My SS-Rank Witcher System

Chapter 63: One-tap

The soft hum of the elevator ascending to the fifth floor was the only sound Felix could hear now after leaving the lobby to a heap of broken bodies wriggling painfully on the floor.

He kept his eyes on the digital display of the passing floors, with his hands tucked into his jacket's pockets. The elevator arrived on the fifth floor and slid open with a soft click, to reveal a great number of goons armed with blades and batons, blocking the entire hallway leading up to the boss's office.

Felix was unfazed by this, but was in fact amused at their thought process that made them think they had even the slightest chance to take him down—his Sage identity aside.

They seemed to be forgetting that Sage candidates weren't selected randomly but were chosen from the best of the best out of the entire aspirants from all around the world in different hardcore trials which tested both the strength, endurance, and mental fortitude of the contestants. In other words, Felix was skilled enough to take them down without his class system skills and abilities.

The goons rushed forward with a war cry waving their weapons menacingly, as Felix calmly stepped out of the elevator with his hands still tucked in the jacket's pockets.

The first man arrived before him, but before they could stop their momentum Felix kicked at his ankle that offset his balance and sent him involuntarily kneeling before Felix, before he slammed his knee into their cheekbone with a sickening crunch.

Felix ripped their baton from them and swiftly struck it into the guts of the next that sent them stumbling back, then deflected another weapon whipping down at him before striking it across their chin.

No matter how or where they tried to hit Felix or gang up on him, he was always a step ahead using just a hand with his other hand still tucked into his pockets.

The [Weapon Proficiency] skill proved to be no joke as Felix manhandled the goons and swiftly decimated their numbers without breaking a sweat.

It didn't take time for Felix to dominate the fifth floor as well and gave the floor a new artistic look of tightly packed, dropped bodies. That was when Felix noticed him. Someone who looked out of place; casually leaning beside the door at the end of the hallway that belonged to the Titan Capital mob boss, staring back at him with bored eyes with his hands calmly resting on the hilt of the katana hanging from his waist.

He looked like that one nonchalant character in every movie whose plot armor was stronger than the protagonist and effortlessly looked cool.

Felix knew it the moment he saw him that he was a Sage—probably the same Sage Ben told him about that was after Kyle.

But Felix's expression remained passively cold with no sign of rage, as he stepped over the bodies of the downed goons towards the boss's office.

"Felix Thomasville," The young man spoke lazily—but confidently—as he propped himself from the wall to meet Felix. "I'll have to stop you there—"

Slash!

Felix flicked his sword to the side, sending a spray of fresh blood splattering across the walls as he calmly walked past the Sage who seemed rooted at the spot for a moment, before a thin line appeared across his neck and his head dropped and rolled to the side, followed by his now headless body that fell to its knees before falling flat on its stomach.

[You have killed Lv8 Sage Jackson]

Felix kicked the door right off its hinges and quickly had to slash his sword before him to deflect the bullet spinning for his chest.

Standing at the corner of the office was an older man with a small mustache holding a revolver to Felix's chest, and was about to fire the second shot, when Felix blurred from the spot and appeared before him, twisting the elongated barrel that caused a backlash that forced the man to drop the gun after he pulled the trigger.

"W—wait," The man tried to say in panic, when Felix grabbed him by his hair and pulled him towards the table in the office, before proceeding to bash his face against its surface multiple times, before pulling him back up to face him.

"I have some questions for you. And if you refuse to answer or answer incorrectly, I'll bash your head five times into the table."

"W—wait! Please stop. It's not my doing. It was an order from above. The Sage Council requested we clear the neighborhood a—and even provided the enchanted documents for the loans," the man quickly spoke with blood gushing out from his broken nose and mouth.

"What do you mean by that?" Felix asked with a deep frown.

"T—the loan papers were falsified and enchanted to hypnotize the victim into seeing a good deal, while in actuality it was a rip-off."

"Why?"

"Shouldn't you know?!"

Felix proceeded to slam his face into the hard surface of the wood five times—as promised, before repeating his question. "Why?"

"F—fuck! They plan to renovate the neighborhood to build a lab, but the residents strongly refused to leave. Which was why they contacted us for the job," the man said with heavy breathing.

"A lab?" Felix's pupils constricted as rage clouded his mind.

There was no doubt that it was the same lab from the Sunshine Amusement Park they planned on building in the neighborhood once again. Which could only explain why they would go through such a backdoor to overtake the neighborhood.

He took a deep breath to calm his mind before asking the crucial questions: "What did you do with Kyle?"

"Who? Kyle?" The man went ahead to laugh hysterically. "Is that the reason you came here? To get him? Tsk. Tsk. You don't seem to understand the scale of what you've just done. You're risking your life to save a person who doesn't need saving.

The world is changing fast. Earth is tired of being a slave to an inferior world. The time is near when we'll prove to Vastoria and their fucking "wanna-be" Goddess that we're more than pawns in the grand scheme of things. Don't you think so, Sage Felix?"
