Saving the Kidnapped Girls – Part 1

Alex found himself falling rapidly through the underground floors, his Gravitational Control Lv.5 now far easier to handle it was no longer the same as when he fought the Spider King.
Alex was much stronger than his past self. Not quantitatively stronger, but qualitatively stronger. He felt that if he were to fight the Spider King now, he would win in just a few moves.
Alex's heart was a storm of emotions; he feared what he might find down below.
"I'm coming, sister," Alex murmured, quickening his descent.
He loosened the gravitational control around himself when he reached the intended floor.
Several hunters who had heard the sound of the upper layers breaking gathered in a vast hall, waiting for the enemy to arrive and with a loud crash, the figure appeared.
Alex looked coldly at the hunters, each of them wearing an animal mask. His Perception Attribute extended, covering a large part of the facility.
He was able to sense his knights fighting. For that to happen, it meant Feliciana and John were in danger. Alex wondered what kind of enemy John a two-star hunter was facing for his knight to have to intervene.
Both knights had the same base attributes as Alex, and both possessed abilities that allowed them to regenerate infinitely as long as Alex had enough MP for the effect.
Even so, Alex still seemed worried, because although he was surrounded by several hunters, none of them were the three-star hunter. That meant one of the hunters under his command was likely fighting that opponent at this very moment, and his knights would be of little help.

Alex took a quick glance at his system window, and as expected, his knights were already making use of his MP confirming what he feared. Taking a deep breath, he decided to resolve things as quickly as possible so he could assist his men.
Alex used Lightning Step Lv.2 to move swiftly behind his enemies. With his 91 points of Strength, he punched violently, sending the struck hunter flying and crashing hard against the wall.
The other hunters were shocked by Alex's movement one moment he was in one spot, and the next, their comrade was sent flying into the opposite wall.
"Why are you just standing there? Attack him already! He's just one man what are you afraid of?" Thomas shouted angrily at his men. He was the only one without a mask.
"Hurry and finish him off while I recover the merchandise! After that, meet me in the east wing. Whoever kills him gets a raise!"
Thomas ran off as soon as he saw the morale of his hunters reignite, heading toward where the girls were being kept.
Alex advanced, trying to catch up with Thomas; however, several masked hunters stepped in his way, launching countless energy attacks in his direction.
Relying on his high agility and dexterity, Alex dodged the attacks with precision he didn't want to waste his HP on mere one-star hunters. Alex was a Lv.2 Swordsman.
He raised his hand, and a sword materialized within his grasp. As he did, a system notification appeared.
Strength = 91 + 5Agility = 91 + 5
Alex felt a slight boost in his strength and speed. He wasn't using Excalibur as he normally did he wanted to conserve his energy since his knights were consuming MP like water.
Instead, he wielded the Novice Sword, the same one he had obtained when he first arrived on Earth in the year 3025. Ever since the system had granted him the item, Alex had kept it in his inventory, using it only on rare occasions.
Now armed, Alex counterattacked like a raging bolt of lightning. Thanks to his high agility and dexterity, his movements were fast and fluid his blade traced elegant arcs through the air as he moved.
Lightning Step Lv.2 made Alex vanish from the criminals' sight, only to reappear elsewhere and each time he did, another hunter fell to the ground, unable to rise again.
Alex's eyes glowed with a violet light, forming a beam of energy that followed his movements and gave him a terrifying presence.
"Stop."
His voice echoed through the room, freezing the criminals in place. The skill King's Command Lv.2 had been activated, and they felt their bodies stiffen, paralyzed and unable to move for a brief moment.
Alex fully unleashed his agility and dexterity, slashing through the immobilized hunters before him.
His body was enveloped by currents of electricity as Lightning Step Lv.2 reached its full potential he looked like a living blur surrounded by crackling arcs of power.
The Novice Sword was wrapped in lightning, producing an unpleasant hum that mixed with the screams of pain from every hunter struck by it.
Alex frowned as the number of enemies blocking his path continued to grow. He considered switching to Excalibur and ending them all in a single strike.
But he forced himself to suppress the thought. The truth was, Alex didn't really know how to fight. He merely pushed his attributes and skills to their limits his victories came not from technique, but from his Swordsman skill supporting his movements and keeping him from falling behind.

Lúcia was a nurse, and topics like organ trafficking were things often discussed in her line of work. She knew that awakened individuals tended to be much healthier compared to ordinary people.
When she used to hear about such cases, she never thought too deeply about them. She simply lamented that they happened somewhere in the world but that was all. Now, she was at risk of becoming the next victim.
The thought of having her organs removed or being auctioned off like an object made her body tremble with fear.
Lúcia glanced around and saw other girls sleeping despite the horrors and the uncertain fate awaiting them. She couldn't sleep at all she just sat there, staring into the dark, waiting for someone, anyone, to come and save her.
By the next day, Lúcia no longer knew how much time had passed in that dark place. Somehow, the girls who had been there longer could tell day from night but she couldn't.
Lúcia curled up in a corner, tears streaming down her face. Why were so many terrible things happening to her?How long would she have to endure so much misfortune?
She wanted to go home there, she would wait for her brother to return from the Hunters Association, wait for her mother to awaken from her slumber, and wait for her father, who had vanished within the dungeon that had disappeared.
"Are you okay?"
Lúcia raised her eyes to see a girl offering her a dirty handkerchief to wipe her tears.
"Thank you, Maria."
Lúcia took the handkerchief and passed it over her face. The tears were gone, but a faint trace of grime remained on her cheek. She handed the handkerchief back to the younger girl.
"You're worried about your family, aren't you?"
The girl sat beside Lúcia, placing her small, dirt-stained hand on Lúcia's shoulder, who didn't seem to mind.
"Yes, I'm really worried about my family… and I'm also very scared of what might happen to us."
Lúcia hugged her knees tightly. Her eyes were red perhaps from crying so much.
"I don't really know what to say to you," Maria murmured, her expression odd. "But… we're still alive. We should be grateful for that."
Lúcia didn't respond.
"What did you use to do before you came to this place?" Maria asked, trying to start a conversation.
"I used to work as a nurse, after I left university," Lúcia said, memories of her past flooding her mind and easing her heart a little.
"Wow, that's amazing! So you were someone in society, right?" Maria looked at her with admiration and a touch of envy.
"And what did you use to do before being brought here?" Lúcia asked, somewhat curious.
At Lúcia's question, Maria's mood dropped instantly, like a soaked card collapsing in on itself. She looked away, embarrassed.
"I used to be a thief… in District E15." She scratched her head, avoiding eye contact.
Before either of them could say anything else, the ground began to tremble. All the girls felt it fear immediately spreading among them.
"What was that?" one of them asked, clutching the nearest girl in terror.
"An earthquake?" Lucia asked, looking at Maria for a possible answer.
Maria focused her senses and said hesitantly.
"It seems that someone is fighting up there." Before Maria could finish her words and the others could agree with her, several tremors and the sound of battle reached them.
"Could someone be fighting to rescue us?" Lucia wondered, a spark of hope blooming in her heart.
Suddenly, the door was thrown open and four masked hunters rushed inside.
