Vahn closed the system window and opened his eyes. The world felt both sharper and infinitely more accessible. His consciousness swam in the boundless energy provided by his dual core.

Seraphina rushed forward, her eyes wide with immense relief. Seeing him alive after the terrifying Tribulation was all that mattered.

"Vahn!" she cried while rushing to him.

However, as she laid her hand on his chest, she paused. Her brow furrowing slightly. She couldn't sense his Golden Core at all. It was utterly invisible to her powerful Light Dao, residing somewhere beyond her spiritual perception.

The complete lack of a detectable core made her heart sink, and she momentarily suspected he had failed, but his confident, cold smirk immediately rejected the idea.

"My husband always surprises me," she murmured with a mixture of awe and devotion in her tone.

The Stone Monkey King scampered forward, now utterly convinced of Vahn's terrifying power. The Tribulation he had deflected was proof enough. The King bowed low, his flattery dripping with self-interest.

"Congratulations, Young Master Vahn! Your power is beyond the reach of the Heavens themselves! Now, with your mighty strength, we can go slay the foul Sky Dragon and free my people! The ancient treasure will be yours!"

Vahn snorted, the sound dry and contemptuous. He had little interest in the monkeys' freedom, but he was certainly interested in the treasure.

"Lead the way, then, King," Vahn commanded as he sheathed the Nuclear Dragon Sword.

The Stone Monkey King, ecstatic and energized, immediately began leading the way.

Vahn and Seraphina followed closely behind, through the unique landscape toward the Sky Dragon's lair.

Their path was loaded mossy slopes and across precarious natural bridges formed by ancient roots.

After a short, intense journey, the environment changed dramatically. The air became thinner and charged with lightning energy.

These signs confirmed that they had reached the terrifying vicinity of the Sky Dragon's Nest.

The nest was not built on the ground, but was crudely created into the underside of the highest floating island.

Its sheer size was visible even from a distance.

The surrounding rocks glowed faintly with concentrated spiritual energy were the clear sign of a powerful entity residing within..

Vahn's attention was fully focused now. The excitement of battle and the promise of ancient wealth had surpassed all other thoughts. He gripped Seraphina's hand in a silent promise to keep her safe, before turning his gaze to the sky above the lair.

The ancient, colossal Sky Dragon was the guardian of the Divine Treasury.

They were about to confront it.

The ancient, colossal Sky Dragon instantly sensed their presence. It opened its colossal eyes, which glowed with the blinding, static charge of raw lightning.

Its enormous form unfolded as it rose from iys slumber.

Vahn finally got see one of them in full glory.

The dragon was like a classic Western Dragon, blue in color and scaled like polished sapphire.

Its full height were about 200 meters, almost equal to a small terrifying mountain against the misty sky.

The creature's voice was akin a deep, rumbling force that shook the very foundation of the floating island they stood upon.

"Humans! You dare interrupt the sleep of a Guardian of the Divine Treasury? You trespass on sacred ground! State your purpose, or be reduced to ash!"

It was ancient, arrogant, and utterly domineering.

Vahn paused, his battle intent momentarily sheathed as Seraphina gently slipped her hand from his arm and stepped forward. Her aura shifted from protective wife to the dignified Saintess of Light.

"Oh, great Guardian," Seraphina began, her voice clear and resonant, untouched by fear. She showed her glowing Saintess Mark. "I am the Saintess of Light. I have come to retrieve the Ancient Treasury that you were promised to give to the next generation of Saintesses. Please, keep the pact, and we shall end this peacefully."

The colossal Sky Dragon, instead of unleashing lightning, drew back its mountainous head slightly. Its eyes narrowed as it analyzed the power and purity of her Mark. It did not refuse the pact.

"So, you're indeed one of them. The pact remains," the Dragon rumbled, the sound still thunderous. "However, the Treasury is sealed by the grief of the pact's original creator. I shall not yield the key until one condition is met: I must be reunited with my Partner: the Eternal Phoenix, who is dead."

The Dragon's gaze, now surprisingly sorrowful, settled upon Vahn and Seraphina. "The Phoenix can only be revived if a couple, pure by heart, performs the sacred Dual Cultivation Art: Dragon Phoenix Union. That act of shared, profound intimacy will channel the necessary life force to her essence."

The proposal was instantly outrageous to Vahn. But inwardly, he knew he was expecting it. He just hadn't had the courage to propose such an intimate act to Seraphina yet, despite their close bond.

Seraphina also blushed hard, her face turning the color of a ripe apple. As a shy and preservation-minded woman, she obviously knew exactly what Dual Cultivation entailed.

The sheer impropriety of the demand—performing such an intimate, sacred act in front of this ancient, old dragon— mortifying. And to do it without their marriage ceremony?

She turned to Vahn, her blush contrasting with the sincere worry in her eyes.

"Husband," she whispered in a low gentle tone, "I—I can't. We are already husband and wife, but... I also wished for a formal wedding. To perform... that... without your family, without a proper ceremony... I cannot."

Vahn was faced with a critical choice: respect Seraphina's desire for a formal ceremony and risk losing the Divine Treasury to the approaching enemies, or push for the "Dragon Phoenix Union" now to secure the treasure.

What should he choose?
