Madam Xie looked at her with a smile, nodding in satisfaction. This girl is great in every way, but she's just too young. She's too young to get married, register it, or have kids. I should just drop the idea.
Yang Xintian, meanwhile, shot a triumphant look at Sun Dasheng across the table, as if she had won a victory against him for the very first time.
"Just eat your food," Sun Dasheng chided her.
She immediately tattled to Madam Xie beside her. "Grandma, Uncle Sun is being mean to me."
Madam Xie shot Sun Dasheng a glare. "You're her uncle. How can you bully your little niece?"
Then, smiling, she said to Yang Xintian, "You just eat. Don't mind him. With Grandma here, he won't dare do anything to you."
The group resumed eating, chatting and laughing.
Everyone except for Sun Dasheng.
He could feel a restless little foot reaching out from under the table, rubbing incessantly against his leg.
What in the world is she trying to pull?
With his parents present, he couldn't just call her out. He had to communicate with the little witch by mouthing the words.
The little witch, Yang Xintian, naturally read his lips and mouthed back, "Hmph! I'm going to do it anyway. What can you do to me?"
The next second, the restless little foot was caught.
"Ah?" Yang Xintian let out a small yelp.
She hadn't expected him to be able to catch her little foot so quickly and accurately without even being able to see.
"What's wrong, dear?" Madam Xie asked.
Yang Xintian forced an awkward smile. "It's nothing, Grandma. I think I just got a fishbone stuck in my throat."
Madam Xie immediately stood up. "Getting a fishbone stuck is no small matter! I'll go to the kitchen and get some vinegar. Drinking vinegar works wonders."
Sun Dasheng was struggling to hold back his laughter.
When he was a child, he'd gotten a fishbone stuck in his throat and had often been subjected to the horrors of Madam Xie's so-called folk remedy. Now that he was older and knew better, he was well aware that this remedy was wrong. But today, he had no intention of correcting her. He knew the little girl was lying. He had clearly just grabbed her foot, yet there she was, brazenly claiming a fishbone was stuck in her throat.
Heh heh... Well then, let's see how she enjoys Madam Xie's great vinegar cure.
GULP. Yang Xintian nearly spat out the large mouthful of vinegar she was forced to swallow.
"That's enough, Grandma! The bone in my throat is gone," she said quickly, trying to stop her.
If she didn't speak up now, she was afraid she'd be drowned in vinegar.
That despicable Uncle Sun is still over there laughing at me. He knows perfectly well I yelped because he grabbed my foot. Instead of helping, he just sits there and watches me make a fool of myself. Hmph! You just wait.
Seeing that the girl was fine, Madam Xie held up the vinegar bottle triumphantly. "See? I told you this method works. I saved Da Sheng several times with this very method when he was a little boy." She continued, "Once he grew up, he stopped listening to me. Whenever he got a fishbone stuck, he would insist on going to the hospital—the *correct* thing to do, of course."
"Alright, Mom, put the vinegar back," Sun Dasheng said.
To be honest, the sight of the vinegar still brought back some childhood trauma for him.
「After the meal.」
The old couple announced they were going out for a walk around the neighborhood to aid their digestion.
The moment the door clicked shut, someone jumped onto Sun Dasheng's back. "Uncle Sun, take this! I've come for revenge!"
Two delicate little hands wrapped around his neck. Against anyone else, those two slender hands, though weak, might have posed a threat. Unfortunately for her, she was dealing with the inhuman Sun Dasheng. No matter how hard Yang Xintian strained, her little hands couldn't break through his defenses.
Furious, she bit down hard on his sturdy shoulder. "You bad uncle! I'll bite you to death!"
He reached a hand around her waist and, with a gentle pull, lifted her from his back and into his arms.
"You're pretty bold, little one. Still biting?" Sun Dasheng looked down at her, a teasing smile on his face.
She really lived up to her nickname. The little witch's eyes darted around before she twisted at the waist, lunging upward to bite him right on the mouth.
It actually hurt quite a bit.
In response, her tiny rear received a firm smack.
True to her "little witch" nickname, she completely ignored the sting on her bottom and kept her teeth clamped firmly on his mouth. But that was the end of her assault. A hand squeezed her chin, gently prying her jaws open.
Then, her small mouth was completely conquered by his larger one.
"MMPH... MM... MM..."
