10x Rewards: Becoming Invincible With My Sign-in System

Chapter 95: Moonveil Opera House

Since oil was out of the question, Aegon decided to go for electricity or something similar that would be cheaper, affordable, recyclable, and long-lasting.

There were too many things he wanted to do with that energy aside from just providing it to the common populace. This became one more reason he attended the Academy, to get the answers he sought.

'Oii, system, I know I'm being demanding, but can't you give me some batteries or something? I can try to understand them and replicate something similar to store mana.'

[Host needs to sign in!]

'Of course, I do.'

Then, Aegon ignored both the system and Cali, who was trying to get a reaction out of him. His eyes remained fixed on the lantern's mana stone, as if he was trying to unveil its secrets.

'How does this even hold mana without any leakage?'

He knew the answer already...pressure. The intense pressure of the deep underground made it possible to store the mana that was normally impossible to contain.

Aegon was sure there were more factors in play, but that was definitely a major one. He couldn't replicate that pressure, so he needed to find another method of storing mana and make it recyclable.

How was he going to do that?

He only had a few theories he would like to test.

"There he goes again, in his ice state!"

Xavier's voice floated to his ears along with a smack on his back. Turning around, he found all three siblings staring at him with clear annoyance.

"Sorry, sorry, just thinking about something," Aegon scratched the back of his head and said. "Hmm? Are we going somewhere? Why are you all dressed up?"

They weren't particularly dressed better but had changed into something more casual and fashionable. Luna wore a knee-length, beautiful black dress, while Xavier and Cali had on a vest-shirt combo that suited them well.

"Yeah, I'm exhausted after practicing all day, so we're going to the Moonveil Opera House," Xavier began whining as he massaged his shoulders. "I need something entertaining."

"Just look in the mirror," Aegon shrugged, swiftly dodging the punch he knew would come. "But a theatre, huh."

"Coming?" Cali asked.

"Of course, this is the first time I'm attending something like this," Aegon happily agreed, joy and curiosity clear in his voice. "I've been thinking about it, actually."

Theatres. Aegon had never visited one before, so that had always been one of his goals, to sit among many people and enjoy a movie or drama unfolding before them.

How could he possibly miss such a chance?

'Wait! Movies! I need electricity and all for this too. Tsk! I really need to find a good, cheap energy source soon if I want movies in theatres.'

Aegon found yet another goal for himself.

He also changed into a plain white shirt and pants, which earned him a disappointed look from Xavier, but he still went along with it.

"He looks handsome in whatever he wears," Luna chuckled as she patted her little brother's head. "Don't look so disappointed."

"That's exactly why I'm disappointed."

The Moonveil Opera House was located in the inner district, so they had to use their wagon. When they stepped off it, they found themselves facing a tall architectural masterpiece filled with mana crystals that showered colored lights everywhere.

Under the house's plaque, the drama's name was written in night-colored letters along with a knight's portrait.

[The Fall of the Dawnbringer!]

"Seems like a tragedy," Luna said softly. "I'm not comfortable with these types of dramas."

"Why? Are you gonna cry like a baby?" Xavier teased her.

"I don't see any problem with that," Aegon said. "It's natural if you're an emotional and empathetic person."

"Emp what?"

"Shut up!"

"You shut up!"

But he did close his mouth afterward.

Apparently, Luna had already secured the tickets beforehand because of Aegon. She had even bought one for Cali, and Aegon could see Luna's eyes shifting toward her hopefully.

Even now, she seemed hesitant, slowly pushing the ticket toward Cali, who gently accepted it. Her eyes still didn't have the courage to meet Luna's gaze.

'No matter how I see it, they definitely love each other, so what's the problem?'

Aegon really couldn't figure it out, so he just kept observing them silently.

As the four of them were entering the house, a soft-pitched voice from behind stopped them.

"Lunara! You're here too!"

Aegon shifted slightly while Luna smiled warmly and turned around to meet the voice's owner.

It was a group of three girls around Luna's age, beautifully dressed in frilly long dresses that highlighted their elegance. Golden jewelry on their slender bodies seemed to brighten their already charming faces.

Luna went over to them, exchanging greetings and smiling throughout their short chat. Aegon noticed that the girls wanted to greet the rest of them too, but Luna handled it well and kept them at a polite distance. Soon, the girls left, smiling subtly at Aegon as they passed.

When Luna returned, Aegon asked, "Friends?"

"Acquaintances!" Luna smiled. "I only have a few friends, and I don't give that spot easily to others."

Aegon nodded and glanced at Cali, who hadn't even looked back. There was something in her eyes that he couldn't quite understand, but she seemed eager to leave this place.

Then, they entered the house, and after passing through a dimly lit corridor, they were led to their exclusive room by an attendant.

It was in the upper gallery, from where they had a perfect view of the velvet stage. Fruits, refreshments, and other small luxuries were placed on the table surrounding the sofas.

"Please call me if you need anything, M'Lord!" The attendant bowed and left them alone.

"Gon! I gotta piss!" Xavier said the moment they sat down.

"Why are you telling me that?" Aegon was speechless.

"Give me company, man," Xavier cried out.

Cali pushed him off the seat and said, "Go away before I throw you out."

Aegon shook his head and also stood up. As much as he knew Xavier, this was definitely a signal for something important, even if it sounded absurd. Well, his friend was weird, so it was nothing new.

They asked the attendant for directions and walked toward the washroom while Aegon focused on Xavier.

"Get on with it!"

"What? Piss? Man, I'm a decent person, so no, I won't do that here."

"Want me to kill you?"

"No!"

"Then shut up!"

"Then who will tell you about the deep secrets?"
