read her before she even moved.
Sylas burst out laughing.
Sylara shook her head, smirking. "It's like watching a husband teasing his wife mid-fight."
"W-wife?!" Selvara shouted, turning red again. "Shut up, I am NOT his—!"
But she didn't finish. Aiden caught her claws mid-swing, twisting his daggers against the Tekko-Kagi. Their faces came dangerously close, breaths mingling.
"You love apple cider," he murmured softly, eyes locked on hers.
Her breath hitched.
"You hate the smell of wet dog fur."
Her claws trembled.
"You pretend to hate hugs," Aiden continued, his voice a whisper now, "but you always cling tighter when you think no one's looking."
Selvara's chest twisted violently. Her mind was a storm. Images, laughter, nights under stars, tears she didn't understand—flashes of a life she couldn't place.
Her claws shook. "S-stop… just stop…"
"You smile with your whole heart, Selva." His smile softened. "And I've missed it."
Selvara's legs buckled for just a second. She staggered back, clutching her head. "Why… why do I… why do I feel this way when you talk to me?!"
The generals all looked at each other, shifting uncomfortably.
"…Okay, this is not a fight anymore," Renn whispered to Kael. "This is a confession."
"Shut up," Kael muttered, face red.
Serica, still twirling her whip, sighed dreamily. "If only it were me…"
Varra buried her face in her hands, groaning. *He's not even fighting me and I'm falling harder. What's wrong with me?*
Selvara screamed, slashing down with both claws. Sparks exploded as Aiden caught them with his daggers, holding her close, eyes burning with warmth.
"You always wanted to see the ocean," he whispered.
Her claws faltered.
"You love watching sunsets."
Her arms weakened.
"You hate being alone."
Her claws dropped.
Her head snapped up, tears spilling now. "Wh-why do you know everything about me?!"
"Because you were mine," Aiden said simply. "You always were."
And then—he dropped his dagger and pulled her forward, pressing his lips to hers.
Selvara's whole body went rigid.
The world stopped.
The generals went wide-eyed. Renn squealed. Sylas muttered "Called it." Serica actually fainted. Varra nearly screamed into her sleeves.
But for Selvara—memories erupted.
Aiden's hand holding hers as they ran through a forest.
Her head resting on his chest.
His lips brushing her forehead.
The words, "Don't forget about me."
Her Tekko-Kagi dissolved into sparks.
Her tears fell freely as she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him tighter against her, kissing him back with desperate, trembling lips.
When they finally broke for air, Selvara gasped against his chest, voice shaking. "M-My Lord… I… I remember… I…"
He stroked her hair, smiling softly. "Welcome back, Selva."
She sobbed, clutching him tighter, refusing to let go.
The battlefield was silent. Even the beast Veyna purred softly, curling protectively around them.
The generals were frozen.
"…So, uh…" Fiora muttered. "Do we… keep fighting, or…?"
"Nope," Sylas smirked, crossing his arms. Then looked toward the other side. "And it seems, Veyra, Miren and the other have done their job.
Sylara chuckled, shaking her head. "Guess the Child of Prophecy really live up to hus reputations."
Renn beamed. "It's so romantic! Kael, kiss me like that!"
"REN—!"
Varra, meanwhile, silently screamed inside her head, cheeks flaming. *He didn't even touch me and yet—gods help me—I'm jealous.*
Serica finally woke up, dazed, whispering, "He stole her too… it's not fair…"
